THEY ARE OPEN!!! I'm so thrilled Art Primo Seattle is open during this time. I'm working with small businesses and trying to stay artistically productive for my mental well being during this time. Being able to get the art supplies I need and support local business is such a bonus. I'm also really happy they are able to ship orders if they don't have what I need at the physical location. Seattle orders are almost always next day and I appreciate this so much. Thank you Art Primo Seattle for keeping the community here artistically supplied and I N S P I R E D!

    Such a dope shop!

A Graffiti Artists HEAVEN.... First and foremost, I am a HUGE supporter of Art Primo and his work. I've learned a lot of my spray etiquette from his YouTube videos, and adventures. So when my homie told me he had a shop I was FAN GIRLING. I had to go no matter what. We traveled to Seattle by ferry and modded it straight to the store. Driving there from the ferry is like a 10 min drive, and walking there is like 30 mins. Lol! (Uber or Lyft my friends) When we pulled up you can see a crowd of artists sitting around tables just sketching, drawing etc. Sooooo dope. Felt in my element. I walked in and was overwhelmed with excitement. They have any color you could imagine. The store was small yet big enough for its purpose. The young lady helping me was very informative with merchandise and matched my needs with things she'd recommend, and things she'd think I'd like. I went a little ham and bought one of everything basically. Haha! They have everything from pro markers, drips, spray paint, caps, stickers YOU NAME IT! FYI: These are professional materials. Think sharpie times 100. Lol! I'm telling you. These are no joke. They will stay forever and do damage. Definitely do research on what kind of product your looking for but most likely the workers here will help you to the best of their abilities. Prices are soooooo affordable. They have weekly deals on cans as well. I got a couple spray cans for $3. Branded and Good quality. If you're a graffiti artist that's a f*ckin gold mine. That Walmart price for gooooooooooooooooood quality paint man. IF ONLY I LIVED HERE... I'd be here everyday. Just chillin, painting, and spending so much money. Lol! I'd highly recommend this place to my fellow artists.

Picked up a few supplies to get some work done. Paint was outstanding like normal for a low pressure can. The lady who was working there I didn't get here name but she was a very big help not only with the store but also with me being able to have a few places for legal work prices are a little up there but for quick supplies its worth it

Tacoma was out but the sweet sales associates offered to order or call Seattle. I overheard them on the phone confirming various sizes. So I thanked them & drove up to Seattle. I noticed the Seattle location didn't have the sizes I was told, I asked the guy in charge of frames/ stretchers and he claimed I asked for one size then showed me a different brand from what was confirmed over the phone, a heavy duty variety. When I expressed frustration of being told the wrong thing, he walked off pouting, didn't offer to order any for me like Tacoma did. Not wanting to leave empty handed I grabbed a couple off sizes so I can work. On my way to check out, I informed my friend of what just occured and placed the stretchers at the register. The clerk said "You need to check out over there, Sir." My flabbers were gasted! My monocle popped out! I said "Sir? I'm not a sir!". This was strange and shocking to me. So I went to the proper clerk saying "They just called me Sir. What part of me gives man? I've never been called a man." So yeah I'm mad confused as to why my petite, adorable self in pink & lilac got called a man by someone who would not appreciate being misgendered themselves.... On Pride weekend of all times. And why wasn't I offered to have the supplies ordered for me like in Tacoma? Basically I received a wild goose chase, a bad attitude, lied to about what I overheard confirmed on the phone, and casually misgendered by Seattle staff. Very sad since I prefer supporting local. The Tacoma shop is a vibe with kind, helpful staff. I'll stick with them and Jerry's Art a Rama online. Apparently several reviews report bad behavior from staff over the past year or so. Don't need the funky ahh attitude when I just wanna create.

I only bought two little pens and a sewing pattern, and I'm not even sure what the subtotal was. I assumed it was 75c with tax, so just in case I pulled out two dollars. The lady told me "I need 4 cents." I thought she meant the total was $1.04, so I told her "Oh I don't have coins, I'll pay with card so you don't have to make change." She gave me a pointed look and said, "...then I'll have to charge you an extra 50c" I was super confused, but that was fine. I thought it over a little, and then she told me, "Your total is only 96c" Totally fine, I gave her one dollar and told her to keep the change. Usually... you tell the customer their total and they can figure out what to give you. Not a weird vague comment. She's not mean, she helped me find a nearby bathroom, and she told another customer she's worked at a paint store before, so I think she's just... odd. I think staff needs a little more consistent training, it was somewhat uncomfortable.

They had fabric, all aspects of sewing and scrapbooking, jewelry making, bulk paint and glue, glitter, and a wide selection of different containers. Somehow, I had never heard of Seattle ReCreative, but I'm glad I stumbled upon it! The store doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's much bigger than it looks. The front rooms have sewing supplies, knitting/crochet needles, fabric and notions, plus modeling clay, jewelry and beading stuff. As you go further back, there's a room with office supplies, a section of cards and stationery and paper ephemera. The biggest area is in the back, though, where the main warehouse is. That's where you'll find gift bags and tissue, floral supplies, wicker baskets and tins, paint, and tons more random stuff. The other side of the warehouse is a crafting area that looks like it can be rented out - they said they had had a bunch of kids in earlier for a field trip. You definitely have to sift through the piles of stuff to find what you're looking for, but the prices are very reasonable. I love that it's reducing waste and encouraging creative reuse - anyone with hobbies knows how expensive it can be to get started with supplies, and this is a good way to try things out inexpensively. (Or get rid of the evidence of an abandoned hobby.) Their hours are a bit limited, but similar to other small crafting/hobby supply shops. Overall, if you're willing to roll up your sleeves and hunt, there's lots of treasure to be found!

About two weeks ago, my favorite K-pop group, LE SSERAFIM, was in town and during the encore, they came out in full UW gear. After researching, I found out that the gear was from University Book Store. I really wanted to buy the hat that Chaewon wore and was able to find and buy one there. It was a University Book Store exclusive printed/embroidered on '47 brand Hat. There is a reason I am telling this story though! While I was there, I looked around and see what kind of merchandises they were selling and I noticed that they have done collaboration with quality brands such as Lululemon, Champion (reverse Weave), Adidas, '47 Brand, New Era, etc. Clearly, whoever is in charge of designing the fan gear here knows what they are doing. They also had a clearance section upstairs with items marked down up to 50%. If you're a current UW student or UW Alumni and haven't been here in recent years like me, I highly recommend checking it out. Check out my photos of all the UW gears that LE SSERAFIM members wore during the concert.

The prices are a bit high, but they do go back into student support and activities, so it's a good investment. Also, there is a 20% discount or specific dates and timelines along with promotionals for students. but I don't think that these discounts apply to text books. I definitely recommend a university bookstore.
