At least it offers a terrific view of the NYC skyline after exiting the Lincoln Tunnel on a clear day. I do have to say that the bus runs frequently, is on time both ways, and drops off right in front of the Expo center. I took it early afternoon to attend an event at the Meadowlands Expo Center and had no problems getting there and back. The bus was pretty empty both ways. Made a few stops and that was it. A little confusing finding the correct gate at the Port Authority but no biggie. Serves it's purpose well enough.

This station is much less crowded than Plainfield Station (next station heading west) and is in a safer area of Plainfield. They have no ticket machines so you must buy your ticket on the train. If you tell the conductor you got on at this station they will not charge you the $5 surcharge for buying it on the train. If you are traveling to New York Penn Station you will have to change trains at Newark Penn Station. The cost to New York is $10 each way. There is an electronic board that announces when (or how long) before the train is arriving. Track 1 goes west and track 2 goes east. There is an underpass to get across the tracks. If you are on the south side (track 2) by the building there is a nice description of the station's history posted on the southwest corner of the building.

The ticket machines are only located on the south side of the tracks (where the old stationshouse is). The south side tracks are the Newark-bound tracks. Also, there are some midday trains that now go directly to NY Penn Station, a one-seat ride. If you have a ticket to Newark, you can pay the extra $4 on board without penalty.

I always make sure to buy a ticket because police officers like to get on the train from time to time and they check everyone tickets. Overall, this train is well kept and clean. Spending most of my life a little further north, New Brunswick train station was my go to. The parking lots there charge hourly unless you can find street parking or it's Sunday. This being a cheap option, especially since most are still on a hybrid commuting schedule, it may also be an option to not have to get a parking permit, so that's a win! The station is well lit and there is a nice amount of traction during commuting hours which is nice so you don't feel alone. The platform is outside so dress appropriately for the weather.

As the ONLY train station in Princeton Junction, maybe it's time to update my review. Pre-pandemic this station was subject to horrendous overcrowding and grossly inadequate parking for the Wall Street bedroom community money changers that rose pre-dawn for their daily migration into lower Manhattan. Currently, with WFH still lingering and the exit of many financial houses to the tax free climes of Florida, parking is far easier and in true close the barn door after the horses have run off fashion, a new multi-level parking deck is being constructed to accommodate the waning demand. As for the station, I would offer that clubbing and reverie is not what you're here for. A small coffee shop, ticket machines and wooden benches are your VIP amenities and IF (and it's a big if) the trains are on-time it's 60 minutes (more or less) into the bowels of Penn Station. All aboard, or should I just say, bored. Decent and functional snares four stars for the Junction. In any case, it still beats driving by a mile.

The NYC subway system originally operated as three separate, competing companies [IRT - Interborough Rapid Transit; BMT - Brooklyn-Manhattan Transit; IND - Independent Subway System] before unifying in 1940. Numbered trains represent former IRT lines, whereas lettered trains represent former BMT and IND trains. Opening in 1918, this station was part of the extension of the dual contracts: an agreement between the City of New York and two private companies to build additional lines in Brooklyn. This station was built as an extension into Manhattan. In 2023, the station was renamed to included Stonewall (riots) in the name. The underground station has 2 side platforms and 4 tracks (middle ones being express, not stopping at this station).
