We were introduced to Kathy and Victor through our wedding planner and coordinator Karen of Aficial Events. From our first meeting during our tasting all the way through to our wedding day, Kathy and Victor were so much fun to work with! It felt like we were talking to family whenever we met. We had almost 200 guests at our wedding and opted for a buffet-style dinner, and they DELIVERED, in record time! Our guests raved about the food at our backyard wedding. We chose the lobster empanadas, coconut shrimp, and bacon wrapped scallops as our appetizers, and they were gone just as soon as the trays came out! We also had multiple complements on the champagne chicken, and my personal favorite was their mixed vegetables. The food was quality, simply delicious, and perfect for our wedding. We've always heard about brides and grooms who don't have a chance to enjoy the food at their own wedding, but Kathy brought a whole tray of appetizers for just the two of us during cocktail hour. She created a special moment for us to enjoy the food together amidst all the blissful wedding chaos, and we will always remember that. Kathy and her husband were professional and easy to communicate with throughout the entire planning process. During cocktail hour their staff worked with our wedding planner's team to flip the ceremony into the reception. They worked quickly and efficiently to set up all the tables, chairs, and reception décor, and it was beautiful. They are so kind and thoughtful, from start to finish it was an absolute dream. On top of all their incredible service, the food is absolutely delectable and delicious! They offer so many different flavorful options on their menu that it was difficult to decide what to pick from their menu. At the tasting we were in heaven. We had incredible appetizers during cocktail hour, as well as seafood stations (their ceviche, jerk chicken skewers, and bacon wrapped dates are unreal!). We chose to do a family style dinner with salad, rolls, veggies, and three main dishes (ravioli, champagne chicken, and braised short ribs). Their serving staff was so warmhearted and made the evening feel all the more special. They had appetizers set aside for my husband and I after the ceremony and we were able to actual enjoy mouthwatering dinner! We also rented linens through ArtQuest and Kathy was phenomenal in bringing our ideas and colors to life.  Could not recommend them more highly! When we were seeking out caterers for our wedding we asked a lot of questions of potential clients, but one question was more important than the rest: can you do lechón? We wanted the whole roast pig, no compromises. Most places, shockingly, did not offer this service. Victor & Kathy, however, didn't bat an eye. Absolutely, they said. In fact, they worked with us to construct a menu for a whole Filipino feast, complete with pancit and halo-halo for desert. Now, Victor was up front with us that it was not his first lechón, it would be their first time catering Filipino. As such, they invited us for a tasting allowing us to confirm that their rendition would hold up to the scrutiny of visiting relatives. You might not have mistaken it for nanang's pancit, but it was still delicious. After the tasting, we offered feedback and chose to switch out a few dishes. Victor and Kathy were extremely receptive to feedback. You could just tell they loved their work. Leading up to the wedding Kathy and Victor were very communicative. They followed up to all our coordination, met with us during the walkthrough, and worked with us to finalize menu design. They made sure that there were enough dishes for vegetarians to have a full meal, and even made additional specialized entrees for our vegan guests. On the day of the wedding everything went very smoothly. The lechon was impressive, and a huge hit with the guests. We only wish we could have eaten more of it! The day was packed so we barely had a bite. The appetizers we had were tastefully arranged and generous. I will say that the coconut shrimp was excellent, and the lechon skin was the perfect balance crispy and chewy. For dessert, ArtQuest worked with a local halo-halo shop to provide individual cups for everyone as dessert, and was considered by everyone in attendance to be on the whole much better than cake. So if all that isn't enough to convince you that ArtQuest is the right choice to cater your wedding, I will mention that they also connected us with our wedding coordinator Ashley Mayo, who was amazing, so in addition to excellent service they keep excellent company as well. She was a God sent! Without her, I probably would have lost my mind from all the stress of wedding planning. They all worked together with us, to iron on the fine details of our cocktail hour, reception and time line. Countless e-mails, phone calls, face-to-face meetings all went into our planning and each time, they were so gracious and patient and VERY excited for us! We appreciated the opportunity to work with Kathy & Victor to customize Reception and Bar menus. This allowed us to express our own personal tastes at our wedding..........everything came out so delicious! Their world class traveling experience has allows them to provide the best tastes which can entice any palate from any background. Victor and Kathy are THE BEST. We hired them to cater our wedding on a recommendation from our wedding planner and we were not disappointed! From the moment we walked into their shop we felt welcomed as family. They were so friendly and enthusiastic, full of great suggestions. Their prices are also very reasonable (the lowest quote we got, actually) and they don't try to