I came by Maple Mountain for their grand opening. I am interested in renting a cabin and was searching for fire places and wood burning stove options. Maple Mountain has great customer service. They had wood-fired pizzas for customers. And they were good. The owner, Matt, showed me around his store front and warehouse. They have about fifty fireplaces and stoves. Matt has worked in fire place installation with his Dad since he was 15. I trust that he will do a professional installation in addition to selling affordable products. Another thing I liked was the smell of the place. They were burning cherry wood. I imagine a cabin in the mnts, snowboarding, coming home to a cherry wood burning stove would be pretty sweet! I usually post positive reviews and rarely negative reviews. Main problem: Horrific customer service, major headache to deal with. I do not recommend Maple Mountain Fireplaces. If you want a business that cares for its customer, then this is not the one to use. While all nice people, they were just not concerned about the client. Doug, the sales manager, was overly confident and said things could be done that couldn't. The project was supposed to be a 9-5 job and completed in a day. It took 3 days, and this wasn't entirely because of complications. At least two of the days were due to their own fault. The pre-inspection was shoddy and they blamed it on their phone person, Tori, for not "checking a box". They were completely unprepared at the day of installation. The core cement drill wasn't scheduled at the time of the installation due to their oversight. The process was very stressful, they never had me draw a diagram and at 9:50 AM, 10 minutes prior to show up, Doug was on the phone with me asking for dimensions of the fireplace and asking how I wanted the venting and what sizes, how high, etc. This was crazy 10 minutes prior to installation! I wasn't even home to take measurements, but having this conversation while I was driving home from work. I was originally told I didn't even need to be there when they arrived. Thankfully, I was there to explain (a 2nd time, after the pre-inspection) what I was hoping to have done. The guys who installed the fireplace, Devan and Mike, were great. They worked very hard and were very understanding for the mistakes their bosses made. Bottom line, I would have had no issues if they could actually make this hellish experience right. After the major headache, they took off a $100 travel fee (because I'm in Salt Lake County) and then gave me another $100 bucks due to having to put my dog in daycare for 3 full days. This was not even close to the amount of stress and BS they put me through for an expensive gas fireplace. I just asked that the business be fair and perhaps help with some of the finishing repairs, for example. I spoke with Matt, the owner, about issues he should be aware of. (At least, I would want to know them if I was the owner.) He stated he would call me back the next day in the afternoon, of course with their far-from-exemplary-customer-service, he never called back. I recommend any other fireplace company and I'm regretting not using Uintah Fireplace and Design. RE: MAPLE MOUNTAIN'S FALSE/INACCURATE Reply: The call from Doug was completely last minute and he was totally unprepared for the job. You make it sound like the location was a last minute change. This location change was sent in an email on 1/23/20. The installation date was 2/11. 20 DAYS prior to the installation. That was more than enough time to confirm measurements rather than 10 minutes prior to showing up for the install. Yes, it took 3 days. You started on Tuesday, 2/11. Wednesday was the core drill. The framing and construction was finished Thursday. My house was a construction zone Tuesday-Thursday which equals 3 days. Far difference from a one day, 8 hour job I was told. Finally, I never threatened a bad review. In fact, I wanted to refer you to my brother who wants to install a fireplace and I stated that I didn't want to refer you unless you were more fair due to your mistakes. Re finishing work: Once you said you were wrong about the pre-inspection and the ceiling would need to be cut up, I asked for the finish work to be taken care of due to Doug misleading me during the pre-inspection. Here's the series of incompetency: During pre-inspection, no need to cut ceiling. 70% of framing done and then the ceiling needs to be cut up, contrary to pre-inspection. I ask for help with finishing if the ceiling is cut due to your error. No help offered, whatsoever. Thankfully, caring employees, Mike and Devan, stated they would find a way to avoid cutting the ceiling, and they did. You're lucky to have those two. read more

I purchased a free standing gas fireplace from Maple Mountain in 2020. They were happy to take my money, seemed really great to work with, and did a great job installing my unit. However, I have had questions about the very confusing remote, have asked for help with it, and they have done nothing. Their after install service is non-existent in this area. For anyone doing business with this company, make sure that you understand everything about your unit when they install, because they will not help you AT ALL afterwards. read more

After getting quotes from two fireplace shops in Orem, I decided to give these guys a call. Their quote came in $2k less than the other places and maple mountain has superior products that aren't imported from China. The sales guy who came out for the quote was on time and very friendly. He gave a rough estimate that was very close to the actual quote. I told him our budget and he showed me the best options and didn't try to pressure me into spending more money. We had a fireplace installed on Friday and the guys were super professional. The fireplace works great and I'm satisfied with my purchase and experience. I would definitely recommend them. read more

We were so disappointed with our experience. Matt, the owner, stopped by and was so friendly and helpful. I had a different fireplace contractor recommended to me but decided to go with Matt because of his customer service. What a disappointment! The day of our install they were very late (2 hours) and didn't bother to call. We were the first appointment of the day so I finally called and the lady gave me a load of "we are so busy" but the reality was they overbooked themselves. I was very frustrated that my time was not valuable to them and they didn't give me a call. Matt and another guy show up and Matt walks in my house and immediately asks me to keep my kids out of his way because he is busy and has a lot of work that day so he needs to be able to work. What!!!!???? I have redone two houses from top to bottom and have hired many contractors. I have never had someone walk in and be so rude. I am the customer and I am the one paying the bill. (In fact, two days later a sheetrock contractor walked in and remembered my childrens names and asked them how they were doing and was so pleasant to work with. What a difference.) Because they were so late, my youngest had to go down for a nap in the middle of the installation. They start drilling away and I asked about the noise (because I would have had them come back rather than wake my baby 30 minutes into a nap). Next thing I know, his "helper" was in my house making smart elec remarks about how loud he is and laughing up a storm with Matt. Way to treat the customer. Later that evening Matt brough back the screen that was missing in the kit and my husband was home. Matt turned on the sales guy again and was so friendly to my husband. What a joke! Bottom line... I could not wait to get them out of my house. I would recommend them to no one. In fact, my neighbor used them two weeks before I did and when I asked about their experience, my neighbors weren't impressed either and said one of the workers was very rude. And they have no small children. I was so mad after my experience that I waited two months to leave a review so I wouldn't be in the "heat of the moment". Hire someone else!!!! read more

I purchased a fireplace 11-2017 still not hooked up! When I purchased it they stated it comes with a remote. After they installed it they stated I needed to bring in electrician to hook it. They did not tell me I would need to do that. They promised me that was an error on there part for not telling me. They would come out and get it hooked up as of 11-1-2018 it was not done. Maple Mountain Fireplaces stated they could not find my house and they called but I had no missed calls. This now has been year! Maple Mountain now stated to far to go but yet they accepted the job. They were very friendly and helped me understand what would be best for my needs. They were very knowledgeable and helpful. They had the answer to every question I had.
