Make sure you check the monitors first to find which set of stairs to take since they all led to different ones and backtracking will take time. I missed seeing the Art Deco main hall which I should've known. It would've been a lot nicer versus the questionable stairwell (looks and smell) I climbed. No staff was around when I got to the track level so I found the monitors with train schedules and went from there. All track entrances used tap to pay so that made it easier to use the train. Trains left on time and I missed boarding by a few seconds due to someone having technical difficulties in front. However there were frequent trains to WTC so didn't have to wait long. It was only $3.25 to reach the WTC station. Besides local trains and buses, Amtrak also used this station to connect to the rest of the east coast.

I have taken it so many times over the years and today I used it again to head to Brooklyn. The trains come often and it is one of those stations where you never feel like you are waiting forever. I like that it has elevators, escalators, and stairs because it makes getting around simple no matter what you need. The station feels safe every time I am there. There are always people around, from commuters to families to tourists passing through. The area is full of visitors because there are so many NYC attractions nearby, so it never feels empty or isolated. The neighborhood around it is lively with Battery Park, the Statue of Liberty ferries, the Charging Bull, and the whole Financial District right there. It is clean, bright, and easy to navigate, and it has become one of the stations I rely on the most when I am moving around the city.

The station features rotating display of photographic artwork! It showcases rarely seen views of the MTA bridges through illuminated lightboxes in the mezzanine. There are a variety of routes that runs through the MTA - Bowling Green Subway Station 4 Train - runs all times, stopping at Bowling Green on its way between the Bronx and Brooklyn 5 Train - Runs all times except late nights. On certain late nights, the 5 does not serve Bowling Green, where the services ends at the Brooklyn Bridge City Hall This is a great station, and it's right next to the Staten Island Ferry!

As did countless others. I suppose that is why they have staff standing at the stations yelling which tram is going where. Kind of cracked me up, but if you don't know English, it might not be as funny. Once I arrive at the train station, my train was cancelled. And the times on the screens did not match the times on the NJ Transit schedule (both on their printed and displayed schedule and on their website), so I also found that pretty confusing. Once you enter the train station area, you cannot go back into the main vestibule where there is a pop-up Dunkin' Donuts. Also a bit frustrating when you consider all the confusion and cancellations. However, the staff their were nice and helpful, as many people were confused. Plus, noshing on some Dunking while being delayed is better than noshing on nothing.

I think was more economical than taking an Uber/Lyft, but more importantly the time would have been constant. Don't have to worry about traffic jams or accidents to make the commute time unpredictable. That's the good part. The bad part is that the train seems kind of old and dirty. There's no digital billboard/message system to show you the system map, where you are and what the next stop is. And they didn't even announce the stops on the intercom. I did my homework ahead of time and knew how many stops there were in between EWR and NY Penn Station. Then we went underground and I assumed this was us going under the Hudson River. And as we approached Penn Station and the train was slowing down I was looking around for a sign to confirm I was in the right place. A passenger shouldn't have to know all the stops ahead of time or look out the window to see where they're at. NJ Transit needs to improve in this area.

The station itself is pretty clean and manned well even though some vagrants hang out along JFK Blvd by the Duane Reade now and then. On another note, there's lots of construction and building going on around the station and area seems up and coming so there's room for improvement.

Even though my home is in Queens, I still use this station to visit my parents' home. I have a love-hate relationship with this train station. For it is not a major or express stop on the N line and it is often overlooked. This station is 100 years old and in need of a facelift. Rumor has it that MTA is planning to fix up the N train stations from Coney Island to 59th Street. While this will cause major service disruptions and prolonged commute to the city, I will cross my fingers that two to three years later that it will be beautify and service will be better. You can only hope for the best, right?

It's undergone some renovations I think, though mainly surface level? I don't know. Doesn't seem like much. It's not a large platform per se. There are two entrances. Most know the main one, but there's a side entrance near one of the high rises that can end up getting you to the proper part of the platform if you'd like to optimize time. Other than that, expect the usual stuff that one would usually expect.