nickel-and-dime you on every little thing like some other wedding vendors. For our wedding, we did tray-passed appetizers and then a taco station as the main course. The taco station included freshly-made, hand-pressed corn tortillas which were AMAZING and also a great touch. I think every couple is worried that the food at the wedding won't be as high-quality as the food served during the tasting, but we could not have been more wrong! The food was absolutely delicious and we received rave reviews from our guests on the tacos- including many very discriminating Southern Californians :) We only ordered a small wedding cake from Kathy & Victor to cut for photos (the main dessert was a Hammond's ice cream bar), so we just asked for a cheap plain white cake. We weren't even expecting people to eat it, but it was so tasty that it disappeared quick and guests were disappointed they couldn't get seconds! If we could do it over we probably would have ordered a bigger cake from ArtQuest because it was so good. Overall, we could not recommend ArtQuest highly enough. Victor and Kathy with ArtQuest Catering are absolutely amazing and a huge highlight of my wedding! From our very first email, they were so kind, professional, and responsive to our every request. When we met with them in person, we were blown away by how lovely they are - they immediately connected with us on a personal level and made us feel like family! They worked with us to create a unique menu based on our favorite foods and within the restrictions of a mostly-vegetarIan kosher style diet. The food itself was absolutely delicious. We had 3 stations - mac and cheese, flatbreads, and Mediterranean, as well as passed appetizers and varied mini desserts. I was so nervous about the Mac and cheese as it is my favorite food, but it was so unique and delicious, so I was thrilled! My husband, who is not a fan of Mediterranean food, even enjoyed that station as well! All of our guests absolutely raved about all of the food and the service all ran so smoothly. They also provided us with bartending service, allowing us to bring in the alcohol while they supplied mixers, glasses, etc. We were also able to rent all of our linens, chairs, and even our chuppah from them, making them an amazing one-stop shop. Overall we were so thrilled with the food, service, professionalism, and most especially the kindness of Victor and Kathy. It pains me to give Kathy and Victor a semi bad review but overall I was not completely satisfied... First the good: From the first time we met Kathy and Victor we loved them!!!! Their energy and enthusiasm was great! They were a little out of our price range but they assured us everything was well worth it. So we went ahead and signed the contract. The whole planning process, meetings, and how well they kept in touch was awesome! I have no complaints there. Kathy was amazing. Then, the day of the wedding came and this is where I was disappointed. We hired the wedding coordinator through them and she was fantastic as well.... I know there will always be flaws on the wedding day but not like the ones I had... First, appetizers. They were very delicious and we paid for an hour of passed appetizers... Yes we paid per person and there was actually less people than we had guaranteed. Well not everyone got appetizers. Waiters seemed to be taking forever to come out and pass them around. I heard from a few of my guests that they walked by the kitchen and there was plenty of trays that still had a lot of appetizers on them. So not everything for passed around. When dinner came around we were guaranteed that the bread would be warm and the butter would be room temperature.. It was written in the contract. Well when we got our food, the bread was cold and butter was super cold like it has just gotten out of the fridge. My groom was very upset. We had a buffet dinner and like I said before, not everyone showed up, so some people got up for seconds. Well dinner was supposed to be for an hour and nope they started collecting all the food early. Again I went to the kitchen and saw there was about 6 trays still full of food. We had a few people get there a bit late but still within the hour for dinner and they didnt get a plate. Oh and the bar ran out of coke very fast. They knew I was having rum and coke and jack and coke so I would think they would have taken plenty for it to last all night. So they just made the drinks with diet coke. Now for the cake. I ordered the cake for 200 people and once again we were under 200 people. Well after the wedding I asked my guest how the cake tasted and a lot of people didn't get any. 2 guest told me there was 3 waiters who were eating cake in the back. I sure hope it wasn't MY cake. The piece my groom and I cut, we set it down at our table and were going to go back to eat it. Well we didnt. Our slice got picked up and we were pretty upset because we didnt even eat our cake. I requested a children's table and paid for the linen and chairs, well that didn't get set up until later in the night. I made treat bags for the kids and they never got put out. The thing that got me the most upset was how unprofessional Kathy and Victor looked the day of the wedding. When I arrived at the venue into the room where my reception was going to be taking place and they were having a tasting for a couple!!!! I am a chef and have been in the industry for a few years now and if I have learned anything is never to conduct business on someone else's day... And if u do have it be private in a separate room. I was furious that the waiters and food I paid for were being served to these people. Granted that they may have taken extra for the couple or whatever but to me it just seemed like the services I paid for were also being used for them to book another gig. Second, they treated my florist very poorly and degraded her business and professionalism in front of her kids. I found that to be very rude. I have not talked to either one of them because based on the bad reviews here they tend to be not so nice And I'm pretty sure they won't refund any money. Like I said before, they were amazing and great and I had a great experience, but the wedding day well that was a different story. And it is small things here and there but overall my guest had fun and thats all that mattered. read more

