I've been sitting on this review and trying to figure out how to describe my experience with Austin. In a nutshell, indescribable would be easy to say, but also the immediate feeling right after the session. I can breathe a bit better if not easier, weight on my shoulders feels lighter. And overall feels like I am freed by the 'mental shackles' that has had its hold on me for a long time. Like a veil has been lifted and I am now more at peace with myself, zen like state which is something I thought I had but this is completely different. With COVID having affected and changed so many lives in more ways than one since March 2020 (well…read moreover a year now as of this writing), psychologists and therapists have been in such high demand! I came across DalyBeth and Positive Health Hawaii after searching around for places that had openings and/or were accepting new patients, which as expected was super hard to come by and especially within a short time. Having been living alone and hardly able to see the closest friends for the last year now along with dealing with lots of tension within another organization that I'm working for on a part-time basis, I've been trying to seek help with my mental health and depression that has literally taken its toll on my life, I am very thankful for DalyBeth! She has been willing to listen to my situation and stories and has made plenty of helpful suggestions on helping myself relieve stress from my life. Now although I haven't gotten to some of them quite yet and admittedly may not be comfortable doing certain ones just yet, I've taken lots of notes and been trying to put her advice to great use. I'll definitely be consulting with DalyBeth periodically and again very soon, and hopefully I'll get to meet her in-person. Right now, lots of these psychologists and therapists are doing telehealth sessions or through online sources like ZOOM (not a fan of virtual events, quite frankly).

I've gone from no hobbies and having hard times with emotions, to hitting my first invert at pole dance class and having almost two years of recognizing my emotions. In the midst in life we tend to forget to take care of our mental health and not till I was 23 I…read moredidn't realize how much its so important to take care of ourselves mentally because that's what impacts the most of what we do in our day to day lives. I was really going through a hard breakup and felt continuously anxious, worried, and depressed. I started to lose interest in the things I love doing such as dancing, hanging out with friends, adventuring, etc. My mental health was so bad, my focus at work was deteriorating and all I wanted to do is just sleep at home. So my best friend recommended Hawaii Counseling and Wellness Center because she was going through a lot of personal issues too. She recommended Coren Kajioka so I gave it a chance and called their office to schedule the appointment. The office is located on the 15th floor at room #1510 so then I arrived there, the receptionist were very friendly and welcoming, quiet atmosphere, and there is coffee and tea for you to enjoy. They accept HMSA, UHA, HMAA, and plans with "out of network". My experience here was very helpful and I felt that my issues were addressed and Kajioka gave me the proper steps to help better myself as a person. He made me feel that my feelings are valid and I feel very valued. I was battling with a 'sense of failure' as a father/husband/person due to what I thought was from financial pressures and a lack of empathy, accountability with my was breaking down my relationship with my wife. His counseling experience and deep knowledge of behavioral therapy identified a possible 'Complex Relational trauma response' disorder that my wife showed signs of displaying. Justin helped me understand her trauma response and how I was reacting to her issues with my own issues which triggered her fear, abandonment, frustration, mistrust, and gravitation to conflict which induced my own defensiveness reactions and anger. He provided me with my own personal tools to deploy on a regular basis. These helped me be nice to myself and appreciate my purpose and that I was actually doing my best to improve myself and provide love most importantly. I've developed a deeper understanding and awareness of myself and Justin's actionable tools and strategies are much more than what most other life coaches or counselors can deliver. Its his ability to land these strategies/tools on point and get you to understand how to employ them to get better/improve/develop yourself With this guidance I've noticed I've become more empathetic, less reactive and more self caring so my family can continue to heal, and our relationship and welfare of ourselves benefits our family.
