I needed a new nail place and decided to check this place out. I made an appointment two days before and had no issue getting a Saturday appointment. When I walked in the owner took my temperature, had me sign a COVID-waiver, and asked me to wash my hands. One of the workers, Fabiola, immediately started my pedicure water. She took her time with my pedicure, cleaning under the nails and along the sides, clipping the nails, etc. She really gave my feet some TLC! Note: I love pedicurists that take the time to give you good service, she did just that! Also, they put new plastic in the foot bath and have a peel off foot scrubber they use which they throw away after one use. I appreciate the cleanliness! Gel mani: Fabiola did a great job! She cleaned the sides when the polish would get on my skin, she gave my nails an extra coat and gave me a hand massage. She also did a great job removing my cuticles. I really enjoyed my experience. On to the reason for the fifth star: the owner disinfected the door handle, the nail polish handles, the sample nails that customers all touch to choose a color, she had two separate pen holders, one for "sanitized" pens and one for the ones recently used that need sanitizing. There are only three pedicure stations available, the two in between are not in use due to Covid precautions. The place is small but the owner seems to be conscious of not crowding the place. Most customers come by appointment. Also, note: prices have changed since June to account for Covid needs. Witnessing how much effort is taken to disinfect and to give customers a good experience during this time really makes the increase reasonable. It's a $5 increase on most services so really not a big ask for what you get! Overall, really good quality service. I will be back! Pricing: gel mani: $30; regular pedi: $25. read more

Good for a basic pedicure. The salon is small but clean. Upon entering you need to wash hands right away. My massage chair worked and was strong. Decent selection of colors... not huge but honestly that can get overwhelming.... Owner seemed nice. Basic pedicure was $25. read more

I got a gel manicure and regular pedicure which was $55 without tip. Everything was clean and the techs were very detail-oriented. It's been a week and my nails are still in great shape. The only bummer is that they don't have their own parking lot so I needed to drive around a bit. read more

This was my first time here since I recently moved to the area and was searching for a place that was closer to me. I've been going to my usual spot for years, but I wanted to try somewhere new and I'm so glad that I did because I am officially a customer. Sunny, the owner took care of me and she was so great. Sanitized everything and was so patient when I came in late and had to do an acrylic for a special occasion. I will definitely be coming back and recommending this place to others! read more

I hardly write reviews for establishments that aren't restaurants or other food places - but this one really deserved it. I have only gotten my nails done professionally on one other occasion (at a different location) and that manicure barely made it two weeks. Granted, I changed a full flat tire with that set, I was still skeptical if it was worth my time and money to go and get my nails done again. It was SO worth it - it has now been a full four weeks and my gel manicure from Art Se Nails is still fully intact. The woman who did my nails (I regret not asking her nail, maybe she was the owner?) was attentive and paid close attention to the small details. It was a 30 minute drive, but absolutely worth it. After four weeks, I've decided that I needed to cut them - I will update on how they hold now that the seal has been broken. read more

After 4 yrs of service (COVID included) this is still the best spot I have been! (I travel 30-40 mins depending on traffic bc they are the absolute best) All of the employees are exceptional as well as the owner. Definitely recommend making an appointment. read more

Love this place !!!! So worth the price . I booked an appointment last minute literally 5 min before I got there . The owner answered the phone and took me .... she was a bit hesitant at first - I'm sure it was because they were busy. Place seemed very quiet at first and almost awkward to walk in ... but Olga greeted me with a big smile and warm welcoming . I chose to do the mani and pedi . The pedicure was amazing ! She even scrubbed and exfoliated my lower leg which was awesome . She took her time while doing it as well even though it was late and close to closing . The manicure was amazing as well . Olga did such a good job painting my nails and making sure they were shaped nicely . And trust me - I bite my nails all the time and so I can assure you it was probably so hard to get my nails to look even remotely decent. Next, come to my surprise I asked how much it was .... $20!!!! What an amazing price . I had to ask twice just to make sure lol . I've went to high class salons where they charged 30 and did a crappy job . When you walk in this place you really don't expect it to be all that ... but for $20 and the good service ... this place literally has won me over !!! I just hope they stay as good as the first time . This is not just the cheapest mani pedi I've ever gotten, but this was one of the best ones I've gotten . They are the best nail place in this area. And now they opened up the second one next-door because they have so many clients. Now they can grow even more. All the girls are really nice and the place is really clean. I recommend them to everybody. You will be happy coming here..And now they have Artse Nails 2 right next door. They are fantastic. I moved to NJ about 9 months ago and recently discovered Art Sc nails. Easily one of the top nail salons I've been to and happy to claim it as my new favorite and regular go-to. I've only gotten gel fills from Jade who is incredible at her craft, not to mention a sweetheart. All the girls otherwise seem very friendly and make it a great atmosphere for the clientele. It's a small place, but always packed, which speaks volumes about their service and capabilities. Highly recommend making an appointment! read more

