Staff - the owner Ann and our teacher, Christina are absolutely amazing. 2 of our kiddos attended their classes for ~3 years and we loved the overall experience. Use of different medias, the overall process, availability of camps and even showcasing your kids' artwork at the local library or Art Center - are all amazing things that we experienced here. Our kids absolutely loved coming in and spending every Monday creating. COVID was a challenge for everyone, but Ann and Christina put together an amazing plan to engage with students virtually. While most extra curriculum activities (i.e. sports) were not available, Mosaic Arts Loft provided needed activity to our kids and they were looking forward to their weekly classes. If you are looking at options for your kids in the area - I highly recommend them. Mini's is amazing and I whole heartedly recommend parents/grandparents/etc. to bring their newborn to 3 year olds for this weekly playgroup even if you don't plan on having your children attend the school. It's very relaxed and you can come to as many or as few playgroups as you want. We sing songs in German, read books, have playtime that includes fun activities and gym time, and more. It's a wonderful way for new moms to get out of the house in a controlled and clean environment. And I'm sure once the kids get a bit older, a great place to get some fun activities in without the mess at home. I've found it so helpful to get myself speaking more German at home to my little one and he LOVES going every week.

They service newborns though after school care in Elementary. Our two year old comes home saying please and thank you and knowing his numbers and letters so well. They are so good with kids and teach them way more than we ever expected even from very young ages. Honest review here from a parent - they are the best and been the best decision ever to have our kids here. I see notes that they don't have locking doors - but they do! They installed them and they are very safe and I have no concerns about the doors locking and safety of the kids inside. I also see notes about dirty - and I do not feel this is true. Yes the place is not brand new, but it is absolutely clean and they do a great job cleaning toys everyday here as well to keep kids from spreading germs. They have wonderful outdoor areas for kids to play on structures and run around, ride bikes, or shoot hoops.

Nothing is ever cleaned and your kid will come home sick every week! Not sure how they pass inspections or licensing. Teachers are unhappy, you can see it on their face. Some of the classrooms are like a chaotic zoo. No structure, no discipline. My kid was so happy to leave she made me promise to never take her back. That's how bad it is. Stay away. All the other local schools are 100x better & cheaper!! Wish I could give 0 star. Oh and the owner is absentee. Never ever responds to emails or even knows you or your child. I saw her maybe 3x total in 1.5 years and she never even looked up from her laptop to give a welcoming smile. But once they misplaced my email and she was finally emailing me. Surprise surprise when she wants her $ she will magically become available. Btw they had misplaced my check and were trying to charge me a late fee even though I paid 4 days in advance!!

Especially for Kindergarten. We wanted and needed a full day Kindy and there wasn't one available at our local public school at that time. She was really ready, she was already reading and doing some math. Princess got Mandarin classes,music, sign language, soccer instruction, basketball, handwriting practice, all kinds of exposure to various media... the teachers were mostly fabulous,the playground was good, and we felt it was clean and safe if not a bit stuck up. ( sorry, but true). All in all it was a good experience. She would tell you she liked the Pre-K and kindergarten parts fine, but after first grade they "treated (her) like a baby" and she did not like that part. We didn't bring her back for the summer after 2nd grade, although we could have. We also found out after the fact that some of their snacks were less than desirable. Um, Twinkies? really? But, I have to reiterate, safe and for the most part, very good. She and her friends from Goddard liked one of their teachers so much that they talked him up in First Grade and the First Grade teacher invited him to come to their class and read the class a story and hang out with them. That was pretty special. How often does that happen, really? and the kids STILL talk about him and his visit. Sweet.

