I have to admit that sometimes when cofeee is not great I often put a lot of sugar in it, but there was no need for sugar in my artifact coffee latte. It was perfect just the way it was! The vibe in the place was wonderful and creates such a nice environment to meet up with friends, do work, or sit and have a good time! Everything about the experience was great! read more

Great cafe to come in and enjoy some coffee and even some light foods/pastries. I thoroughly enjoyed the decor and ambiance of the cafe. I do enjoy a good coffee and the coffee here was absolutely delightful. Though there is something that irked me about this place right at the end of my visit. Some preface - I am not from the Baltimore area, in fact, I am visiting from out of town - California, and my close friend was dropping his family to the Baltimore Zoo - they are also not from here and prefer DC - but they did oblige to meet me in Baltimore since that's where I was staying. We generally don't get to see each other but maybe 1 or 2 times a year so its always important we take advantage of any time we can. In any case - we spent several hours, and several lattes, espressos, cappuccinos, iced coffees, cookies etc at this cafe. We sat in the back at a round table. It was around 3PM when my friend got the call to pick his family up at the Zoo, so we finished our coffee and parted ways, since I had some time - I decided to stay behind and order one last coffee and a cookie and glance over some work on my computer. Of course, since it was just me I considered moving to the of the bar stools facing the wall, but since the number of guests had gone down and it started to empty out - because they closed at 4 - I figured that 15 mins or less at the table wouldn't be an issue. I understand that they are probably trying to reserve the tables for groups who are dining, and can completely agree with that - but when the young staff worker came and made sure to 1) remind me they were closing at 4 for the second time, and also sternly tell me they don't allow laptops at the table, and bluntly place the sign in front of me - I was immediately turned off by the experience. Hidden Gem (Is this a piece of Woodberry kitchen?) Stone building just off of Falls road. Always busy because the coffee is good (great if you want it), the food is good. Has unique items like sweet potatoes and apple muffins. Heck, they will even put whiskey in your coffee if you want it. Individual poured coffee for five dollars a cup. Standard stuff for 2.75. Today I was here for a get together with Ladies Get Paid Baltimore. We had a reserved section in the back room. The Baristas were attentive and super sweet. I don't know what I love most. The atmosphere is calming which is really difficult for coffee shops to do. The decor and building itself are amazing. I mean, talk about stunning old Baltimore. I cannot get enough of the stone interior and exterior. If I had to pick one thing, it would be the option to add CBD to any drink. Listen, at 8am, I need to take the edge off as I've already been up for possibly 4 hours. I'm not a big alcohol person so this little shot is my faaaaaave. Love love love it! Kudos y'all. I indulged in a Oat Milk Chai Latte with CBD. I will definitely be back. This is a nice drive from where I am usually around. I've been living in Baltimore for a while now so I was super surprised when a friend suggested we pop by this place that I had never even hear of. But thank god she did!!!! Artifact coffee is literally one of the cutest places ever, we an awesome outdoor seating area, a beautiful cafe counter, super friendly employees, and AMAZING food. My partner and I both ordered banh mi's, one veggie and one breakfast version. They came out super quick despite being very busy, and they were just to die for. The bread was crunchy and moist, the pickled veggies were awesome, the mushroom pate was delicious... just a straight knockout. And I don't usually like tofu or mushroom!! I like the rustic, plant-y vibe inside Artifact -- very charming. There's also outdoor seating if indoors gets too full. I ordered the masala chai and the decaf pour over along with the coffee shop chicken salad sandwich; I thought it was cool that they give you one of those simple brew teapots, although the masala chai was really weak. Also, I don't know why I try to convince myself that I like pour overs (I really don't). However, I enjoyed the coffee shop chicken salad sandwich, especially with the apples. Artifact seems more of a cafe than a coffee shop to me, and the items were pricey (all three totaling ~$21 before tip), but the food running staff were kind and welcoming (I think the cashiers were a bit busy). I don't think I would be able to get work done here, but it was nice to visit on my own on a Sunday morning. read more