I really don't even know where to begin with how grateful I am for Kathy, Victor, and Diane. They treated us like family and truly made us feel like we were their only client. I had about a million questions for them and Kathy not only responded immediately to every email, but she seemed enthusiastic and proficient in all correspondence. Every time we met with them, they did what they could to help save us a buck. I felt like they were truly trying to make me happy and not trying to take advantage. Kathy recommended we use Diane for flowers and day of coordination. I would have been LOST without Kathy scheduling the events on my wedding day? We Kathy, Diane and Victor were kind, generous, outgoing and did everything to ensure that our wedding day was spectacular. I still am getting Facebook posts, calls, and notes from my family and friends telling us that our wedding was the best they have attended. They handled everything from chairs, tables, linens, DJ, lights, ceremony, picking up supplies, etc. I was very skeptical about the hype behind weddings in general. But thanks to ArtQuest I can easily say our wedding was the best day in my life. The food was fantastic, they had plenty of servers to keep everyone's drinks and stomachs full. Everywhere I looked people were smiling, laughing and having a terrific time. Artquest, turned the Soledad club (has a very plain and ugly interior with out decoration) into a beautiful wedding venue. If you are going to use the Soledad Club, Artquest really knows how to make that place shine! Another huge bonus point was the staff. From bartenders, to servers, to event manager you could tell they loved their jobs. They were so pleasant, smiling, having fun. The service and professionalism was above and beyond anything I could have expected. I know many catering companies use unemployed San Diego transplants who do not like their jobs, this is NOT the case with Artquest. Their staff was top notch! Our wedding was July of 2009, and to this day, when we talk to our friends and family, they rave about the food and service that ArtQuest catering provided. They used my garage as a make shift kitchen, and every morsel of food was fabulous. We chose to have a multi course sit down dinner. The service was phenomenal. Our water glasses were never empty, and the food was incredibly delicious. There was so much food that our guests were taking leftover steaks home. (my grandmother was thrilled!). We used ArtQuest for our wedding catering at the Coronado Community Center. Victor and Kathy are fantastic people! They worked within our budget, even going above and beyond in doing so, and provided fantastic service, food and decor for our reception. They really made my wife feel like our wedding was special throughout the planning, and worked well with all of the other contractors throughout. We were complimented on the professionalism of the waitstaff as well as the quality of the food. We bought our own alcohol, but used their bartender and he was very good. I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Artquest in February for a wedding at which I was the Day of Coordinator hired by the client. The Bride had hired Artquest to take care of everything for the wedding, Rentals, Catering, Bar Service, even Florals. I was just there to organize it all. Their staff made my job so much easier. Every time I needed something done, there were at least 3 people on it right away! Their whole staff was so amazing to work with. Not only were they amazing on the day of the wedding, they were their every step of the way for the Bride and Groom, making sure that everything would be perfect for them. From the very first time that we set foot in their showroom, we knew that we had found the right people to work with for our catering and rentals. Victor and Kathy made us feel like family and truly made the entire process a breeze. We recently used ArtQuest to cater our wedding and we could not be happier with the outcome. ArtQuest was the 2nd catering company we met with and pretty much right away we knew they were the right choice. Not only are Kathy, Victor and Diane great people but the food and service provided was incredible. Also, Diane's husband Mario officiated our ceremony. He did a fantastic job of easing our nerves and making it a short but meaningful ceremony. Everybody at ArtQuest was so helpful with any adjustments we wanted to make and overall made the experience very enjoyable. Victor even created a new chicken dish for us after we described what we were interested in and it was a huge hit with our guests. The Food: First of all, the appetizers were so good that they were gone before we got any... seriously. We chose the coconut shrimp, beef teriyaki sticks and bacon wrapped scallops, all getting rave reviews. There is nothing worse than going to a wedding and being served a cold, pre-plated meal. We did a buffet style dinner and the portions were huge. Everything was fresh and delicious from