My kids have attended this center for nearly a year and we have overall been very happy with the…read morecare they receive. Pros: - The teachers here are absolutely AMAZING! We have had the pleasure of working with most, and they are all kind and attentive to the students, but also very good at correcting and redirecting negative behavior. They respect the kids and make them feel loved and safe. My kids adore their teachers and so do we. Also the teachers are really good at honoring your requests (e.g. put on hats during outside time, change outfits during the day, apply cream at diaper change, etc.) - The new owner runs a tight ship and she cares about her business, teachers and the families they serve. We have found her to be respectful, reasonable and fair (for example, when they had to close the center due to power outages during winter storms, they adjusted their spring calendar to instead offer us care for a few of their spring professional development days). She is also always looking to improve her center and actively seeks feedback from parents. - They have a structured and detailed curriculum and do fun and educational activities with the kids every day. - I think they have pretty good hand-washing policy in the classrooms because kids don't get sick as often as they used to. -The food they provide is not gourmet, but definitely much better than the food offered at many other chain schools. They offer fresh, fruit twice daily and the food they serve is a mix of fresh, frozen and canned ingredients. The amount of sugar, carbs and processed food they offer is not too much in my opinion. They make most of the meals on site and they look and smells good. - This is a new SafariKid location and the building is newly renovated. So, naturally the toys, carpets, walls, etc. areclean and fresh. - The app they use is good and they share fun and detailed information about the kid's day and activity and you get to see pictures/short videos of them. Also, teachers are usually pretty quick in responding to you on the app if you post questions or requests. - They take the kids outside twice a day most days, and they have a covered area for when it is raining. - injuries and incidents are reported in a timely manner and with necessary details. - They offer sibling discount. - They have parent-teacher conferences twice a year to hear about how your kid is doing in class, and they have family activities planned for holidays and other occasions (e.g. Mother's day, Christmas, Easter, etc.) where you can interact with teachers and see your kids classroom Minor cons/notes: - I think this center is relatively expensive, and they require you to pay 1 month worth of tuition upfront upon enrollment. They also have a few misc. other fees (supply fee, registration fee, etc.). - They are closed most holidays and several days for professional development, Christmas-new year break, etc. This makes sense given that they are technically a preschool, but it's an adjustment if you are used to a daycare that is open every day. - Sometimes teachers forget to enter all the diaper changes/potty in the app. So, you won't necessarily know exactly how many times your kid pooped, for example. Not a huge deal, but sometimes this information is helpful when you are dealing with constipation, etc. - The outdoor space they have is not super green (no trees or greenery, just wood chips and toys). Also, the toddler outdoor space doesn't have much shade in the afternoon during the summer time, so the kids had to play in the scorching heat. - I think their hours are from 8am-5:30pm, and they don't serve breakfast (only morning snack is at 10am), so not great for those occasional days when you need to get a head start on your day or need some extra time at the end of the day. Again, this is in line with them being a pre-school, but it is something to consider. - They have a policy that drop off/pick up happens at the door and a chaperone takes your kid to and from the class. We were worried that our kids would freak out and it would be difficult to convince them to leave us at the door. This has not been the case and I feel like drop offs are now much faster and easier than before. In fact, our boys are always happy to go to their class and sometimes they go in without saying bye to us! It may be a bigger issue for kids that are younger and/or are new to the care. Also, I feel like the main con of this policy is that is reduces the chances you have to casually talk to the teacher about your kid, and getting to know the teacher. It feels a bit like you are isolated from the kids/teachers and you don't get to see the classroom and the space they spend their days. You are technically allowed to walk in when your child is in their care, but the door is always locked and it is clear that they do not expect you to come in under normal circumstances.

Update: I had a call back from the manager days after this…read morereview, they must have gone through their list of touring parents to match my name with the review - creepy! Please be aware that this review is based on the tour that I did with my child and that I have no experience of day to day operations of this place. First impression stepping in is that it is dirty, there are dirty boots in the entry and the the entire place could have done with a good scrubbing. After being told they have approx. 80 kids attending at this school it kind of made sense that floors will get dirty quickly. If first impression was bad the worst was yet to come. The layout is poorly planned and I don't think the building was designed to hold so many children. There is clothing and other stuff everywhere which gives a very messy and cluttered impression. The classrooms are small for the amount of children and I don't what to think of how noisy and stressful it must be, for the smaller children during early morning/afternoon as they host kids from 8 different elementary schools. When I visited what would be my daughters class room they where just about rolling out the TV. Apparently they have DAILY "film time" session as a part of their curriculum. I also got to see when they served lunch, which a very saddening experience in itself. Not only was the portions tiny for an active growing children but the food itself was a gray unidentifiable "soup" served with some very dry pieces of carrot and 1/2 sausage bun. None of the kids seemed enthusiastic about it (who can blame them). No wonder we have failing school results and soaring obesity rates in this country when this is how we educate and feed our children. My heart goes out to the little ones and I feel for the families that might not have other options than to leave their kids in these type of facilities. The teachers (including the one giving the tour) was all very friendly and I do not doubt their good intentions but they seemed very tired and stressed out. To me the state of the place and the TV/lunch situation is a clear indication that the teachers don't have enough time/energy/resources to keep up with the high number of children.

When we arrive to drop her off, she immediately starts talking about her friends. Her teachers have all been fabulous and we love that she's learning Spanish at such a young age. On the administrative side, Melanie and Delany are proactive in communicating and are always so helpful when we have any questions. Turquoise Learning Tree certainly feels like a second family to us!
