We purchased an Industrial Barn Door for our bathroom. Originally our door opened up into the bathroom and hit the toilet. Instead of putting in a pocket door that could be costly and messy we decided to go with the barn door. It adds character to our house and I absolutely LOVE it! Well, this is not a joke: I placed my first order last year in december, 2016....yes last year. The following happened. After the order was shipped (2 crates for 2 barn doors) UPS apparently lost the order which seems not very uncommon. Now, it would help of course if the shipping department would actually place several labels on it instead of writing on side with a marker the name and skew number. It doesn't take much and the number gets scrapped off...then what? The UPS hub where all the shipments get delivered first is as big as 3 football fields. 160 loading docks/doors...yes, 160...so if you ever have worked for FedeX or UPS you know how quick items get lost. 2nd order gets shipped after I had to complain...this time UPS messes up and delivers wrong item. After we finally receive both doors (3rd attempt) and hang the doors...OMG...the door handles don't line up, one is so crooked I don't even understand to this day how it made past quality control or to the paint department? Unbelievable! Again, I had to complain and was assured the doors will be replaced...which they did, but with shipping it took almost again 2 months and guess what? I only received 1 out of 2 crates and again no shipping labels on the freight. Quality: The doors look very nice but after 8months of this BS I'm sick and tired of it...this is not a "fake news" story but real life. I shopped around for barn door hardware and settled on Artisan Hardware due to their variety and quality. I'm really glad I did. I placed my second order for barn door hardware and paid for 2 day shipping. They expedited the production and shipped the order on time. However, the box never made it to the UPS hub on time. Predrilled track holes spaced 20" apart. Sent wrong instructions with order, had to download correct ones online. Poor design. Rollers do not work with the supplied track stops, runs into the edge of the roller. "Hidden" track case attaches in a very flimsy and difficult manner and does not fully conceal the track stops. Very disappointed, especially at the price point. Ordered with soft close hardware which will not work with the rollers provided, they run into the hardware. read more

I ordered my door from Artisan because they seemed to have better reviews than the competition who also was based in UT. First the good news... they got the door out quite quickly, faster than I expected. Unfortunately, I was unprepared for the delivery (a large truck cannot make it up our drive, so I have to arrange to meet the freight delivery with my own smaller truck) so that took a few extra days. It would have been nice to get some advance notice, but this was probably more UPS' fault. Now the not so good part. We ordered a door with frosted glass, and the one that arrived was clear. It's going in a bedroom, so this is obviously a problem, but we have guests coming next week and couldn't wait for another door to arrive. I looked again at my order form confirmation to make sure I didn't make the mistake, but it's right there in their own record that it was supposed to be frosted. Second, the stain had not even dried, we got wet stain all over our clothes and hands getting it out of the crate. Third, the instructions are woefully inadequate, but there is more information in a series of videos Artisan has on YouTube. They're worth watching if you're installing this yourself. Last, we did not get any of the necessary screws to mount the door. They were supposed to be included with the door. Clearly, the quality control here is lacking. Virtually no instructions, wrong glass, no mounting hardware. I'm glad we ordered the track hardware 'pre-hung' because I'm afraid we might have been missing even more components otherwise. On the upside, the install (once I made a trip to town and got my own hardware) was a breeze and the door does look very nice. It's just frustrating to have so many things go wrong on something this expensive. read more

I am not the type of person to leave a review but I wanted to because of how amazing my experience with Artisan Hardware was. It is by far the greatest company I've ever ordered from! I ordered the Vintage Strap hardware in the color bronze. I ordered it on a Monday and it was at my door by Thursday. The quality was very good, very heavy duty. I live in Los Angeles and had the hardest time finding barn doors that were the right size. Artisan was able to do custom sizing and have an amazing selection of styles and finishes. I just finished my second project using barn door hardware from Artisan. It was a 3-door bypass system. I wouldn't depend on anyone else for my hardware orders. You can call them and explain your project to them and they will walk through it with you to insure that you have all of the right pieces for your project. Absolutely horrible experience and terrible customer service. On my 1st call to Artisan I gave all my details to the customer service person and she said she would be right back to me...crickets...didn't hear a word back. Called again(as it turned out what a mistake on my part) & ordered a barn door bi-pass system from Artisan. The 1st shipment came in with multiple missing parts. Called Artisan and they shipped additional parts. As we were assembling we discovered more missing parts: stops, spacers, bolts, etc...etc...Called Artisan again & was asked what else was missing from their missed shipment and that I needed to be more careful and diligent in checking their shipping errors...what a joke. I fabricated the missing parts myself and made it work. Wouldn't ever use them again. read more
