Tried this through a work event that used them for catering. Wowow. So much flavor in the meat but I was also blown away with the toppings bar. We had three different types of meat options. They used a corn tortilla that they heat up on the grill top and you can choose to have cheese melted on it or not. For the toppings they had the standard salsa, onions, cilantro but they also gave avocado, braised onions and peppers, etc. Would recommend! read more

We recently attended an event at Santee Lakes that was catered by Taquizas Los Chuchys. The food was fantastic. On the menu: Tacos! Al Pastor, Pollo and Carne Asada. All with or without melted cheese. Sides were Pinto Beans and Mexican Rice. Roasted jalapeños and peppers, sautéed onions, raw onions, cilantro, radishes, guacamole and two fabulous salsas were the condiments. Corn tortillas handmade on-site! The best corn tortillas! They even had drinks available. Agua de Jamaica and Agua de Tamarindo. The pollo and the carne asada were excellent. Make no mistake about it. Both were grilled up perfectly. Both flavorful and delicious. The Al Pastor was next level. Marinated pork piled high on a vertical spit. Sittin' and spinnin' gettin' all happy. Thinly sliced and piled high on one of those tortillas. WOW! So good! I just wanted to camp out in front of the grill and just have one after the other. I refrained... The beans and rice were great too. For dessert I had a cup of beans with roasted peppers, sautéed onions and jalapeños topped with some of the al pastor. Fantastic! Had employee appreciation day at work today. Taquizas Los Chuchys crew pulled up and started putting their canopy up and grilling station. They had a table with salsa, condiments, utensils, napkins, limes, sliced radish and Jalapeno onions. They started cooking once the grill was turned on and got to working. It was a two staff crew, very impressive! She made the tortillas fresh and he cooked the meat and chicken. Everything was fresh! The salsa had great flavor and a kick to it. Okay so this past weekend we stumbled upon this taco place..however I can't check in because the address is not in Chula Vista ,and it is NOt in National City..it is in Down Town San Diego off G St. First and Foremost the seating out side is small and has an Umbrella for shade. Inside is small and not for last groups, Unlimited Drinks. The Guacamole no tomato and for this 4 stars but lacked lemons and salt. I ordered the Carn Asada Fries no pico de gallo . Phenomenal. They just catered our event for about 200 people. The experience was fantastic from start to finish. Customer service: Communication was excellent. They were quick, courteous, and enthusiastic in their initial response. I had follow up questions and alterations, which they also handled swiftly. On the day of the event, the staff who showed up were polite, professional, and lovely with our guests. They cleaned up well, leaving no trace. Food: Superb. Tortillas are hand pressed and cooked onsite. The meats were excellent; flavorful, juicy, no gristly pieces. The Al pastor was cooked on a spit and was the best I've had outside of Mexico. The food, fresh tortillas, and agua frescas were delicious, but their on-site service at our Celebration of Life event was atrocious. They showed up on time and our experience leading up to the event was great. But on the day of, multiple guests complained that their staff gave attitude when they asked for additional portions of food or a piece of aluminum foil. We had enough food for 135 people, and only 85-90 showed up, so there was plenty to go around. They acted inconvenienced and weren't friendly at all. Granted foil paper is our responsibility to provide, but it's not right to treat guests so poorly, especially when they're grieving. Food is just as important as service, and if they can't provide the service I'll look elsewhere that will provide both. I won't be using them again. read more

Our family has attended numerous taco parties and, hired many, many taqueros for what seems like decades and I have yet to come across a better one in SD! All it took for me was the first time one of my nephews hired these guys for his kid's birthday party, and I was beyond impressed with the taste, quality, and attention to complete taco detail. We won't even consider a taquero that doesn't hand-make the tortillas, this is an absolute must. So that's our first prerequisite. Then, what do they offer? Asada, adobada, pollo, mulitas, quesadillas, etc. All of the above, as well as delicious salsas and aguas frescas. The full spread. My favorite salsa is the molcajete style with roasted peppers. They really have it all!! I usually make it a point when I attend these taco gatherings to investigate the place doing the catering. This gives me a reference for comparisons and contrasts. Normally averaging around $10-12 a head when you shop around. After trying them on 3 separate occasions, I was impressed with the taste and consistency. A close friend of my wife's asked me for a recommendation recently for her husband's b-day, since she knows I'm on Yelp. We do NOT recommend this taquero, spend your $ elsewhere. Workers were very slow, they did not have food prepared at time they stated. Line was moving super slow almost as if they wanted to use up the time by serving slowly. They were not prepared to serve the portion that they allow per person (4-5 tacos). They ran out of tortillas almost immediately (what kind of taquero runs out of tortillas??!), guacamole was out early on also. They did not have rice like they were supposed to! A lot of our guest unfortunately left our event without getting to eat, and the guest that did eat got maybe 2 tacos at most. Absolute embarrassment! So I booked this place for my engagement party and let me tell you, they did not disappoint!!! Because my party had about 150 people attending, I booked for 100 to keep in mind that not everybody would want tacos. Just so you know, when you put 100 ppl as your guest count, they estimate about 4-5 tacos per person, which was perfect! The tacos were sooo delicious! AND the Mexican rice as well!!! What was also a huge hit were the watermelon and pineapple frescas that I chose, and because of my party size, they provided 5 gallons of each flavor and it was just the perfect amount. Probably the best catered taco stand I have ever had. I ate a little of everything and it was all outstanding. They set up in my friends backyard and started cooking.
