Additionally, I opted for a facial aura treatment and received a comprehensive 20-page analysis, which was thoughtfully provided after the treatment. The entire experience was truly exceptional. This is what really stood out, is they placed the numbing cream and allow you to relax in the room with the lights down in a blanket while the numbing cream is taking effect so that you don't feel the injections that I've felt previously. So I was sure to clarify 20 additional units at $5 a unit. Total around $100(yes I did clarify $100). To which the injector said yes. When I walked to the front to pay I was told 3x that price, over $300. Obviously I was shocked and objected, but I was met with a condescending tone. I was told that there must have been a misunderstanding on my part and that I was told Botox units. Even though I was Sure I clarified the dose and pricing prior to injection. The women continued to repeat herself over and over in a rude manner stating there was nothing she could do and that technically I was given $5 a unit but for 60 units not 20. So beware they dose in Botox units no matter which product they provide to you and even if you clarify the price and dosing they will change it on you before you check out. This is deception marketing. This strategy is to confuse you and require you to do the math at bedside to figure out your actual cost. Huge disappointment. Extremely embarrassing situation that they exploited. This is suppose to be a treat.

Price is a little higher than some other spas but you get the extra massage. Changing area and overall room a little small but the overall square footage of the spa is relatively smaller than others. It was funny, I liked the velcro-topped towel wrap that I changed into but the first one was extremely large for me. A little inconvenient to have the restrooms outside of the facility but staff very graciously directs you and even offers you paper towels since the building provides only air dryers. Nice touch. Free parking available nearby at Whole Foods, the Consolidated Theatres lot, and the lot behind Merriman's. Nowadays many spas don't have convenient free parking.

Seek other opinions, if necessary but when you've found the right one, you'll know. I hadn't even finished the consult and I knew Dr. Murariu was my guy for the job. I made a joke about being ready for the procedure that day but alas, as wonderful doctors are on a severe shortage, he was booked! Dr. M validated my feelings and concerns, answering every.single.one of my questions with compassion, humility and empathy. Our consultation alone was very authentic and patient centered which established trust, and showed his passion and genuine care for my wellbeing. I had chin and neck liposuction, fat transfer to chin as well as Thermage to my face and neck. This has been a problem area and a real sore spot for my ego since I was a teen. The procedure itself was just as I expected. I was awake the whole time, chatting and filling the room with lots of laughter. We even experienced a bit of an actual earthquake, too! I felt no pain, aside from the needle injection of tumescent which didn't last long at all. There is a lot of what feels like pushing and tugging but I was more concerned with Dr. M's back being sore from being hunched over (he's so tall!). There remains beneath-the-surface healing but the worst part is long in the past and was short-lived. I went home with my face bandaged like a mummy (kidding), and was able to open my mouth just enough to slurp some soup (not kidding). Whatever your instructions are from your surgeon, follow them! They're there for a reason, sometimes beyond our know. I wish I could quantify my aliveness in a container and compare the impact this procedure had on my life. It was such a huge step forward and I am beyond thankful to all at Athena Clinic but especially to the talented Dr. Murariu. COST: I initially went for a consultation at another clinic, and I was quoted prices that were not only out of line for the procedure I wanted but were genuinely astronomical. It stands to reason they would charge so much more when you realize that you are paying for nearly 100 staff members who mostly do everything but surgery (i.e., facials, etc.). After doing my due diligence, speaking with a number of women who have been patients of Dr. Feguson, and then coming in for the initial consult, I was so thoroughly impressed by Emma, Theresa, and company that I paid for everything right there on the spot. The total cost was slightly less than half of what the other joint quoted me. RESULTS: Let's face it... we're all getting older, and some of us are uglier than others. I was getting so ugly and wrinkly that I would wear a wig backward, put a mask on the back of my head, and walk in reverse everywhere I went. I'm not kidding. Small children would shriek and cry, women would shout "EEK!" and run away, and dogs would make that high-pitched howling they do when they hear a fire engine siren. Doctor Ferguson fixed that problem, and now I can't keep my hands off myself. I'm sure that is probably illegal in several states, but I don't care. HAPPY ENDING: Ladies, you can bet your sweet patootie that if I need more surgery to entice women to throw their lingerie at me, I will make The Ferguson Clinic my first and only stop!
