Had deep plane face lift and out come was terrible. Never marked my face before surgery while sitting up. He never draped the sides of my neck only removed fat from center. Now it looks like I have a hole in center of neck due to much fat out and not draping sides up. Need a revision elsewhere. Dr Janjua is not experienced in my opinion in deep plane face lifts. His answer was You look better then before. He wanted to fix his mistake by making a vertical scar down my neck. I had a facelift about 2.5 years ago and both sides of my face are still numb. Dr. Janjua acted like it was no big deal to my face but told my sister in law I would never get my feeling back. He lied to my face he took no responsibility. I'm sure you don't want that in a doctor. He also did 2 of my co workers they both also had complications. Dr. Janjua removed the bags under my eyes (blepharoplasty) and things went sideways. The bags were gone but in their place were dark circles. Raccoon eyes. I saw him a week after the surgery and he appeared to be in complete denial. It's only shadow. It'll fade. Use sunscreen. Wear dark glasses. Who are you going to believe, me or your lying (raccoon) eyes? As I was clearly not going to get a straight answer from him, I consulted a plastic surgeon at Columbia University. She told me that no, it was not going away. It seems that Dr. Janjua should have left a small amount of fat between the skin and the vein to prevent the hollowing effect. I saw Dr. Janjua a few days later and he was less insoucient and more combattive insisting that because the bags were gone I should gratefully accept the collateral damage. Absurd. It's not as if their disappearance was a godsend, a gift from the Eyebag Fairy. It was a service performed by, I thought, someone with expertise. Bought and paid for. This procedure is not particularly difficult to execute and it is hardly uncommon. I had every reason to expect favorable results and no reason whatsoever to expect to be left with raccoon eyes. I would urge anyone who is thinking of availing themselves of Dr. Janjua's services to think twice. Not only did he make what looks like a rookie mistake but he does not handle unexpected turns well. He is defensive and deceptive. Only shadow? Really? I just received some 'before" photos sent from his office. There are no "afters." No wonder. A dermatologist suggested that I see a cosmetic surgeon to remove a facial mole. During my appointment with Dr. Janjua, he explained the process, what to expect and proceeded to numb the area. I felt absolutely no pain during the procedure. I was given instructions on how to care for the area and everyone in the office was kind during my check out. After a week, the area was completely healed and I'm simply amazed by how great it looks! Thanks to Dr. Janjua and his team. read more

There's no denying that Dr Janjua is talented, but from the beginning of my journey things were off. I should have trusted my intuition. The office seemed diorganized, and on two different occasions that I called them I had a new surgery time which I only learned after asking them to confirm my original surgery time. Each time they acted like it was no big deal, but no one had informed me and they seemed to brush it off as if it was no big deal that they kept saying different times (one of the times was about 2 hours earlier then when I was initially scheduled). One of Dr. Janjua's biggest flaws is that he uses terms like "small" "medium" and "large" when it comes to describing changes instead of using numbers. He doesn't tell you how many mm he's planning to remove from each side during alarplasty, which is very key. Even 2mm is a HUGE difference. The day of my in person consultation, everything felt rushed. He seemed to always be in a rush, likely cause he does multiple surgeries a day. Before surgery I told him I was scared of looking pinched. Instead of ensuring me that I wouldn't, he just says "on the day of surgery we will decide how much to take off." BIG mistake. That is not something that should be taken lightly, and he should've told me ways to ensure that I didn't look pinched. He never talked numbers through the procedure, just told me to figure out if I wanted a "small medium or large change" by using Q-Tips to push my nostrils in, which isn't an accurate way to show what you'll actually look like post surgery by any means. While doing research for a revision surgery to fix my nightmare, I found out that a large change shouldn't even be an option during alarplasty. To Dr. Janjua, a large change seems to be 5mm off of each side. (He claims he took 5mm off each side in my post operative report, but after measuring the pieces which they let me keep in a jar with preservative solution, it seems like 7-8 mm). And even if a patient requests a large change, you shouldn't take 5mm off each side knowing you have previous patients that are suffering after that much reduction, as well as other surgeons unanimously agreeing online that 5mm on each side is an over agressive reduction. Almost every doctor I consulted for a revision told me that 5mm was very agressive. As a doctor, you shouldn't go in guns blazing and