My husband and I came here on a Saturday morning for a little breakfast date and this place is such a vibe. It's very relaxing. Tables had a little flower arrangement, it was just so peaceful and a great way to start the day. I ordered the spiced Vietnamese iced coffee which was a bit sweet but it was expected. The real star of the show is the perfectly perfect crushed ice. I also ordered the Fallin for you breakfast sandwich which was amazing!! It had sweet potato hash, braised kale, egg, cheese and spicy Mayo on an incredible baguette. It was so good!! Staff was very friendly and attentive. What a fantastic find, this is more then just a hipster, cute, quaint coffee shop. This place is happening. We loved Artifact Coffee and the best thing about it is we loved things we really don't love. But I'll get to that in shortly. Artifact is in an old mill that they have converted and it's awesome, old brick walls, lights hanging everywhere, it's kinda like you stepped into the past, but has a special aura to it, with great decor and a welcome to something awesome, again this isn't just a coffee shop. Great coffee with lots of coffee options, latte, cappuccino's, espresso bar you name it, they have it. Plenty of teas and some surprise spirited drinks, with quality Kombucha to partake in as well. They have a nice food menu, which we ventured to try and that was the biggest surprise, butternut squash soup was the choice with an amazing and simple grilled cheese, both were well worth it and for sure would try again. Now to that thing my wife and I don't love that we loved, is what our boys got, good ole oatmeal. I know right, oatmeal good? Will at Artifact it was incredible, granola, syrups and whatever else they did. Next time we go we both agreed we are going to get it. They have a great menu and we enjoyed all the food and drinks we had. It's a little on the pricey size, but none the less would go back again. It's a great find you'll love your visit. read more

I ate here on a Sunday morning with my girlfriend. I ordered the Ham Jam sandwich on a biscuit and could not have been more disappointed. The biscuits fall apart like they're made of sand. I can't believe I paid $13 for a sandwich that doesn't taste good! I will never return. Giving two stars instead of one because the coffee was yummy, and the customer service was great. I was excited to try Artifact and wanted to love it. It's cute with kind staff, but I would not go out of my way for it. My iced caramel latte with almond milk was fine. Not heavy on the espresso or the caramel notes, I found it lackluster. The food was better than the coffee. I got the English muffin with cheese and tomato and while it's a bit small, it was more filling than I had expected. The English muffin is particularly good. Artifact is in a very quaint, old stone mill building. It has lots of charm which is complimented well with the string lights and dried florals. I came here with a friend to spend the morning working remotely. We had no problems with the wifi. The beverage list is expansive and I tried the Japanese coffee, which I learned is brewed in a special way. Everyone working was very helpful and the barista was especially friendly and took time to explain certain items. Later in the day I tried the biscuits and gravy. Someone sitting next to me had ordered it earlier and it smelled divine. I don't normally like biscuits and gravy but wanted to give it a try, and I'm so glad I did! The dish was delicious and so flavorful. They even have a special hot sauce! I absolutely love the vibe and flavor that artifact coffee brings. I have been on the hunt for a casual but cute cafe that I can do work at, but also invite a friend over for brunch in the hampdens area. This is the place to do just that. They have a variety of pastry/baked good options as well as fresh salads, and warm sandwiches if you are craving something heavier. I will say that my favorite drink so far from them was a kind of mint coffee that I just tried out of curiosity but now wonder about it every time I come visit. Please bring it back soon! read more

Great coffee shop with both indoor and outdoor seating. Inside has a great lively vibe but can be a bit too loud for those looking for a calmer study spot. The drinks are decent, nothing spectacular, but are all reasonably priced when compared to other local coffee shops. The cold brew was solid and the moroccan spiced coffee had an interesting flavor but was a tad too sweet. I also tried one of their breakfast sandwiches which was pretty great! Bought a bottle of their hot sauce and it had literally expired nearly a year ago. That makes me worry about the food quality as well as their overall attention to detail. I definitely won't return and I rarely leave negative reviews but this has been a pattern at this coffee shop (food quality has dropped in recent months and prep errors are common). I am not sure if ownership changed or something but they definitely aren't on their game the way that they were just a year or two ago. I used to really like this place but it has some serious problems now. I'm vegetarian so I ordered the Poncho and Lefty sandwich which on the menu does not include bacon. When I got my sandwich, it had bacon on it so I took it back. When I told them I got the wrong sandwich, they told me I was wrong, that sandwich comes with bacon. I pointed out the menu does not have that listed as an ingredient and they responded well the menu is wrong! They then gave me some attitude about having to make a new sandwich as if I should have known the menu was wrong. When I got my sandwich it was then also missing the other ingredients it was supposed to have and was just an egg sandwich. I wasn't going to bring it back again and risk having my sandwich spat on. I'm now upset I ended up spending extra for a plain egg sandwich. If you want better service and a better sandwich, go check out Vent instead. read more

My new little spot! lol this cafe reminds me of home (San Francisco Bay Area). The ambiance is rustic, farm to table type of vibe with a cool seasonal menu. I was greeted by the baristas immediately upon entering and was rang up swiftly. I ordered the Moroccan Iced Coffee (that was so good I got a 2nd one!) and Ham Jam breakfast sandwich pictured below. I had a hard time finding this place initially because Maps took me to the other side of the building, but keep an eye out for the parking lot and white tent coverings and you'll have no problem! I loved the cozy vibe, from the relaxing music playing to the cute holiday antique holiday decor. The menu is way bigger than I expected from a relatively small cafe, and so far everything I've tried really hits.
