Once i felt comfortable with the top 2 choices we discussed installing a mat or going without. At no point did I feel pressured to choose one way or the other during the process. When the final choices had been made, Greg worked up a price estimate . It was pure sticker shock ( the good variety )! The price was about 60% less than competitors with a larger storefront. Great value for the service and quality of workmanship. The final product provides me a great sense of relief and pride, as now I have provided a worthy means to display these fine pieces of art that I hold special attachment to.

After 25 years in storage we placed the art on the living room wall. My mom loves the piece and still comments on how wonderfully the frame and mat compliment the art piece. This year when my father gave me one of his original Ansel Adams photos that was garishly framed I was ecstatic to know Chandler was still in business. I had a frame style in mind but Susan showed me how a small difference in the frame style that was still simple but emphasized the beauty of the photo. She also expertly chose a mat color that brought out details in the photo. I picked up the framed photo this week and it is spectacular. Surprisingly you do not pay that much more to have your art framed at Chandler than a Michaels or Fast Frame but the difference in quality is exponential. The difference is Susan's capability to help you choose a style you like while respecting the beauty of the art piece. You will not receive this type of experience and expertise at other framing companies.

I looked at several online vendors and they *almost* had what I wanted but I only had 3 weeks to ship before she presented to her partner. My concerns was that I had to trust an online vendor to get it there on time and have the right level of quality for the amount paid. I called a local Oakland press, Memento and talked to Josh the owner. He made me aware of even better options after looking at my photos and graphics and suggested a different type of layout/papertype that was suited for her level of sophistication and book quality. I sent the proof and specs, and within a few days they (thanks Sheryl!) produced a gorgeous leatherette black covered book with high quality matte paper with a slight laminate, perfect. Now the suspense was killing me, what did she think? The answer arrived this morning as I woke up to the clients text: "I got the book! It's beautiful. Thank you Kelly. For making me feel beautiful and helping me create this. I am forever grateful." I'm over the moon that they pulled this off and the client who has high standards loved it. So if you need exquisite quality by folks who know their stuff and an owner that has a great sense of what is needed and style, go to Memento press! I will be taking my photo to them the week of 8/15 and will let you know the results. The fact that Damir got back to me so quickly, thoroughly explaining the process and letting me know the cost...is what sold me. I had heard from others, however, they were not able to do what I was asking for, in the restoration of the photo. I'll check back in once I receive the completed project.

Unexpectedly, I thought up a project to salvage the mirror while adding character to my space and needed to remove the mirror from its frame. This felt risky to do on my own. After searching for frame shops, I came across Eco Framing and gave them a call. Eric answered and immediately said he'd be happy to help. They treated my project with care, removed the frame from the mirror for me and wrapped it safely so I could take it home to continue the next steps. BACKGROUND A friend of ours who we met on Yelp referred us to Soulmind a year ago and they've done some great work for us. Our latest projects: a custom sized planter and wood bench slats for some Berkeley Iron benches and side tables. PLANTER We have a space on our porch between two brick columns that desperately needed something in between to fill the void. Since we receive packages from time to time, what if we put a taller planter in that space that would not only beautify the space, but also hide any packages from porch pirates? Hence the planter idea was born. After taking measurements, we discussed the project with Erik and he gave us some ideas. I was thinking of something else but his design not only looks a lot bette than what I was thinking, but also it was easy to manufacture (thus saving us costs and assembly time). For this project unlike others, he drilled the pilot holes and even provided us the construction screws. How's that for service! We assembled the planter together using wood glue, screws, and lined it with a liner. Looks really nice on our porch! BERKELEY IRON BENCHES and SIDE TABLES The previous home owner didn't want to haul these benches as part of her move, so I saw the value in keeping them so we asked her to leave them for us. I disassembled one be happy and provided Erik and crew the dimensions. While it took some time to make as our order was back in their queue, the results were outstanding. We had some pieces that required a round over which we had to return to get done, but they got done without any fuss or extra charge. They used a marine grade wood and stained and sealed it to perfection. We're really happy. Each bench though takes a lot of work as we have to disassemble each bench, refurb and de-rust the hardware, clean, prime, and then paint each metal frame piece. Thus we only have one done so far. But check out the before and after pics. We are extremely happy with the results and we will save hundreds of dollars by taking the time to refurb these benches vs buying new ones. THANKS SOULMIND!

I got to work with Eric who helped us make these beautiful wooden signs exactly the way we wanted. He perfected the color, design, and size. He was very easy to work with and was very flexible in when I could pick them up as I worked really long hours as the commute from SF is quite painfully long. When I went inside he kindly gave me a tour to show me and the hubs all the neat machinery and projects they were working on from basic signs, to nic nacks, to full on flower/moss boards. It was a neat experience and it definitely made me see the time and effort Eric and his team put into each and every project. I will definately come back again if I ever need any woodwork designs again.
