These folks helped me loaded my Packrat containers for an interstate move. I cannot recommend them highly enough. I dealt with the owner from the start; he came out to the house to look at everything that was going and came with two of his employees on the day before the container was picked up. They got everything done (and more that I hadn't thought of) quickly and efficiently and were pleasant to have around. They charge by the hour plus materials and I actually ended up paying less than their estimate. Worth every penny! I am not a fan of moving, it is stressful to pack everything you own and then trust it to someone else to move it in great shape. I have about 10 moves under my belt from in-town to out-of-state. For an in-town move in NOLA, these guys ended up 4th on my preferred short list after doing my research. There really were not many reviews out there for them. They were however, the only ones who could fit me in short notice. So they got the job... They showed up 15 minutes early in a well outfitted and clearly labelled truck. They were all in uniforms and clean cut. They were very friendly and wrapped and padded each piece of furniture far better than any other movers I have ever used. I moved the equivalent of a 1 bedroom place with lots of boxes in two hours flat from start to finish included travel to destination. They never stopped working the whole time and took great care of everything. They also gave me great tips on protecting my furniture while storing. I found the cost very reasonable and will be using them again for any future moving needs. read more

I found this company through a promotion on Angie's List and pre-paid a minimum of 6 man-hours at a reduced rate. After having moved twice in the last few months I couldn't bear to look at another box (and had rib issues) but I had a small storage pod that needed to be unloaded at our new house and a few other things to move but figured that would probably be it. Well, 3 guys showed up (they did show up about a half hour late) but once they were here they worked their asses off, lifting heavy boxes and appliances up 2 and 3 flights of stairs. They worked straight through for 3 hours, moving an entire 2 car garage full of heavy things and they were professional, polite and careful with the items as well as the furniture in the house. I was hugely impressed. Best $$ I ever spent. read more

This was our first experience hiring movers and after reading many company reviews and recommendations I was nervous as to how it would turn out. This moving company was highly recommended in our area and I now see why. They were fantastic and professional! We were supposed to have a crew of four but they called early saying one of their crew didn't show up and made sure the job could be done with three and adjusted the price. They showed up on time and got to work quickly. They took care with all of our items, were polite and worked so hard! It was so hot and we had a big job including lots of stairs. They never complained and took minimal breaks. We had one accident but it was minimal and truly an accident, not due to lack of care. They offered to pay for the repair, no questions asked. Toward the end of the day, they even had an additional crew show up after finishing another job to help finish our job quicker. This is 100% a family company, father and sons worked our job and you can see they take pride in their work. Highly recommend and would definitely hire them again! We've moved several times and this was by far the least stressful experience thanks to the Arthur Perez movers! read more

While everything got to our house safely and intact, the movers were not particularly efficient and tended to complain a lot about the flight of stairs in our house. I'm visibly pregnant and ended up moving many of the items up the stairs myself because the movers said they didn't want to go up the stairs again. We had everything boxed and ready to go for the move but the transport took several hours longer than we expected. The movers took several smoke breaks and stopped to get something to eat between the two houses. Breaks are totally expected but we didn't like being charged for that time. Overall, it was a really hot day and the guys got everything in safely. But I don't think we would do this again, particularly since it wasn't an efficient process. We also were contacted at any point to confirm the appointment or when they were arriving the morning of the move. read more

I have nothing but great things to say about these guys. Their estimate was within 30 minutes of the actual time it took to move us. They were on time and very efficient. We have moved too many times to count, so we are not new to this. Nothing was broken or damaged. No walls were dinged nor floors scratched. The four man crew worked very hard with no complaints. How they carried the heavy stuff up all the stairs is beyond me. It took 7.5 hrs to move a ridiculous amount of stuff from MidCity to Lakeview. Just a great experience. They were very careful with my glass counters and drove my items from NOLA to BR. Very reasonably priced and extremely professional. I recently booked them again to move one of my retail stores in Metairie, and they too extra care to wrap my merchandise to protect it from falling in the truck. Perez Movers stepped in when another mover, arranged through U-Haul's moving help.com, didn't show up to load a 20 foot U-haul with furniture from a one-bedroom condo. This was on December 30, so holidays were in full swing and moving companies were short of staff. Chris, Joseph and Lance were wonderful. They arrived early, worked continually, loaded our U-haul truck so well that nothing slipped over the 1400 miles of travel from New Orleans to the Bronx. I don't know what we would have done if they hadn't found time for us during that busy period. The first no-show guy created a nightmare for us, and we had to delay our closing from 8am to 4:30 pm, meaning we had to drive overnight to our first stop to keep our schedule. I now see that Perez Movers is accredited by the Better Business Bureau and has had no complaints recorded. We made the mistake of just looking at online reviews of the no-show guy and trusted U-Haul to only recommend reliable movers. We had had good experience with moving help.com in the past, but wouldn't trust their list of movers again. read more
