This is a warning about gatekeeping and the way patients are treated during the intake process. I was handled unprofessionally, discriminatively, and blatantly gaslit during my intake. I called Dr. Momeni's office a total of three times to vet my insurance, the doctor, and his process before driving an hour for a consultation with Dr. Momeni. I spoke with two different women, including Shannon, and I was extremely thorough. I provided my specific UHC ID number and plan details. The first woman I spoke with told me they accept UHC "as an umbrella" no matter what the plan is. I didn't just take her word for it--I specifically asked for an official check to be efficient. She said sure, I know we take it but I'll "verify". She put me on hold and came back and said "Yes, we take your plan." I even called back a second time to double-check and was told "Yes" again. Momeni was scheduled as an early morning appt, I drove an hour, and took time out of my day. I filled out all the paperwork, gave insurance and Shannon came out and smugly announced they don't take my plan. Instead of treating me with kindness for their massive administrative error, she had a look of pure condescension and blamed me. She accused me of "putting myself in this position" by not disclosing my insurance--a flat-out lie since I gave them my ID number and they supposedly did an "official check" on it. When I responded that I would never do that, Shannon responded with a silent stare-down that lasted a full minute, and then said, 'We don't take your insurance' in a very stern, condescending voice. This was very disconcerting and patronizing. She behaved arrogantly and dismissive, as if she were trying to belittle me. It was frankly embarrassing to be treated with that kind of smugness after I had already double-checked my insurance with their office. And to be accused to deception is something that should have never happen. read more

Dr. Momeni is a quality surgeon who spends adequate time with patients, listens carefully to your needs, and even remembers specific queries months later, unprompted. He is a careful & talented surgeon and I really liked him. My husband was really impressed with him also. Most every member of his team, from the nurse to the anesthesiologist to the nurses were great. One single staff member was a mess because of her off the charts lackadaisical attitude, but she no longer works there. Every other person I met with was kind, professional and skilled. They really do care there and make you feel valued. I'd highly recommend to Dr. Momeni to anyone. He's a gem. read more

My experience with Dr.Momeni and his entire staff has been life changing. From the initial consultation I was met with professionalism and most importantly care. His staff made me feel comfortable, valued, and well informed. As a 24 year old, having the idea of Breast Reduction surgery was overwhelming. Even though it is something that I've wanted for years the idea of having a major surgery is scary. Dr.Momeni & his great staff held my hand through this process and made me feel at ease! I went to a Summit Medical Group surgeon in Florham Park. I paid a $125. consultation fee. The office was supposed to do their due diligence and get back to me with my out of pocket costs and other information. I waited...nothing. I called and spoke to people several times and was told they'd track down the information and get back to me...nothing. I then went to a second Summit Medical Group surgeon and asked if they'd wave the $125. consultation fee because I already paid it a short time ago to the other surgeon and I would get the documentation directly from them. I was told no. So, I wrote a letter to the SMG corporate office and told them that I thought this practice was unethical. I held up my end of the bargain, the SMG surgeon and their office staff didn't. I didn't understand why I had to pay that fee again. It took quite a while to hear back, but when I did it was agreed that I would not be billed again for an initial consultation. I ended up going to see Dr. Momeni in Basking Ridge. I paid so many thousands of dollars to SMG and to Dr. Momeni, I can't even say if a consultation fee was billed or not. Dr. Momeni, the office staff and surgical staff were nice. But, nice is not all you need when you're getting surgery. My end result is really bad. Not a little bad...but really bad. It was a complicated surgery, and I was not expecting a fabulous result. But this surgery has left me physically deformed. Dr. Momeni said he would help with the financial costs surrounding HIS fee if I wanted to have an additional surgery. But in the same breath he also made it clear that it is his job to make SMG money, so that was all he was willing to do. I was surprised that he didn't feel as though his job was to help and fight for his patients after a bad result. I certainly can't afford an additional surgery. So, I again contacted SMG corporate. I spoke with another nice person...Shaina Fraguela. She took my information and I sent her embarrassing photos. She said she'd get back to me. I waited while she did what she needed to do, and I finally heard back from her today. Bottom line...I signed forms prior to having surgery basically stating that if the surgery is unsuccessful neither the doctor nor SMG is accountable. Understand, please, that you can't have this surgery without signing these forms. I did not have an option. What a racket. My God. Kind of feels like I'm in a mafia movie or something. My question now is "Why was I given any hope at all in the first place"? Why did Shaina put me through the process when she surely knew the end result? Deny, deny, deny. Seems like a sick joke...having me think that I could possibly get the needed surgery and could stop walking around feeling and looking like a freak! But, in my case, SMG, their doctors and their patient relations coordinator are more concerned with their bottom line than their patient. Very sad! But very telling! As health care corporations get larger and larger, the less they seem to care about those they serve. My hope is that one day large conglomerates like these come crashing down and are put back in their place. Without patients, they would not exist. read more

