Fantastic little place. Friends of mine and I go climbing at Movement Hampden which is right next door. One of my buddies gets a coffee from here every time we go climbing. Vent is one of the few places I trust to pour a mean specialty latte. Every time I visit, I am checking the menu for the current specials and deciding from those. During my most recent visit, it was the Bangkok that caught my eye. This drink, which was vegan as is, featured Vegan Condensed Milk, Espresso, Oat Milk and Nutmeg. It was a very light, not overly sweet drink. Score another one for Vent. The ambiance of Vent is pretty interesting as one side of its warehouse inside is a cafe with bar, table and bench seating and the other is the roastery. I love to order my drink and then watch the roasters do their magic. Vent has a lot of merch, bags of coffee, canned cold brews, etc for sale in their small shop. Previously I've purchased some of their bags and canned cold brews. Both were exceptional. I'm not in Vent's area often but when I am, I make it a point to stop for a visit. read more

I found myself in the area and wanting a matcha or chai. A quick online search brought up Vent Coffee Roasters, so I made my way over. When I walked in, the space was very welcoming and the staff was so nice and accommodating. I couldn't choose between matcha or chai because I love both, but the person at the register explained how they prepare each and didn't make me feel rushed. I went with the matcha and was not disappointed. It was yummy. Not too earthy, but also not overly sweet. They also gave me the option to add more sweetener if I wanted. I really like Vent! It's one of the few coffee shops around here that's open past 3pm which is great for when I'm running errands and need a mid-afternoon pick-me-up. In fact, during the week they close at 6pm which is pretty generous hours for the area. Every time I come in, there's plenty of people remote working from one of the many cafe tables or at the bar. The ambiance is quiet and relaxing, unlike other coffee shops where music or conversations might be loud. The prices are typical for their speciality lattes, around $7 on average. I recently ordered their seasonal caramel latte and it was delicious. Perfectly sweet with a beautiful foam heart on the top! I wish I took a pic. I will definitely be back and need to add Vent into my regular rotation of WFH spots. read more

Met a friend here based on their recommendation, and we will now be ravenous repeat customers. Loved being able to listen to and watch the roasting while we snacked and chatted! The atmosphere is industrial but warm - a modern combination that I really enjoyed. Service was super informative and friendly, and the coffee exceeded our expectations in anticipated flavor notes. In August 2024, my girlfriend & I went to a coffee festival at this Union Collective, which has Vent Coffee, Union Craft Brewery, & a couple of other businesses. I've been to Vent Coffee Roasters a few times and have always thoroughly enjoyed my experience. The staff is always friendly, and the drinks are always good. I'm a matcha girl and their matcha is tasty. Recently I visited Vent for a coffee roasters event presented by Sophomore Coffee and hosted by the Enoch Pratt library. This was a great opportunity to learn how some of the best coffee suppliers in Baltimore prepare and roast their coffee as well as an opportunity to really take in and appreciate the space that Vent offers. I love that Vent provides a space for other businesses to aid in a portion of their coffee production. I also attended the latte art competition during Coffee Fest at Vent. And let me tell you it was a pretty neat and intense competition between some of the best baristas. I whole heartly appreciate the artistry of latte art, because it does not look easy. Vent Coffee Roasters is a great coffee shop to stop in while at Union Collective, to just hang out and vibe or zone out and get some work done. And if they have their lemon sugar cookies in rotation, they are a must to have with your coffee. read more

Why haven't I ever paid attention to Vent Coffee Roasters? I've been missing out. I ordered a Cold Brew with cardamom syrup. It wasn't too sweet and the cardamom was subtle. To munch on, I ordered the egg and cheese sandwich on ciabatta. It comes with arugula and some sort of spicy sauce. Loved it! The staff member was super helpful. There's a few shared work tables and also a coffee bar to sit at and get some things done. I love the industrial back room feel of this spot as well. read more

I'm so glad I stumbled upon this location! I was looking for somewhere to get some work done on a Monday afternoon when good neighbor (just down the street) was jam packed. Vent Coffee had a solid crowd as well but I as able to join someone at a shared picnic-type table. We each had plenty of space to get comfortable and get work done. I opted for a small, seasonal donut and did not purchase any beverage so I regrettably can't attest to the coffee itself. Nonetheless, it is quite cool and impressive that they roast coffee beans directly in the shop. Very soothing. Also, the name is intentional as the atmosphere and vibe welcomes you as you are. First, and probably only, visit. My iced coffee had sweetener in it that I didn't ask for (we ordered two, one with and one without, but they were both sweetened) and the barista over-filled both cups so there was coffee all of the tops and more came out when trying to put the straw in -- was a mess. And those things, while frustrating, could have been ignored had the coffee been amazing, but it wasn't -- it was not bad, but also not great. read more