reduce your patient to nothing. Pushing nostrils in with Q-Tips does nothing to show how ridiculous the nostrils would look with that much reduction. And a better job should be done to inform patients about how important the curvature of the nostril is, and how much curvature they could lose with such a big reduction in which you're removing so much sidewall (which I wasn't aware he would be removing sidewall.) More advice, don't tell a patient "that's not enough" during their consultation in terms of a small change, when it comes to nostril narrowing that you claim is irreversible, especially for a thick skin patient, as the more you remove, the significantly worst the scarring is (which also was not emphasized to me.) Hearing the words "that's not enough" contributed to me thinking I needed a huge change. This is the most damaging thing I've ever been through in my life. It's clear that Dr. Janjua didn't understand my ethnic nose. He gave me a nose that didn't suit my face. He didn't emphasize how big of a difference nostrils make in the face, and also didn't individualize a plan for my nose during our consultation. Instead, he gave me a cookie cutter nose. My nostrils were so small that I couldn't fit my fingers in them. After looking at the numbers on the post operative report, to my surprise he removed more than half of my nostrils. Knowing that people constantly call your office and ask if it can be reversed (I realized once I called), why would you still make such big changes? In the future, I ask that Dr. Janjua throroughly emphasize to patients that this is "irreversible" and advise them about how big of a decision this is. He dishes out alarplastys like they're candy, seems to take them very lightly, encounters unhappy patients, and then still continues to give over agressive reductions. I was fooled by all the good reviewers, but it seems that most patients are way too traumatized or ashamed to write a review after their experience, or get threatened with legal action/get their reviews taken down. For any patient thinking of getting this operation, I advise that you do your research and make sure you're on the same page with your surgeon, as nostrils are one of the most difficult things to bring back in surgery once they're gone. This surgery has left me literally and mentally scarred, and I wouldn't wish this kind of pain on my worst enemy. While it is true that Dr. Janjua is kind and has great bedside manner, there are many things about his approach to alarplasty that he needs to change. read more

I wouldn't go to this doctor for rhinoplasty. I made the mistake of doing so. He suggested a base reduction which he always seems to do even if it's not aesthetically needed. He performed one on me and one nostril is slightly over resected. How he did that on someone who said to be subtle and conservative I don't know. He also doesn't do computer imaging which is needed. I didn't do good enough research so I blame myself. Find a rhinoplasty specialist who also specializes in revisions. I have not had such an amazingly pleasant experience at a doctor's office in quite some time. I recently visited Dr. Janjua's practice and had an absolutely wonderful experience, despite the fact that I had to have minor facial surgery. Dr. Janjua's reception area is kept extremely clean and neat and is decorated in a way that makes you feel as though you aren't about to see a doctor - large leather sofas and chairs, Rothko paintings, orchid plants, etc. I was not only comforted by the appearance of the waiting room, but also by the extremely friendly and cheerful woman at the reception desk! She saw my shirt - sporting a University of Maryland logo - and was thrilled to connect with me on an individual level (her kids are fellow Terps). She was so friendly to me and probably sensed my nervousness, and made sure to make me feel okay. A very friendly nurse took me to the room where I was going to see Dr. Janjua. She asked me a few questions and then asked if I needed anything, a drink of water, or anything like that. Never in my doctor-visiting experience have I ever been offered something to drink. I almost wanted to say, "A gin and tonic, please?" just because of how comfortable I felt in the office! The patients rooms are decorated similarly to the waiting room. Rothko paintings, soothing classical music playing from above, extremely organized doctor's supplies, comfortable chairs, etc. Dr. Janjua came in promptly after the nurse visited with me. I immediately knew, just by his smile, that this was going to go well. Dr. Janjua is an extremely friendly human being who genuinely cares about his patients. I had Rhinophyma for years. Spent a small fortune on prescribed dermatological creams and ointments. Also, bought every OTC treatment I could find on the internet. Literally saved my face. Another surgeon put a hole in my septum during a routine septoplasty and failed to diagnose a nasty Staph infection. Dr. Janjua knew there was an infection right away, did a culture, put me on an intense regimen of antibiotics, nasal irrigation, nasal spray and nasal gel. If he didn't catch this infection, the bridge of my nose