Yesterday they called him to remind him that his surgery date was Oct. 20th (it wasn't) and then verified that it was in fact scheduled for today, and then informed him he would need to be in at 6:00 am. Then they called and said he could actually come in at 12:00 as surgery wasn't until 1:00. This morning they called and said that they just noticed his cardiologist hadn't signed off on his EKG results (which were fine). My husband couldn't reach his cardiologist early this morning so once again his surgery is cancelled. The office called him 30 minutes later and said they spoke with the cardiologist and got clearance so he could come in for his surgery. At this point though my husband had already had a cup of coffee so couldn't have gone under anesthesia.This is a horribly run office and he definitely won't be rescheduling with this practice!

First things first, it is incredibly hard to find a surgical dermatologist. In this field it often seems like aesthetics over everything. Before the pandemic ruined everyone's life I was being seen at 2 practices in north jersey - the first one didn't seem to understand why I would be bothered that my alopecia spots weren't healing and the second practice stopped taking insurance after my second appointment. As each injection is hundreds of dollars lmao that promising relationship ended quickly. Healthcare for the rich indeed. For the last 5 years I've been managing the patchiness on my own to inconsistent effect. Recently, another unrelated issue requiring surgery kicked me into high gear to find a new provider. I sought recs from my local FB group, friends and family, etc but they all kept leading me down cottage skincare and other lanes. It was actually a good old-fashioned Google search that led me to Dr. Patel. Bravo on winning the SEO game! From the moment I called (and rescheduled thrice due to car trouble - dang it MINI), the office was welcoming, accommodating, and scheduling relatively quick appointments. On my first visit, Dr.Patel and his team were thorough, curious, and caring. I felt so comfortable with them and I felt like I mattered. In many ways women become "invisible" after age 40 - add race and body size to the mix and it can be difficult to get the care and compassion needed to navigate health challenges. Dr. Patel suggested I get a full blood work up - and actually caught my low iron and anemia. So many somatic mysteries cleared up just because someone listened and cared. I have a surgical procedure scheduled in a few weeks that will bring me immediate comfort and the topical meds and injections Dr. Patel is giving me have restarted hair growth in some persistent patchy spots. My son had two surgeries with dr Sparano to correct both functional and aesthetic issues .The…read morefirst surgery went wrong because a month after the operation, his nose went back to how it was before and my son couldn't breathe properly .The doctor then suggested doing a several procedures in his office to fix the problem , but none of them worked. He later recommended a second surgery to correct the issue, this time billing the insurance to cover the costs. However, the surgery also failed . My son has allergies and still can't breathe well, so I took him to another doctor who ordered X Rays. The images clearly show that his septum is still deviated .The new doctor advised against any further surgeries since my son has already undergone four failed procedures on his nose, and additional operations are not recommended . Having a cosmetic procedure which is not cheap and not getting the results you were promised is very disappointing .

I'm writing this review to warn others to stay away from this practice. Bear with me as I share my…read morestory. I wanted to get laser hair removal done on my face and decided to go to Dr Hamawy. His prices were higher than others but his positive reviews online made me feel like it would be worth it. I had gotten 6 sessions done by a woman practitioner named Nia. My skin reacted normally during each session with minimal discomfort and zero burns. During the 7th session, Nia was no longer working there and Dr Hamawy decided to lead the session. During this session the pain was excruciating. I asked Dr Hamawy if he was using the same intensity as Nia was and he confirmed. He proceeded to finish my face and neck and scurried out of the room without a single word. I left the practice in a significant amount of pain and drove home. Upon arriving home my parents saw my face and asked what happened. That's when I noticed the second degree burns under my chin on my neck. I emailed Princeton Plastic Surgeons asking them what I should do. They got back to me the following morning telling me that "It will be fine. Put Neosporin on it". I asked if they could prescribe me some mediation as the pain was unbearable. Adrienne confirmed that Dr Hamawy would prescribe me medication. However a full day went by and he did not prescribe any medication. I followed up with Adrienne several times and she was of no help. As a last resort my parents took me to the emergency room where I was treated for second degree burns. Three days later Dr Hamawy finally prescribed me medication. Apparently he was too busy up until then to follow up with his own patient. It has been six months since this unfortunate experience and I still have large scars. As an actress by profession these scars have made working very difficult. Dr Hamawy has still not called a single time to follow up. I went to this facility because of the positive reviews I read online. I hope by sharing my experience others can be spared by this inept "surgeon".