My wife recently had a Mole extraction completed by Dr. Momeni. He was quick, professional, efficient, and really a true pleasure to be around. My wife is usually extremely anxious when it comes to procedures and his calm and professional demeanor put her at ease. The entire process was effortless. I saw Dr. Momeni for a rare condition of sunken chest. Very few plastic surgeons do this. I couldn't find any in Philadelphia where I live, so I came up here. Likewise, Dr. Momeni told me himself that several people with sunken chest come overseas for it. Given how rare this condition is, not only is Dr. Momeni knowledgeable but extremely skillful at it. There is a YouTube video where he performs the surgery that confirms he really know what he is doing. But aside from medical knowledge, he and his staff is very personable. From the beginning, they answered all of my questions regarding the treatment, side effects cost and post-surgery behavior. Likewise, the surgery went smooth and felt very little side effects. In a couple of weeks, I am coming to his office and happily obliging to be one of his success stories of treating for sunken chest as he takes pictures before and after my chest. But while my chest pictures may encourage others to see Dr. Momeni, I feel that it isn't enough. I must write here to let other know if you have sunken chest and is unhappy with it, you can get treatment and find yourself much happier with your chest appearance. read more

Was referred to Dr. Momeni by our dermatologist when a mark that was removed near the temple area on my young daughter's scalp turned up irregular and more of the area needed to be excised. Scary enough and given the location on her head, potential permanent scarring was also an issue. He had great bedside manner and did a terrific job. Now 1.5 years later you can barely see the area. Our experience with other doctors within Summit Medical has been awful but Dr. Momeni is definitely 5 star! read more

It's been almost 2 years since my rhinoplasty with Dr. Momeni. I can honestly say it was one of my biggest mistakes! I went in to correct a small hump in the bridge of my nose and today I'm left with a bigger problem then I could have ever imagined. I'm left with a hole big enough to fit a Q-tip through the inside of my septum. Not only is breathing an issue but the hole constantly cracks and bleeds A LOT, sometimes for more than an hour. I am incredibly unhappy and have trouble breathing. On top of it all, my nose makes a LOUD whistling sound when it gets too dry which is extremely embarrassing. Additionally, I've looked into correcting this issue with another doctor who is asking for $6,000. I paid Dr. Momeni over $8,000 to destroy my nose. read more

My dermatologist had given me a steroid injection into a scar on my leg to flatten it out, but I had a bad reaction to it and suffered fat atrophy. My thigh looked sunken in and discolored in that spot, and I was very self conscious. Dr. Momeni was the second plastic surgeon I saw about correcting this. He recommended that fat be transferred from my abdomen to my thigh to replace the fat that had atrophied. Since I hate anesthesia and am not very squeamish, Dr. Momeni allowed me to do the procedure in the office, so I was awake the whole time. It certainly wasn't fun to have liposuction and the fat injection while awake, but Dr. Momeni, his PA, and nurse Mary were so caring, careful, and professional. I would recommend them for any cosmetic procedure. I am very happy with the results so far and am so glad I had this procedure done after a year of being very self conscious about my leg. read more

Had a great experience with Dr. Momemi with my recent coolsculpting procedure done on my lower abdomen. I wanted to reduce the dreadful bulge left after my c-section. Dr momemi was honest, told me what to expect and he was spot on. Coolsculpting is good for someone who has realistic expectations and is already in their target weight zone. It is not for weight loss nor is it as effective as liposuction/surgery. It does work for those of us who need a little "help" but aren't willing to go the route of invasive surgery. Downtime was easy. Mild discomfort for 10 days. Still able to run after 5 days, but no core work for 10 but normal everyday stuff was not affected. Took 2-3 months to see difference. I don't have pics from before or after (doc does) but I'd recommend going to see dr momemi to see if you are a candidate for cool sculpting or not. He will be honest with you and won't waste your time or money. It's not for everyone. read more

