I have 5 pieces to glaze next week and to gift for the holidays. Our class had around 8 people and the cool part is we were all ages, from high school to 20s, 40s, and older. The owners teach the course and are pretty kind and helpful. They also offer additional days for practice, monthly memberships, and lots of extra help if needed. I plan to continue visiting via a membership or repeating the 4 week course.

From the moment you walk in this place has so much charm and potential for whatever event is being held there! The bar display was beautiful ! A real class piece. We took some pictures as we entered the speakeasy entryway with nice lighting. The main room was so spacious and wide. We had room for a stage/band and about 45 tables of various sizes for seating, trees, wreathes, silent auction items and more! There was veggie and cracker tray out for a snack before the buffet opened. The restrooms were absolutely beautiful as well, clean and stocked through the event. KY Mudworks' cone 6 clays…read moreare superior in every way, excellent for throwing, and fully vitrify (0.5% absorption) at cone 6. Almost no other cone 6 clays vitrify this well at this temp. I ordered clay online as well and the website was clear about relevant delays and the reasons why- including certain ingredients being harder to access or changes to formulations. There are similar delays to much larger websites, and this local business feels like a better use of money. The person who helped me was friendly and available for my questions without making me feel pressured to buy anything. I will keep coming back for KY Mudworks brand clays (especially Iceman and Sheltowee) and glazes (their clear glaze is flawless, and Sequoia is another favorite).

Many times food on buffets is older the later in the day it gets and I feel that unfortunately if you pay for a service in advance the (servers) that they do not work for what they know is already a guarantee their tip. Copper Roux was very helpful to allow me to pay after our meal. They assured me that the food would indeed be fresh due to a new serving time beginning at 1:30. I know that we have all had a buffet service that was more for to feed the multitude and for the ambiance than for the taste of food. Unfortunately this was the case for there Easter Brunch.The food appeared to be left from the first brunch serving. My husband and I did not have any food that was hot or fresh from the buffet. All of the hot food lids were open, there was a choice of 4 pieces of Fried chicken, the corn pudding pan had a square left and was sitting in a pool of water. I saw our server 2 times first when she came to take drink orders, I asked for orange juice and she did not answer so I ordered water, later I saw orange come around the corner for another quest and I said to my husband,hmm they do have OJ. Then at the end of my meal I received an orange juice. Bottom line is they are very communicative getting you set up for a reservation and I am hopeful that on a smaller scale there quality of food and service would be what one would expect for 2 people at $97. I would not recommend or attend a special event brunch at this restaurant based on food and service.

However the last few times I've been there, the staff have been really snobby and condescending. This last time, they were so rude, I'd rather pay retail from Michael's, Joann's, or on Amazon. While there, staff was discussing problems filling their classes. There was a class 2 people had signed up for, but 1 cancelled, so they cancelled the class. I thought, "No wonder." I've come to the realization they are insular rather than friendly. It's an unpleasant, exclusionary atmosphere. No thanks.
