Instead of a refreshed balayage, my hair now looks completely different--darker, dull, and way overly brassy. This is not what I asked for, and it has ruined the dimensional color I had. I look sickly with this orange hair and the only option I have is either to bleach my hair again and damage it or darken it to a dark brown with no dimension. Either way I'll be waiting months to a year to start over and get the look I've been working towards. With this, they are not apologetic and don't take accountability. Don't go here!!

Cassandra is my go to girl. She does WONDERS with colour. I'm always satisfied after a visit with Cassandra. She is always so friendly and talkative, it's like we've been friends forever lol. In fact, EVERYONE at the salon is very friendly. They are always so welcoming. You just feel really comfortable at the salon. They always offer you tea, water or coffee. I contacted Medulla to fix the botched job and Liz fixed me up. And didn't judge me at all for straying!!! Will never go to another place for colour. Medulla is just top notch. They are expensive, but completely worth it. Edited to add: the noise volume in the salon is very low; they play music that is not abrasive, and they play it at a low volume. I don't enjoy salons with super loud, abrasive music that you have to shout over (I'm old lol). I'm generally tired, so I really appreciate the chill vibes here as well.

Holly recommended that instead of colouring my roots she would do the balyage in such a way that the greys would be almost camouflaged and I would not need to touch up roots as often. This has totally worked so far. I go back for a gloss (toner) every 6-8 weeks just to refresh the tone of the hair but other than that my greys are there but less visible. The balyage is very natural looking which is what I was going for. And my hair does not feel like it has been over processed afterwards. I highly recommend this place, they definitely know what they are doing when it comes to colouring dark hair. The only complaint I have is that when you have people sitting there for over 3 hours for a balyage, maybe offer them a drink more often than once, or even a small snack. It would help a lot. Also maybe some charging stations for peoples phones. Most people bring their own, but once I forgot it. Just the small things to make the time go by would be a nice touch.

I heard about Studio Fontana on a Facebook group. The lady quoted me a price under $130 for dye, cut and style. When I arrived at the salon they were behind schedule. The lady met me and was really friendly. She then began to do my hair. After she washed out the dye I noticed my roots were still very dark and I asked her some questions about my hair. She then revealed, she used a temporary dye on my hair (what??? Are you kidding me!!) and she is going to charge me more to re-dye my hair because she will now have to use more dye and it will come out of her pocket. Okay, so now I'm being charged for her mistake?? If she did it right the first time, I wouldn't be in this situation. No salon has ever used temporary dye on my hair. Now, instead of leaving at a normal hour, I was stuck waiting for her to finish my hair until midnight. During the 6 hours I was stuck at this salon I was famished. I wanted to eat dinner but could not because I was sitting in the salon. I also didn't want to eat dinner at midnight since it was time for me to schlep home and go to bed. Any who, my hair looked good when I left the salon but the next day something glorious happened. After I went in the shower (the stylist said this was okay) the dye ran out of my hair and I had no more dye in my hair. My hair faded in one wash! Was this really permanent dye? I really don't think so! I've dyed my hair for years and have never experienced anything like this. I would honestly NEVER return to this salon. Yes, the lady was nice but I've never had my hair fade in one day. This was a horrible experience and I had to go pay another salon to fix their mistake. Talk about a pricy haircut and dye job.
