The staff are great, too. They give one the feeling that the whole practice put patients first. I believe that Dr. Wei was motivated to become a rheumatologist because his beloved aunt suffered from rheumatoid arthritis, and that caring attitude typifies the way he treats his patients. He wants them to get better, and he is always searching for the best solutions for each person he treats. He is always up-to-date on new research, as well. He is clearly very skilled and knowledgeable, and he immediately instilled confidence. Having this surgery was a major decision, and Dr. Gwinn put me at ease, and I believe I made the right decision choosing him for this procedure. I also have nothing but good things to say about his PA. If you choose MMI, you will likely receive quality medical care. Now, the bad: Quite literally, everything else. I have never experienced this much frustration dealing with a medical office staff. Communication is pretty much nonexistent, and when you do reach someone, most of the time they pass the buck, say your issue is not their department, and then blind-transfer you to a voicemail box. That voicemail will not be returned. You will have to call back over and over again, and even after explaining that your voicemail was never returned, you will simply be blind transferred to the same voicemail again, ad nauseam. This is true of scheduling, medical questions and concerns, administrative issues, etc. This is beyond frustrating, especially while recovering from major surgery and navigating other issues such as FMLA concerns. Also, if you need any forms filled out, they will nickel-and-dime you. Need a one-pager stating that you are medically fit to return to work after FMLA, that's $10, need another form, that's $10, even if you download it digitally. I'm not really concerned about the small fee, but it seems petty, especially considering I'm continuing to have and pay for follow-ups with the doctor. It's just another example of a top-down culture that seems to be anything but customer-focused. Again, I'm grateful for the quality medical care I've received from Dr. Gwinn. That being said, I think the way this practice is run is detracting from that care. As frustrating as the totality of my experience has been with MMI, it's unlikely I would recommend the practice to a friend, family member, or colleague.

But then they isolated me in a separate room with a large industrial grade hepa filter and basically treated me like a leper. Seems to be a huge over reaction as we are not in any kind of pandemic. They were extremely rude and irritated when I asked them about it. Additionally, when I was sick over the last 2 weeks, they refused to see me, couldn't get a sick appointment. Requested to see the manager during my visit today and was told prior to the visit that he would be there and it would be no problem to meet with him. Of course he wasn't there when I was there. Practice is poorly managed with rude staff and poor communication. Would not recommend this practice.

However, it has been over 122 hours since my MRI and the physician's report has not been completed or sent to my referring doctor. The website claims 24 hours. The front desk said it "usually is done in 24-48" hours. But here I am over 5 days later without any answers. After having my insurance company come and threaten action on their part, I was finally told that my scan would be read in the next hour. So I'm not sure if I recommend them or not. I say go at your own risk of not getting results in a timely manner

Tim was awesome and explained what he would be doing and how the procedure worked. He was also very very caring and asked why I was there as far as what was going on with my body and bid me a get better and hope everything works out as I left! As scared as I was this being my first MRI the staff there made me feel very at home and comfortable which made this go like a breeze!!! Thank FR you all are the best in my book!!!
