There were books everywhere, which reminded me of a scavenger hunt or finding hidden treasure. In spite of the seeming disorganized nature of the book stacks, there was a sense of purpose in how they were arranged. In my opinion, the prices seemed a little high, or maybe I'm so accustomed to paying only a few dollars for my books. Either way, I very much enjoyed my time sifting through the mountains of books. The staff member at the desk seemed personable, once engaged in conversation. He even made a great recommendation for lunch. Please don't let places like this disappear from our collective memory. I actually think their children section is much larger compared to other stores, which I think is perfect for families. Personally I prefer fantasy/fiction books and that specific selection was much smaller compared to other stores, however they had some of the most popular titles. Besides books, they have a nice selection of stationary items, puzzles and other games. They definitely had some very unique finds I hadn't seen anywhere else. Last but not least, they do have a rewards program and for every $100 you spend you get credit to your next purchase which I thought was pretty nice and a good incentive to support local businesses. They have been independently and family-owned for over 40 years, and they are a must-stop for all book and music lovers out there. This store is HUGE with over half-a-million books, movies, music and memorabilia. However, I think what makes them extra special is the curated selection of Horror and Thriller books, including some very unique collectibles. I am more into contemporary, so keep in mind those books are located on the top floor of their second building. Their children's book section was also incredible but frankly I didn't have the patience to go through them. This store can be a little overwhelming so definitely take a breath and ask for help if you can't find the genre you are looking for.
