I mention this at the end, but I want to mention it here too. HE DELETES ALL UNFAVORABLE GOOGLE REVIEWS. So be careful! But to sum it up, aside from 4 blueprint errors (yep), once the house was framed and the drywall went up, everything went wrong. Everything. Plumbing (toilets, faucets, well). This guy must NOT have passed Plumbing 101. ALL flooring. I repeat. ALL. Hardwood scratched. Vinyl (tear and exposed subflooring in 2 rooms) Wrong color kitchen tile grout ordered and applied. (Argued for MONTHS, and he even tried to blame ME for the mixup.) Then too-soft kitchen tile grout. Parts are still soft and sandy grit comes off when I wipe the floor. 'You're rubbing/wiping too hard.' Carpet seams visible in 2 rooms. CRUNCHY carpet. I have a video of my 'noisy' carpet somewhere. I do NOT recommend Martin's Flooring either. Their work is sloppy, and they will only follow Angelo's orders. There were a few who were conscientious, but most weren't. Exposed ductwork. HVAC registers located haphazardly. Don't expect a level to be used in every circumstance (outlets, pedestal sink top tilted, bathroom exhaust fan crooked). He'll just eyeball it. Windows. Regarding the windows, he always sent sales and suppliers out, never servicemen, denied problems, and even denied ME the opportunity to hire an Andersen-trained and certified serviceman to assess on my behalf. 'It'll get banged up anyway.' 'Maybe YOU damaged it.' (with a grin) 'It's within industry standards.' (whatever the h*ll that means...no standards?...as I've yet to see any textbook ) 'Lifetime (hardwood) warranty' which he refuses to honor. I hadn't even accepted the keys yet, so this should never have even fallen under any warranty. Cabinets separating from each other and the walls. Bowed windowsills. Loose/cracked/poorly mitered trim. He even installed the side splashes upside-down and backwards (master bath vanity). Be aware he does ALL cabinetry and trim work himself. This builder though is a shoddy, short-tempered, amateur DIY-er at best. Dishonest. Manipulative. Greedy. Filed bankruptcy at one point and was just starting over when I hired him. I even refused the house and only took ownership when final payment came due as he was threatening a lien against my home. A BBB complaint was filed early on, regretfully withdrawn. Why did I withdraw it? Because he was having a temper tantrum inside my house over it. The things I paid for were being treated like trash.
