ARTI Home Inspections did an incredible job with inspecting our home, and it was a pleasant experience from start to finish. They were able to do our inspection on a Saturday, which was great since we were coming from far out of town. When I did the inspection on my first home, I was pretty nervous and had a ton of questions. David took away the nervousness by answering all of my questions and offering multiple solutions for the things I was worried about. Couple weeks into our house, and we are discovering things that do not work or barely work for us. This comes as a completely rude surprise after we had a thorough and complete inspection done using ARTI services. Even simple things such as the dryer are completely dysfunctional and turning it on for the first time created a whirring sound so loud as if the roof was coming down. Similar experience with the heating system, it makes crackling and popping sounds, when the heating system kicks in and closes out. Water was bypassed from going through the water softener and the cable was not even plugged in. None of this was ever brought to our attention or mentioned in the report before our purchase so I have no idea what kind of home inspection was done by ARTI and I got him to inspect looking at his track record which is all misrepresented as per me. Having to deal with all these issues right after we purchased a house is traumatic, we feel let down by the ARTI inspection company that failed to identify and report these issues upfront. read more

I decided to go with ARTI/David because the all 5* reviews on Yelp. After looking at his site, I appreciated the fact that he's a one man operation. It's a two person business, because his wife handles the scheduling and administrative duties, but David is the guy who is going to be crawling around the deep dark corners of the house. He's also into investment properties which means that from the perspective of a person who buys and rehabs houses, he's seen his fair share of scary things and his experience from that side of things only gives him more insight that is useful. We've never been home owners so we had no clue about the ins and outs of all the components and systems that make up a house. David was early, professional, approachable, thoroughly thorough and very realistic about things. I have binge watched Holmes on Homes and other renovation reality shows so I was full of fear and angst at the thought of approaching this whole endeavor and David held my hand (figuratively) throughout the whole inspection. He stopped to answer all of my questions, he (seemingly) didn't mind if I asked him to re-visit something that he had already looked at or explained and he was realistic about the condition of the home that was supposed to be "the one". We received our inspection report, with pictures and observations, within hours of the completion of the inspection, which was great! Ultimately, based on the things that he found, we decided not to go with that particular house. Although we thought it was initially an attractive price for a charming home, realistically, it would have ultimately turned into a multi year commitment of repairing and replacing items, large and small, that were nearing the end of their collective lifespans. There were no mystery fees or prices. Our inspection ended up being $700 which included the house, lead test for water, wood destroying insects and radon. When compared with other home inspectors, his fees were a bit higher, however, I approached my decision the same way that Cosmo Castorini of Moonstruck fame, weighed his options of plumbing materials. I had an inspection done and I was very disappointed. I have previously had inspectors that checked almost every aspect of the property and gave me their opinions on how to fix something. The inspection I received from ARTI was filled with only recommendations to consult someone else. If you are a home inspector, you should have a good idea of what to do to repair something. I could have walked around the property and made note of what I thought needed a consultation for also. I expect that when I pay for an inspection, I receive an actual report of the inspection and not a report telling me to ask someone else. Secondly, I feel that the inspector's knowledge of building codes is not sufficient to be an inspector. I knew something was not to code for a specific part of the house and I was expecting something to be stated in the report. I needed the report to reflect the issue so that I could speak with the buyer about the repair. Instead the only note that I received in the report was that the part in question was not working and I should consult an expert. It made no mention of the fact that a related component was not to code. I felt that this was a large waste of money. If you are in the market for buying a home, do not expect an in depth check of the property. This inspector is not a deal breaker for a sale and that is troublesome for a buyer. I want to hear whats actually wrong with the property and not what you think I want to hear. read more

Extremely disappointed with the professionalism of this company. Arti home inspection recently came to do an inspection on a home I am selling. Now I have not seen his report on the property and cannot comment on that. But after they left my wife came home to find insulation all torn apart in my basement which I realize the inspector needs to look behind it but he sloppy shoved some of it back in the cavity of the floor and left most of the mess on my floor. He then knocked a bunch of stuff off one of our shelves and left that mess lay to. Fortunately since it was near the sump pump my wife was smart enough to make sure he didn't knock anything in there to and what a surprise the box of fuses they knocked all over the floor was also in our sump pump. Luckily it wasn't running. Upon exiting the basement the home inspector tracked insulation up stairs and all across our carpets. To top things off I had work late and my wife and 4 year were the first to walk into the mess the inspector left. Both of which have extremely sensitive skin and got bad rashes from the insulation. Judging in this company's lack of professionalism and disrespect for others homes I'd never recommend or allow this company to go into a home on behalf. The condition the inspector left my home was absolutely horrendous! 9/10/16 Well to start the home inspection was not done in boyertown. It was a house in spring city. Secondly the real estate agent gave me all of your companies info before you came and I did research online to see just what the inspection company coming into my home was like. After reading reviews I have to say I was excited to have your company doing the inspection. But sadly as I've said before the condition your company left my home was completely horrendous. If you use booties and drop clothes you must have forgot them because nothing was cleaned up, insulation was tracked throughout my basement and first floor, and things were knocked off shelves in my basement scattered across my floor and stuck in my sump pump. So yes my review is completely accurate including the company it was written about. Lastly if your going to reply to a bad review saying how highly you hold the feedback on your company I'd greatly suggest responding a little quicker than 5 months later. read more

I am a first time home buyer so I have no prior knowledge of home inspectors. ARTI Home Inspections seemed to be a class act company. I called received a quote, and was told the opening times they had, after shopping around they were the best rate. I called back booked the day and met them out at the house. The inspection was thorough, he had vast amounts of knowledge of mostly every part of the house. He spent around 3 solid hours on a 1,200 square foot property, he got onto the roof, into the attic and inspected every room. He spent the most time in the basement obviously because houses are built from the ground up. I was very impressed with how thorough he was. He also gave me tips on what to do when I live in the property to keep it well maintained. I received the report in a timely manner with a lot of details and pictures. I did call someone else to give estimates. (they gave me numbers, but sellers want real estimates) Everything he told me was right on the money as the contractors said as well. He also gave me a book and dvd to help with closing and maintaing the property. Overall I am happy with what I paid for. read more