As each injection is hundreds of dollars lmao that promising relationship ended quickly. Healthcare for the rich indeed. For the last 5 years I've been managing the patchiness on my own to inconsistent effect. Recently, another unrelated issue requiring surgery kicked me into high gear to find a new provider. I sought recs from my local FB group, friends and family, etc but they all kept leading me down cottage skincare and other lanes. It was actually a good old-fashioned Google search that led me to Dr. Patel. Bravo on winning the SEO game! From the moment I called (and rescheduled thrice due to car trouble - dang it MINI), the office was welcoming, accommodating, and scheduling relatively quick appointments. On my first visit, Dr.Patel and his team were thorough, curious, and caring. I felt so comfortable with them and I felt like I mattered. In many ways women become "invisible" after age 40 - add race and body size to the mix and it can be difficult to get the care and compassion needed to navigate health challenges. Dr. Patel suggested I get a full blood work up - and actually caught my low iron and anemia. So many somatic mysteries cleared up just because someone listened and cared. I have a surgical procedure scheduled in a few weeks that will bring me immediate comfort and the topical meds and injections Dr. Patel is giving me have restarted hair growth in some persistent patchy spots. The esthetician, Luba, has treated them and they are now almost indiscernible. Dr. Fodero and Luba have also done microneedling facials with PRP. The results are remarkable. I also have my eyebrows waxed and tinted, get derma-planing, chemical peels and laser skin treatments. Luba is extremely knowledgeable about skin care and products. I follow her advice to the letter. .Dr. Momeni was recommended by my GYN for a breast reduction and I'm glad she did. During the consultation, he explained everything in detail, listened carefully to my wishes and the reason for surgery. On the day of surgery he was more excited and pumped than I was. I was super nervous but the entire team assured me that I was in good hands. He called the day of surgery in the evening to make sure I was ok but I was already asleep. The day after he was pleased with the results, and really wanted me to see the differences, even thought I was in too much pain to look. Mary, Claire and all the other staff members are caring and super sweet. I can't say enough about them. They took care of my stiches and explained everything in detail. Mary was super! She was my little angel whenever I had a visit. She was super positive from the consultation all the way to my last appointment. I have never done any surgery procedures except removing my wisdom tooth. Dr. Momeni was the 4th consult I received within 2 years. Because of my previous health condition, i was also reluctant with doing such a major procedure. I was eager to plan out my new body but it was important to have a Doctor that I felt comfortable with. I've been seeing Dr. Reza Momeini since November of 2016 for severe acne scarring. My sister had been seeing him for some other skin treatments and recommended me to him, and it was the best recommendation ever! His staff and himself are very kind and listen to your goals and also tell you realistically what you can expect. They are very honest with you and will work with you to make you happy with your results. I've been going to him for 3 years now and have been treated with Fraxel laser and Sculptra Fillers for the few areas which have lost collagen from scarring. The results are steady and effective. The best part is the sort of alligator like scarring turns more into a smooth skin surface over time. With my acne scarring, I had not just the change in texture with collagen loss but also a change in coloring. The results I've had have made it so you wouldn't look at me and immediately think I had severe acne in my history... Whereas before seeing him, it was quite obvious. Receiving fabulous cosmetic results is an important factor in any plastic surgery procedure. However, it isn't the only factor when choosing a doctor. The interactions with his staff prior to surgery and post operative are extremely important as well. Dr. Momeni and his support staff provide a level of service that is unparalleled. I had two surgical procedures performed by Dr. Momeni in the past year, an abdominoplasty, and most recently, breast augmentation. For me, besides being a highly skilled surgeon, Dr. Momeni LISTENS to his patient. He will not perform a cosmetic procedure that is unnecessary or harmful to the patient. recently had a breast lift with Dr Momeni - my first major surgery ever. I asked my doctors, friends and other contacts for referrals; he consistently was highly recommended. I wanted my pre-pregnancy breasts back; 2 years of nursing & pumping took a major toll on my body. I scheduled the procedure at Summit Medical Group in Berkeley Heights 2 weeks after my consultation. The facilities were excellent. Dr. Momeni and his staff really made me feel comfortable before, & and after the procedure. They were (& still are) always available when I had questions, and have been extremely responsive and supportive. Most importantly, I LOVE the results. I feel 10 years younger. I see Dr. Momeni on a regular basis for Botox and fillers. He is the best plastic surgeon and I highly recommend his services. He never rushes me and he takes the time to really listen to my questions and concerns. He answers all questions honestly and has never pushed me or pressured me into receiving treatments I wasn't there to receive. I have never had a bad experience with Botox or fillers that he has provided. I look fresh, rested and rejuvenated after my treatments. I have never look like I've "had work done" because his work is natural looking. Dr. Momeni is as good as it gets! I can't say enough good things about him and the services he provides. I saw Dr.Momeni two years ago for FTM gender confirmation and top surgery. I was referred to him by other transgender individuals who had amazing results. His team was professional, knowledgeable, and respectful at every visit pre/post surgery. At first I was hesitant to review as I had a hematoma post-operation. However, after following his directive by taking the time (in years) to heal / exercise I can say I am very satisfied with his keyhole procedure. I will say it is imperative to keep up with an exercise regimen for the desired chest. Otherwise, in my experience with lack of exercise / poor posture the skin sags (revisions would be a next possible option). I had spent some time reading as much as I could find about this method since I was having a difficult time with weight control. The office is part of Summit Medical Group, where the practice is a very high-end suburban practice, and everyone is very serious about taking good care of patients. After going to several consultations in the area, I chose Dr. Momeni since I thought not only he had the expertise to get the job done (but let's face it many surgeons can get it done), but he was honest and I could trust him to be there in case anything went wrong. Just had my post surgery follow up appointment with Dr. Momeni and I can't stress enough what a fabulous doctor he is. Not only is he a master of his trade but he is kind and caring. I went to him the end of 2019 with problematic implants. One was incapsulated and one was broken. I also was having pain in my upper back from the implants. Surgery was in January and my results are amazing. My recovery was easy and my breasts have been transformed and look amazing. I didn't think it was possible. Dr. Momeni and his staff are amazing. The entire process was great, they were educated and helpful and made me feel comfortable the entire time. I got liposuction done and was told I did not need a tummy tuck and based on my results he was spot on. It looks like I had a full tummy tuck but really only had liposuction done. The results are incredible and I had very little pain/discomfort post-surgery. I went back to work 4 days after and every day the results seem to just get better. I would do it again in a heartbeat! read more