I just got pedicure done over there for the first time & I wish I could give it 0 stars... picked this place based on yelp reviews... first of, women that work there are rude and talk about and flat out stare at clients that do not speak spanish, rude and disrespectful! They place is outdated and like others said, doesn't look like they clean it properly. The woman that did my pedicure did a horrible job! Not worth $20 and My 5 year old would've done better job. She didn't even cover entire nail with nail polish on some of my toes! She also didn't even bother to clean off nail polish from the toe she got it on my skin... I will NOT go back there and DO NOT recommend this dump! read more

I love my girl Sunny, she does great nails and designs. Always takes care of me no matter what day I call or what time. She's kind funny And has her ladies trained well to provide all customers with amazing spa like treatments. What I appreciate the most during these crazy times is the amount if cleanliness her location has. Temperature checks, mandatory hand washing with soap before encountering any one from the salón. Sanitize pens and wavers insuring you and everyone's safety before getting your nails done. I appreciate you Sunny and all of your ladies. Keep doing an excellent job. read more

I just moved into town I was looking for a nail salon and this was the first nail salon that popped up. I must say it's by appointment only luckily they were able to take me last minute. Edit: so I've been coming back and I usually get Cello now to do my nails. NOTHING PERSONAL against anyone else - I didn't mean to leave a bad review before. I was just being honest and stating my opinion! I think we all have that right. All the techs are great, go try them and you will see for yourself! -- I've been coming to Art Se Nails since I moved to East Rutherford over 2 years ago. An acquaintance recommended them and I will be honest, in the beginning, I was super happy and impressed with the overall service and especially the quality of the nail work. However, that has changed as of late. Not sure why, but every time I call for an appointment (and I know the owner Sunny knows it's me because I also go by "Irene" and that's her daughter's name), I'm given a short and curt response, as if I'm bothering her to take my business. I know all other girls too (Olga, Cello, Claudia) and they've also been a bit "iffy" as well. I hate to name drop, but the last time I got a pedicure, one of them did a sloppy job, talking the entire time with one of the other girls and just not really taking the time to remotely put in the effort into it being a half decent pedicure. (If you're scrubbing or filing and you're not even looking at the toes as you are doing, I'm sorry but that is a sloppy job.) They are very busy, I'll give them that, but that shouldn't compromise any customer's time. Also, since I've been a regular for over two years (mind you, I am pretty low-key, non-fussy and I ALWAYS tip well), I don't understand why I'd be met with a borderline-attitude/indifference from any of the nail techs. Maybe I am taking it all too personally or it's all in my head?? But then I remember around last Christmas time, the other customers around me received a little free (prob lotion) gift, but when I paid, one was not passed to me with a "cheerful holiday wish." In fact, it was the exact opposite - I had something that I had brought in for the entire salon staff! Sunny took it from me as if it were expected and I don't quite remember even if she thanked me. I'm sorry if my review was harsh and based solely/mostly on the atmosphere/attitude of the salon techs. They do DO a good job otherwise, but I am questioning whether I want to come back or not because to me, a business is about how you treat the customer OVERALL, not just about the product/service rendered. read more

Moved to the area in January and needed a new nail place. I am SO happy to have found Art Se Nails. They have a great selection of colors and every single one of the girls are amazing, I've never had an issue with anyone's work so I don't feel the need to ask for someone specific (unlike many other nail salons.) Pricing is VERY reasonable and my very favorite thing is that they never overbook. If you make an appt, they are ready for you and get you in and out. I really appreciate not having my time wasted! Walked in here during lunchtime hoping to get a manicure. The place is very small and they were busy but luckily they were able to take me. They have a great selection of polishes and the girl who did my nails was very meticulous. It did take a good amount of time but that's because she was doing such a good job. I've been on the prowl for a good salon for quite some time. I called and made an appointment on New Years Eve for 1 pm. They asked I arrive at 12:45 to soak. No problem. The salon is small and doesn't have many stations so I'm glad I had an appointment. It could get cramped in there however with patience and a smile you will get through it. I am unsure of who did my nails however she did a great job! She asked me whether I wanted them cut or filed. She asked about the shape and then did a layer of paint and asked if I liked the color which I did. Overall good quality and I liked the atmosphere of this place as well. Street parking so bring your quarters. Gel mani was only $25 read more

This was my first visit and I got a Beautiful gel manicure!!! All the ladies are super friendly and work very hard. Can't beat the price and my nails look and feel great. It was very busy when I got there right before 10am so I would suggest an appointment. Can't wait to go back! read more