could have collapsed! Although the hole did not close (they usually don't) the hole did not get any bigger, the infection went away, and I wouldn't know there was even a hole unless I looked up there! He is kind, caring, reassuring, proactive, easy to get an appointment with, doesn't make you wait, answers all of your questions and is EXTREMELY knowledgeable. I never anticipated needing plastic surgery at this stage of my life. Unfortunately, though, life throws us obstacles, so, after an unfortunate sports-related incident, I needed some scar revision surgery to fix up my face and get me to start looking happy in photos again. My plastic surgery fund reserved for my future, middle-aged wife and her attempts to stay young had to be broken into prematurely. I'm not too big on doctors' offices. Not saying I have white coat hypertension (this is a very real phenomenon... check it out) or anything related, but I'm just not one to get riled up and excited for doctor's appointments, treatments and/or surgeries. Dr. Janjua and his staff, however, made every visit as relaxed and comfortable as possible. I couldn't be more satisfied with the great care I had throughout the process. I believe I saw a certificate on the wall recognizing Dr. Janjua as the most compassionate doctor in NJ, which I can't attest to enough. Dr. Janjua, Lily, Liz - the whole crew is generally interested in their patients and their well-being. During several neurotic episodes related to my face and the cruel outside world, Dr. Janjua always had some sort of sharp antidotal quip or astute revelation that made me realize everything was going to be alright. I don't want to say I'm looking forward to having more work done, but, if it's ever a necessity, I know where to go. I had an alarplasty and tip work done by Dr. Janjua August 2018. To get straight to the point it's a huge disappointment. The first red flag should have been that he told me I could fly immediately after surgery back to city. Every doctor I have talked to since was flabbergasted that he authorized that. On the second day after my surgery a suture opened on the right side and part of my alar was open and bleeding. Dr. Janjua was responsive, but I seemingly unconcerned. The alar then started to break out in bumps all along the line where the sutures had been placed. It took MONTHSSSSSS before my alar fully healed from it being open and from the bumps. I have terrible scarring on both sides of my nose now, the tip has collapsed as told me by other surgeons I have consulted with for a revision (it was always going to collapse as it was not given the proper support to begin with), my nostrils are uneven (to be fair, they were uneven before, but they are much worse now) and I also now have breathing issue that I did not have before. I also have a piece of I assume cartilage that is jutting out from the inside of my nostril that causes slight pain when I touch it. It's just over 9 months later and my nose is still terribly swollen and sometimes hurts. Now it's breaking out in tiny bumps all over.....it seems like this complications from surgery with this doctor will never end. I had breathing and sleep apnea issues due to a very crooked nose. I went to Dr Janjua and I liked him and his caring staff, immediately. He advised that he could straighten my septum without breaking my nose. I knew he was an ENT so signed off and went ahead with procedure. Unfortunately, the result was that he removed all of the cartilage in the bottom half of my nose. Within a year, I had a visible line across the middle of my nose because the bottom half was collapsing. I went for a second opinion (after I voiced my concerns & Dr. Janjua told me to focus on other areas of my face). That ENT was shocked and asked "who did this to you?" because he explained that I had had a radical procedure with only 50% of cartilage remaining. I've watched my nose further collapsing and I experience constant dryness. I regret that I put my trust in Dr. Janjua because he was an ENT & appeared to be kind and concerned. I would have thought better of him had he referred me to a colleague who dealt with the more complicated surgery I must have needed. Dr. Janjua is a talented artist and surgeon. We spoke at length about what I wanted my face to look like after the surgery (this is a huge decision afterall), and he brought up points that I never thought of on my own. He was able to pinpoint aesthetic features that were adding to/taking away from I wanted and didn't want that I was not able to spot on my own. Essentially, he helped me get closer to EXACTLY what I wanted. It's now been almost 9 months since my surgery, and I honestly couldn't be happier. It looks so good, and I feel beautiful. It's my belief that surgery is a blend of art and science. Dr. Janjua has both. You won't find a better surgeon. Ontop of that, he takes the time to really talk to patients. He is one of the sweetest, kindest physicians I've ever come in contact with. I've had procedure done elsewhere, and I can tell you the customer service/people aspect in his office is also of a caliber you won't find elsewhere. This is a surgeon you can trust. read more