Vent has been my favorite coffee roaster in Baltimore for over a year now. They offer a unique selection of beans that's frequently changing. I don't often stop by their storefront and get beans at other places that carry Vent, but I love stopping by. It's one of the first coffee shops that stayed opened later so I would come work here and they carry empanadas sometimes. The staff is friendly - they DO NOT give you a free cup of coffee if you buy beans like other vendors do but I love their coffee so it doesn't bother me. They do have a rewards punch card now. It's a small space with a light wooden decor. The parking in Union Collective can be challenging. read more

A coffee blog sent me to Vent Coffee Roasters while on a trip to Baltimore and I'm glad they did. Here's my experience going on Monday morning in December 2021: 1) Coffee: They roast their beans onsite. As you order your coffee, you can watch them roasting! They have a full coffee menu, including a section for specialty drinks. I ordered their "Bangkok" with house made vegan condensed milk, espresso, oat milk and nutmeg. It was tasty and not too sweet. They also sell a few small pastries, My toddler was a fan of the small vegan chocolate doughnut. 2) Space: It's a large space with benches inside and a few small tables in a room off to the side. During the pandemic, they ask you stay out of the main room once you have your coffee. 3) Location: It's inside Union Collective, an old Sears warehouse converted into a space for local businesses. There's a large parking lot out front and nearby are many other businesses from bars to a brewery, etc. 4) Service: It was efficient, but not friendly at all. The person at the register was fine, but the barista wasn't friendly at all. She seemed very annoyed I had a four-year-old with me and promptly told us to go to the side room once we got our coffee. Everyone is entitled to a bad day, so hopefully it's better when we return. read more

The location in the Union Collective is convenient, with lots of parking. However, because of COVID, there wasn't much indoor seating within the store besides a few benches for waiting. Since it was a warm day, though, we found a table outside. I shared the bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich with a friend. Overall it was a pretty decent sandwich. Such a cool vibe and located at Union. Parking couldn't be easier. I feel like the baristas know what they're doing and every cup of coffee feels specially brewed and is really rich. I go here all the time with my coworkers when we need to get out of the office. Great place to catch up with friends, chat, work from home. It's a little small inside, but the vibes are great. It's industrial and every time I've been there there's always coffee being freshly ground, brewed, and you can see them all doing it with big machines over on the side. there's not a ton of places to sit inside. And my favorite thing about it is that they have oat milk with the half-and-half and you don't have to pay extra. Coffee is so good. It's so nice inside. I went to vent first pre pandemic for an event and it was such a great space for the event I went to. Their growth over the pandemic lessened some of that space but what didn't change was how much I enjoy their coffee! They have great staples but also really good fun drinks. I also like that they do growlers, one growler is three cups of iced coffee for me so it works out perfectly when Im working from home and still want fancy coffee without running out everyday. read more

Unexpected location but great coffee. This shop is in an updated warehouse space off of 83. There's plenty of seating and delicious coffee. We had lattes and enjoyed the maple latte special they were offering. The open and bright and spacious room was a nice background to the coffee and pastries. read more

Delicious coffee! Came here to check the place out on a Sunday. While there was some seating, there weren't any tables available so we snagged a bench in the hallway to sit on for a few minutes. I ordered the maple latte, and the balance of flavors was perfect- interesting but not too sweet. My husband ordered a pour over and cold brew, and both were smooth and spot on. The only disappointment was the apple cider donut, which actually had some raw dough in the middle- it wasn't fully cooked. But I overheard another table talking about how their food and pastries were delicious, so it was likely just a one-off. I enjoyed Vent Coffee! We stopped in for a place to get a hot tea and access to wifi. The few tables they have offer some seating, but not a ton. We were able to grab seats at a larger communal table, with access to an outlet. The staff was friendly and let us know to come back up for more hot water when ever we needed it. The cups are small so we took several trips back up to the counter. We didn't try any of the snacks, but the menu was tempting. Vent Coffee Roasters is one of my favorite coffee places in Baltimore. Right up there with OneDo and Ceremony Coffee!! I had been wanting to try this place for a while and never got the chance. Oh FYI, they're no longer at Argosy Cafe anymore. They have their own location now. Driving here wasn't too bad. It's near hampden but the final bit of directions can be a bit tricky. Like you're on a bridge and gps will tell you "your destination is on the left". So you'll have to actually take the turn after the bridge and drive down to the location. Now on to the coffee! I ordered a latte and it was delicious! Espresso was flavor and the milk was heated just right. They also have coffee beans for sale and other little sweets for you to munch on. They don't many seating options so if you're here on a busy day, getting it to go might be best. If you love coffee, definitely give Vents Coffee Roaster a chance! read more

We waited forever for coffee; the drip drop method, while neat to look at, is super inefficient. They need to find a way to make and store ahead.