the grilled mediterranean vegetables to the prime rib carving station. Absolutely, the best food I have ever had at a wedding and several guests said the same. I would definitely use them to cater other events. The Service: Diane was not only our flower and decorations expert, but also our day-of coordinator but she went above and beyond just coordinating the wedding day. She kept us involved throughout the process with emails and phone calls which was very helpful. Leading up to the wedding, she coordinated setup and delivery with all of our vendors and helped make changes on the fly when things didn't go as originally planned. ArtQuest provided all of the rentals as well such as chairs, tables, linens, etc. which also made our lives easier. The People: The main reason we chose ArtQuest was because we immediately liked and trusted everything about them. Victor and Kathy felt like our parents setting up the wedding, concerned about everything we wanted to do and not leaving out any details. They are truly a small, family business and we felt comfortable through every step of the process. Choosing the right catering company is probably the most important step when planning a wedding, and we definitely made the right choice. I am in the process of using ArtQuest Catering for my wedding! Let me tell you this, if you are on a budget but need a good presentable caterer and helps you in everything you need for you wedding? Yes? Well then look no further. Victor and Kathy remind me of my parents (in a good way) they are parents themselves and help you in EVERYTHING that you many need, if you can't pay all at once, of course they will help you with your budget payment plans just like me! We decided getting the 'buffet style' food choice, and what is included in OUR package is just amazes me with the price and service they provide. They literally treat you as if they are your family, how great is that? they are so welcoming and very loving to be around it's just nice that there are still people out there who are in business like this for weddings who do not pressure you do buy their services or anything at all. We just recently finished our taste testing for our food for the wedding, and let me tell you, they presented it as if it was your big day. The food, the servers, the works. Our favorite was the penne pasta with the special sauce that Victor created, it was a creamier marinara sauce! and the asparagus, and tri-tip deee-lish! Yes, we are having some of THAT for the wedding. Everything they include too, the chair covers, the sashes for the chair, the table linens,..I mean I didn't have to go ANYWHERE else because they helped with all of that, even a wedding planner! They even help you with alcohol and give us some money saving ideas! let me tell ya! The owners and managers of ArtQuest are a super-friendly and hard-working married couple named Victor and Kathy. From the beginning, Kathy takes copious notes as they discuss what is important to you at your event. For whoever is the "planner" in your relationship, let this put your mind at ease - ArtQuest is, without a doubt, the most organized vendor I have seen in the bridal industry. What you see with this company in meetings and tastings is exactly what you get for your wedding day - from what I've heard about other catering companies, this is not always the case. On the day of our tasting with ArtQuest, we met the man who would be our event captain (in charge of all servers), and the food we sampled was exactly how it looked and tasted on the big day. Victor has taken time to develop recipes for their dishes, and even has a bread machine, in which they make homemade rolls (highly recommended). All of what we ordered was good, but we received especially high reviews from the empanadas (one of our tray-passed appetizers) and the four-cheese ravioli in homemade vodka sauce (my favorite from the evening). We also served tri tip, a type lemon chicken (also very good), potatoes, grilled vegetables, and a salad with mixed greens and strawberries. The fruit and cheese display option was a great choice for us, because not only do Kathy and Victor make it look amazing, our guests appreciated the ability to grab a snack when they needed one. Also, we had an INCREDIBLE ice sculpture of an elephant, which was modeled after the wedding favors we handed out. I underestimated how much an ice sculpture could add to the ambiance of a party - our photographer even took some creative shots with our wedding rings on the ice elephant. Not to be overlooked are the table arrangements - ArtQuest provided our linens, glass blocks, LED tea lights and chargers to make for a unique and welcoming dinning table for each of our guests. They also have a convenient bar package for glassware and mixers, if your venue allows you to bring your own alcohol. Gauging an exact guest count is nearly impossible for any bride or groom, and it's frustrating to pay for meals for empty seats. We had about 12 guests cancel within the last two weeks, which we heard was typical, but didn't think it would happen to us! Whichever caterer you choose, provide a guest count number below your current estimate - the company will have no problem issuing you an additional bill if you go over your estimate. ArtQuest will work within your budget to maximize what they can provide. The genuinely care about your event going well, which is evident in their detailed follow-through. We felt it was crucial to hire top-notch professionals, so that we could relax and enjoy our time with friends and family. We had complete faith in Kathy and Victor as professionals, and they lived up to all expectations.