You all need to really trust all the great reviews posted about this place. I always go to Sonny for my gel fill-ins with color gel on top (I've never tried getting a mani with anyone else but sonny does a flawless job and makes them look SO natural every time so why risk it!) and then any of the girls who do pedicures are amazing. They are perfectionists who only use high quality products. I go every 3 weeks only because my nails are extremely grown out, but they stay perfectly shiny without chipping or breaking for a longggg time. It's a tiny place and you always need an appointment because they're super busy so I do not recommend walking in. I've gone to several nail salons all along park ave in Rutherford and several in carlstadt//east Rutherford/hasbrouck heights but this one is honestly the best! read more

I went there with my friend to try as a new salon and we both had two different ladies. First of all, I had called for an appointment at two and they asked me to come in about a half hour early so at 1:35pm and we did not leave until 3:40 for a such a basic set that I got and I cannot even start on how terrible the French design my friend got it was HORRIBLE. With what I would have wanted would've taken them a whole day to get right. All the woman there do not know what they are doing when it comes to acrylic/ design. Second of all the woman I had laid my tops all the way to the back of my nail, ahem their called tips for a reason and drilled my nails for about an hour. I felt like a whole sand storm was going to come from it, and the fact I felt like I was at a butcher shop with how she kept nicking each of my fingers and cuticles, I didn't want them to be touched and now they are gone and ruined. Also with the fact when she kept drilling of left like my nail beds were on fire. If that woman kept on going I would've just started bleeding and there are so many invisible cuts My fingers still hurt an hour later. Plus with the fact I asked for squared nails and i don't even know what shape they gave me. And I the end when I asked for a discount with how they abused and man handled my fingers one of the woman said "I go to salons a lot and nicking happens, it's a normal thing. I'll take a picture for the owner but I'm seeing it through the camera and I see nothing. But I'll take pictures anyway ". When I know I'm fact it is not normal to hurt customers fingers and attitude in Spanish she was giving back, she is out of her mind. I'm attaching what I wanted and what I settled for because I was looking over at my friends progress and decided to cut it short because it was not it. I went here for the first time today after reading good reviews to get my nails done…read more I asked for UV gel with 4 nails ( 2 on each hand) a tortoise design. The nail technician did a good job shaping them. However, I'm not happy with the final result. My nails were almond shaped and the edges of each nail were sharp causing an unpleasant rough scratchy feeling when I scratch my arm. I had to file them myself with a buffer when I got home. During my service each finger placed in the UV light after the iv gel was placed burned so badly I had to take it out of the light and shake my hand, it was so painful. The tortoise design looks good from far away, however the nail art is bumpy and it was not smoothed out. Lastly, I did not see one ounce of barbicide or any indication that anything was being sanitized. The scrub brushes had one holder, no option to put into any sort of cleaning solution, and a pair of what appeared to be un sanitized cuticle scissors were used. Unfortunately I wasn't able to bring this up to my nail technician due to language barrier. I ended up paying $145 without tip today, and feeling ripped off. I feel disappointed.

They have rescheduled on me on multiple occasions they have switched nail tech on me without even letting me know ahead of time&I receive text messages on my phone saying that the nail techs are switched. Im nurse customer service is key & I have been very accommodating never rude nasty when this has occurred. I'm never late. Never had issues paying&tipped very well. As a nurse I had a last-minute emergency at work&called to reschedule my appointment for the next day. I called at 12:45 for a 4 PM appointment I was told that I was going to be marked as a no-show. They would keep my deposit. I had to make another appointment and another deposit to see the nail tech the next day. I explained Im a nurse. This was an emergency at my job that I've never canceled before&that I've always been completely understanding every time they have last-minute issues. So I expressed to them if I had to figure out a way to rearrange my job to make the appointment today to not lose my deposit, I would look for another nail salon after or if I was unable to make it, and they were going to insist on charging me that I would dispute it with my credit card because this is just inexcusable that you're calling them hours ahead of time with an emergency&there's no wiggle room. They agreed to refund my money& cancel it&not put it as a no-show, but then proceeded to be extremely unprofessional treating me as if I was like an ex-girlfriend or something. They decided to text me and say that they were refunding me my money at no point did they say I couldn't reschedule or get my nails done what they did instead was block my phone number and block me Online booking so I couldn't reschedule my appointment. When I called from a different number the receptionist said he did not have to tell me I can't book with them anymore that is was my fault and choice when I said I would dispute a charge. This place is wild&unprofessional and like I said it's a shame because their nail techs are good let's see how long they last with this type of customer treatment. It's always your own people I was so happy to support a Spanish salon.
