They should make a Netflix series about this place. Butcher shop. I have had no issues with my teeth in over a decade. I went to this dentist for a routine cleaning and he said two fillings needed to be "replaced". I was skeptical but foolishly I did a quick Google search and agreed to let him replace the fillings. I had pain in both the teeth he replaced fillings in. Now I am in immense pain and I need a root canal. He also pulled two of my nephews teeth after a fall and I'm very much questioning if that needed to be done at all. Please consider another dentist for your own safety. Update: had the root canal done at my previous dentist. He confirmed that even if the filling did need to be replaced (unlikely), there's no way it grew to the size from X-ray 1 year prior that would have required him to drill so far down close to the nerve. He replaced two fillings and now I need two root canals. read more

I went in for their special on Zoom Whitening. The pros: The receptionist was friendly and the place was clean. The dentist seemed to be very nice, although I didn't see him for a treatment outside of the zoom whitening. The cons: They were running behind. The worst thing overall was the lack or precision used to perform the whitening. My top teeth look ok but my bottom teeth only half of the tooth was whitened on all teeth. I went to my regular dentist after the whitening and purchased additional whitening trays to try and remedy the shoddy job performed at Artistic Dentistry. As far as the Dentist goes, he seems ok enough, but he checked my teeth post whitening and I feel a little betrayed that he didn't see the problem with the whitening procedure performed. read more

Beware. I was told I had dry socket from a pulled tooth. I was sent home very ill and in unbearable pain. I was immediately treated elsewhere and was diagnosed with a severe sinus infection due to a hole in my sinus from having my tooth pulled. The hospital stated that the hole was borderline from needing emergency surgery to repair. I received treatment for weeks. Nicole his office manager has sent me to collections knowing I am still, a year later suffering from chronic sinusitis due to this incident. I also has numerous medical bills because of this. He never once called to follow up, no apology. Nothing. read more

Very nice receptionists and dental hygienists. I went in for a Zoom whitening, so I can't comment on the actual dentist himself. It is a decently nice office in a nondescript strip mall. They clearly schedule these appointments VERY tight to get as many people through efficiently as possible. I was initially stressed FOR the staff, because it seemed like they had a lot going on at once, but honestly they managed to keep it under control and checked in on everyone often. I think it is just the approach this office takes-- schedule appointments tight and then work hard all day. It seems they lean hard into the Zoom Groupon promotion, because several others were having it done while I was there. The hygienists were so incredibly kind to me and were very efficient. I came in here months ago for a cleaning and was told I would need hundreds of dollars of fillings. I recently went to Downtown Dental in Chicago for my cleaning and they said not only do you not have any cavities you don't have any thing that looks like it's turning into a cavity on the X-ray. I'm so glad I didn't pay the $800 plus that I was quoted for fillings from this place. How unethical. Don't come here. read more

I wish I had gotten a second opinion! They charged me over $1,000 in dental work and like an idiot I let them do it. I never had issues with my teeth prior or after. It's been a couple years and I'm still very upset about it. The work they did with sealant had fallen out within 6-12 months of getting work done. I had the Zoom whitening. Let me tell you this: It hurts! Not during the procedure. There is some sensitivity during the procedure, but it isn't bad. Once I left the office and got in the car, however, my teeth felt like lighting was hitting it (google "Zoom Whitening Zingers). This CONSTANT shooting pain in my mouth lasted about 10 hours, and didn't completely go away until I woke up the next day. It is probably the worst pain I've ever had. I've broken bones, had teeth pulled without novacaine, and I have tattoos on my arms and legs. The pain I felt after this procedure hurt way more than any of those experiences. I would rather get a tattoo on my eyes than experience the pain I felt again. The office did not brief me in person that this pain will be that bad. I was told on paper that "some sensitivity may occur" and that's it. The procedure took about an hour from start to finish. BUT This is a review of Artistic Dentistry, not a review of the Zoom Whitening Procedure offered by them. I felt I should include that bit about my experience with Zoom, because this is one of the most popular services offered by Artistic Dentistry. The office is very clean, and the hygienists are friendly. I am very happy with the results of my Zoom whitening. I got 14 shades lighter. If you want white teeth and can endure pain, I'd recommend Zoom from Artistic Dentistry. If you already have white teeth, or you don't like pain, don't get Zoom whitening. This procedure varies from person to person in terms of pain and sensitivity, but all the people that I've met who have got Zoom report the same pain. Women have said it feels worse than childbirth, so take that into consideration. Am I glad I got Zoom? Yes. Would I have gone through with it if I would have known how bad it would hurt afterwards? Absolutely not. I gave Artistic Dentistry 4 stars because they were very professional and provided me with the service I asked them to provide. read more

Dr. Akroush is an incompetent dentist and very rude to his patients. This establishment is worthy of 0 stars. I had nothing but terrible experiences here, but the most upsetting is the breaking of my vital natural tooth. They are still billing me for this and will not refund me for the amount I already paid. The initial scan for my crown was not done correctly, so I had to go back. Then they broke my crown putting it in and then he broke my real tooth when attempting to take out the broken crown. I do not have a root canal so everything caused additional pain. I was very patient, but when attempting to fix the real tooth he broke, he made it look worse. I have not gotten an apology from the doctor himself and when I email the office, the office manager just says this is the first she's hearing of it every single time. She said someone would call me back and they did not. They do not answer my calls. I would not recommend getting any major work done here. They also tried to sell me on an overpriced $1500 night guard without explaining anything about it and not being able to answer my questions. They are full of excuses and a terribly run business. With everything and everyone being so pristine and professional, I was quickly at ease and impressed. The Dr. was spot on with every other consultation that we had (we had 4)and explained everything in complete detail. He told us why his product was beyond the others. The price was comparable to the others and his staff were unbelievably knowledgeable and friendly. They understood the financial commitment and worked with us until we were able to make it happen.
