I don't usually write reviews, but Dr. Arthur Uyesugi and his team truly deserve one. For a long time, I had been dealing with ear problems, pressure, hearing issues, and a lot of uncertainty about what was causing them. Dr. Uyesugi took the time to listen, answer my questions, and explain everything in a way that made sense. What impressed me most was not only his knowledge and experience, but also the fact that he genuinely cared about finding the right solution instead of rushing through appointments. I recently had a Eustachian tube dilation procedure, and I am very grateful for the care I received. Dr. Uyesugi made me feel comfortable and confident throughout the entire process. His professionalism and expertise are second to none. I also want to thank audiologist Melina Garay for all the effort she put into helping me. She was patient, thorough, and took my concerns seriously. It was clear that she wanted to make sure my hearing issues were properly evaluated and addressed. The entire staff was wonderful as well. Everyone was friendly, professional, and always willing to help. From scheduling appointments to follow-up care, they made the whole experience much easier. When you are dealing with hearing and ear problems, it can be frustrating and stressful. Having a team that truly listens and works hard to help you makes all the difference. I am very thankful to Dr. Uyesugi, Melina Garay, and the entire staff for the excellent care they provided. Fantastic experience, very caring, listened and responded to all of my questions and concerns.

I came in for fullness in my hear for almost two month / tinnitus. I felt like Dr U did not listen to any thing I had to say about my symptoms and continued to suggest other theories for my problem and disregard what I had to say. He insisted I was having migraines, though no systems of such. I'm familiar with migraines. I still went with his medication plan for migraines. Three visits and each time having to remind him of my issue and correct what he thought was the problem. The last visit he prescribed muscle relaxers and pain medicine. Still with the migraine meds- having me take 3 RXs at night. He seems to just like to push pills. I even just took some antibiotic I had for a few days and my problem finally went away. I do not recommend this doc, very dismissive. read more

I went to this ENT while in significant pain and confusion about my symptoms, hoping for a careful exam and clear explanation. Instead, the visit felt rushed, dismissive, and physically rough. Throughout the appointment, communication felt abrupt and fast-talking. His assessment was aggressive and not explained well - he inserted a tube down my nose into my throat without explaining what he was doing, offering any numbing spray and yanked it out so hard my nose bled. I was talked over when trying to explain my symptoms, and when I asked how his diagnosis fit what I was experiencing, I felt dismissed rather than heard. He didn't even look in my ears, or look at my eyes (which were red and swollen and ears that had a sharp pain and were part of my overall symptoms). I understand that physicians are busy and that procedures sometimes need to be done efficiently. But explanation, consent, and basic empathy are not optional. What upset me most was not the diagnosis itself -- it was the lack of patient-centered care. I came in scared and in pain. I left feeling embarrassed for reacting to pain, and as though I had somehow inconvenienced him by needing clarification. If this doctor reads this, I hope he reflects on how easily a few moments of explanation, gentler technique, and genuine listening could transform the experience for patients who are already vulnerable. I was referred here by my primary and was very pleased. I was told by a different ENT in the area that I needed a balloon sinuplasty procedure but he told me it was completely unnecessary. We did some nasal sprays and neti pot and my problems went away! Highly recommend! read more

I had an absolutely amazing experience with dr. Arthur! I had an appt couple of months ago. I was having issues with dizziness and headaches and was seeing many different doctors who said this was normal. First of all he was on time which was very unusual. I wasn't even finised with the paperwork before he saw me. He said I had migraines which I was very skeptical at first but he went over his reasoning. I ended up taking the medication he prescribed and now actually feel normal. I am forever grateful! read more

I did not appreciate the way I was treated by Dr. Uyesugi - he was unprofessional, curt and inconsiderate seemingly on purpose. I arrived early with plenty of time to fill all their forms out but didn't even get a chance to do so. He never looked at any of my forms before examining me. Instead, he asked me questions and then seemed to get upset by my answers. He was very condescending. I actually filled their forms out before I left - leaving them at an empty reception desk. read more

This was an initial appointment arranged by the Veterans Administration Community Care for my persistent rhinitis and case of dysphagia. The doctor walked in without even introducing himself, then proceeded to recline in a chair with a clipboard. There was no expression or sense of urgency throughout the whole encounter, as he did not establish a rapport for the new relationship. He simply asked what the purpose of the appointment was, and I told him that I would like to have an evaluation for my rhinitis, as I have frequent nosebleeds and excessive mucus. In addition to my swallowing difficulties, I occasionally experience an irritating sensation in my throat, as if I had swallowed a cactus. He asked if I was taking medication, to which I replied to Fluticasone and Azelastine. He asked if that helped with my symptoms. I reply that it occasionally provides relief, but I was there to learn if there is a progressive condition occurring. He replied that it seems like the medication is working. I told him that the weather is starting to get hotter, which is when my symptoms start to increase. He just disregarded that statement and said that the bigger problem is just to look at my swallowing problem. He asked to perform a quick examination with a camera to look at my throat. He stated that he saw nothing unusual. He then suggested that I get a barium swallow test. I mentioned to him that I had a couple of them in the past. He offered no possible explanation as to why I may be experiencing this challenge. I mentioned that I needed some relief and was hoping for any type of explanation, as I served two tours in Iraq, during which I was exposed to toxic air. He had no real interaction with me, but just sat in that chair. I was very irritated at his lack of empathy or sense of urgency. I speculate that the look on my face caused him to say, "You're looking at me as if I am crazy...I can refer you to another doctor if you want." I responded that I have never experienced such unprofessionalism where a new doctor-patient relationship had no dialogue, which I consider a priority in giving my trust to someone who will be addressing my healthcare. It ended with the doctor just getting up, handing me the referral for the barium test, and then he walked out of the room. read more

My dad was referred to this office because he's had problems with vertigo that may be linked to issues with his ear. Check-in was easy, staff was very friendly, especially the young lady who did my dad's hearing test. Then we saw Arthur Uyesugi, who was not friendly from the beginning. My father who does not speak English well (the reason I was there with him) has a hard time hearing, and speaking. He struggled trying to understand the questions that was being asked about when his vertigo happened. I find it very hard to listen to my dad struggling so I tried to step in. Arthur's exact words, "I need him to answer." Towards the end of our visit, he had the audacity to say there was a language barrier! I was not happy with his condescending questions, and insinuating that I didn't understand his questions, when he wasn't asking the questions clearly/specifically.
