The theater is unassuming, on a little strip mall, where there's plenty of parking ... and once inside...it's magic! The stage makes great use of space and very creative with the set and lighting. Seating is excellent... not a bad seat in the house. I didn't know photos weren't allowed, the one picture I took and posted of the set was when I walked in. Oops I turned off my phone after that was announced. I loved the play and the theater. I plan to come back again and again! Oh, we are still in COVID times, so everyone in the audience need to wear a mask.

The shows are always thought provoking and intimate. The main stage is always surrounded by seating with viewers close enough to reach out and touch the cast members. They are very creative with lighting and sets to make the most of what they have. The theater offers concessions and beverages to consume during the shows, however this has been suspended during the pandemic. From the street the theater is part of a strip mall on Osseo and isn't anything remarkable. Parking is plentiful and fairly well lit. The theater still requires proof of vac, and that patrons wear masks. Being in a high risk category, I appreciate the precautions! Yellow Tree is a great local theater worthy of your attention! The theater itself is pretty small, seems to seat about 200(ish). There is some seating that is in a balcony and there are some stairs. All in all, it was a fun space to see a play and will definitely be on the lookout for more performances in the future.

The tickets are reasonably priced and you can usually get one last minute of needed. The staff are really helpful and friendly in my experience. The seats are comfortable and there really isn't a bad spot to sit in order to have a great view of the stage. Parking is all street parking, so it can be a challenge on a busy night to find a close spot. After the shows I've been to, the actors all line up to say hello and sign your program. It is fun to congratulate them and say great work!

FREE parking ramp super close to the Stages Theatre which is very nice. They also have lap child passes for $5/kid (age 4 and under) for younger kids who want to sit in the lap of an adult vs having their own seats. Highly recommend checking out shows here!

I've probably seen more of their puppet shows than anyone on the planet. During the summer they do…read moretheir Driveway Tour, where they do scores of free shows in front yards, parks, libraries, and anywhere you are willing to host them (public bathroom?). My kids absolutely love The Amazing Cow Boat, Katie Tomatie in the Big City, and Little Grandpa in the Big City. Most people only hear about the shows actually happening in their neighborhood, but I scour their website for any and all shows at time and places we can make, showing up in the backyards of random people all over the city. We've also been to their theater itself to see Milly and Tilly (x2), and The Learning Fairy. These shows are not for the faint of heart, they are loud, high energy performances by nutty, nutty people. A bit too loud for my middle-aged ears, and can be too intense for 1 year-olds sitting in the front row, but holy cow the kids go nutty for these shows. My kids play act Milly and Tilly all the time. Plus, they often have complimentary ice cream afterward. Next summer they are going to create a new puppet show, can't wait.

Once we were seated for the show, I was entertained from beginning to end! Black Nativity was "black story telling" at it's best. Most people know the story of the birth of Jesus, which isn't a very long story in the Bible that lasts possibly 1 chapter. To make a story that you already know a two hour story, through narrator, holiday and church songs is AMAZING! The narrator, Jennifer Whitlock, had this rich, full speaking voice that captivated me throughout the show. Her speaking voice commanded attention, without taking away from the songbirds. Ms. Greta Oglesby had such an amazing voice. Her voice was so powerful, with depth and range and she and Mr. Dennis Spears were a great pair. Mr. Spears, a complete performer, with song and DANCE. You can see how much these two love music and sore in their field. Everyone was amazing and they "took us to church!" The dancers made us "feel" the story thru dance. Great seats no matter where you sit. Thoroughly enjoyed the Penumbra.

It was like watching parts of my own life play out before me. The theater is small and comfortable. So intimate that the audience cannot help but to be immersed in the drama unfolding just a few feet away. There are no bad seats in the house. My girlfriend and I were late (took too much time at dinner at The Happy Gnome) and were seated in the back. We were able to move to our seats during intermission. I actually liked the seats in the back better because it was a look straight onto the stage. Our seats were to the right. Again, not bad. I just liked the other view a bit better. Everyone with whom we interacted were nice and welcoming. This was my first time here and I plan to return.

I came in for a Theatre Elision production and I was STUNNED by the quality. They put on "Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812" and it was one of the best music-theater shows I have ever seen. And my credentials in that area are extremely respectable, if I do say so myself. As a venue for theater, this space is small but capable. The lobby has enough table seating in front of an elevated stage that at first I assumed that's where the show was going to take place. But no, the actual theater has all the trappings that a real company would expect, in a semi-black-box auditorium that allows flexibility. There is a selection of beer and wine, and not much else at the little concession counter. The production I saw was so good that I will talk about it with friends for the rest of my life. Super polished, extremely high level of musicianship, and an infectious energy level to match. Theatre Elision did such a remarkable job with this show that I will probably make the drive from St Paul to Crystal regularly for the foreseeable future to see what they do next.

The productions seem to be smaller cast productions with an intimate audience/actor experience. Seating was decent as there are armless chairs in the front and back row, with traditional armed theatre chairs for the smaller/regular sized folk. The talent was great as was the production. There was plenty of parking around the building.

The park & amphitheater are west of the Brooklyn Center Community Center, just north of Brooklyn Center Library & Government Center. It's on the Shingle Creek Regional Trail, which runs near the Shingle Creek. Two large paved free parking lots are available. There's a little bit of something for everyone: Trails, ball fields, playground, picnics, mature trees to relax under-maybe catch a performance on the amphitheater stage (Tuesday evenings during the summer-check their site for times & performers).
