I went to this spot during their pop-in hours of 1200 to 1600, or 12 to 4PM, on a Monday because…read morethat is what their website listed as available. I am not sure why Google says that they are closed on Mondays, because that is not true. I recommend that you call before you head over so you can confirm 2 things: 1. that they are actually open, and 2. that the event listed on their website is happening. Thankfully, Google was correct about the phone number, so I was able to contact the right person and confirm everything before coming in. When I walked in, I really liked the atmosphere. There were paintings hung all around the space from different artists and locations, which made it feel very homey and community-focused. You can tell that it is a local spot that highlights the people who live in the area, and I loved that. Even the bathroom was pretty clean! They have sinks in the painting area, which is super convenient if you get paint on your hands, like I did The pop-in area had about 6 easels, and for the session you can paint on an 11x14 canvas (I think that was the size) for a $20 fee -- $22 after tax. They get the area set up for you, and they offer aprons. I am not sure if the aprons are washed because they did have paint all over them, but that is expected in an art studio... The canvas that they provided was clean and new, too, though the easels had layers of paint from previous sessions, which is also expected. The staff even gets the paint for you before you start your project, which is nice! I also really appreciated that they had binders full of painting ideas you could choose from, or you could just create your own if you preferred. On top of that, they had stencils available, which was super helpful. I did the "Happy Little Washington" painting, and it required a stencil of the Washington state outline. The staff got one ready for me! They were kind enough to trace it and cut it out for me, so I thank them for doing that -- it made the process so much easier. I gave this place a slightly lower rating because I felt like the tour could have been much better. I did not realize at first that I could get my own paint, so I kept asking the worker for help when I did not need to. A proper walkthrough of the studio, the supplies, and even the artwork (which is a highlight of the space) would have made the experience clearer and smoother. It all felt a bit glossed over, even though those details are part of what make this studio stand out. For parking, you can use the retail parking area. According to the worker, they do not rely check there...Just remember that when you arrive, you do not enter through the nearest door -- you have to walk around to the street-facing entrance to get inside. The staff was welcoming and helpful; I just think a more thorough tour would have prevented me from having to interrupt them while they were cleaning the studio. Snacks were available, such as candy and chocolate bars, at $2 each, and they had loud music playing on the overhead speakers, which I loved! Super duper good music taste. Where have you been all my life?!!! We found out they've…read moreonly been around for a couple of years. Family owned business, dad helps out, so does their son, mom teaches pottery classes. So we celebrated 5 birthdays, 12 of us came to paint ceramics, we brought snacks, and drinks. If you didn't have any snacks, this place has snacks and candy you can purchase. Since we were a large group we took the upstairs level. Not easy for people with knee problems, but we managed. So we set up our snacks, Italian sodas, and birthday cake, then we went downstairs to choose what we wanted to paint. Items range anywhere from 20.00 and up. One of the birthday girls had to bring her granddaughter and she had a blast. Another young gal took her newborn and carried him in a pouch while she painted. Staff was very helpful. We had a color chart to choose our colors, we told them what we wanted and they brought to us and replenished paint when needed. Each station had water, sponges, brushes, lazy Susan, and a tray for your paint. We held the space for two hours. Perfect timing because they closed at 5pm on Sunday. They will glaze our projects, and next week one of us will pick it up and bring to everyone. Now we want to go back and take a pottery class. Everything is so affordable including the classes. I've been to a few paint your own pottery places and had recently seen this place so decided to…read morestep in a whim with two people. Make sure you wear layers, it was FREEZING inside. I'm used to more of a selection of pottery to paint, but there were still definitely something for everyone, but it might have skewed more to items for kids. Prices were higher than I've seen at other places, but this is more of a mom and pop type shop so I'm glad to pay it. After you pick out your pieces you are given a tiny pallette for your colors and you have to write down your color choices for the worker to dole out your paint to you. I didn't love this. I can see how this is helpful from kids using too much paint or making a mess. but with three adults it was a bit annoying to have to keep asking for more paint refills. We weren't given any direction on what to do. Two of us had done this before but one of us hadn't so we had to be the one to tell him to wipe the dust off your piece, make sure to do three coats, etc. When we got our finished pieces back, I was a little surprised that the entire piece wasn't glazed. I'm used to every side being glazed including the bottom. One of us painted a turtle and he left part of the face blank, and that part didn't get glazed which was pretty weird.

She is willing to lower the price if you choose to iron the table linens yourself. She was very considerate and let me choose more add on rentals the day before the event! Barbara has such a wide selection of vases, different colored table cloths, drapes, ceiling fabric, manzanita branches, large white columns , throne chairs, garden chairs, plates, chafers, silverware, anything you can possible think of! When my engagement party came up I immediately went to her because I knew I would get the best quality, clean table linens at an affordable price! My second time renting from her , and I was very pleased. Her table clothes are thick and high quality, not like from other rental companies. My bridesmaids used her for my bridal shower decor. I will definitely be using her for chair rentals for my wedding and for any of my wedding needs. I know she also offers full service wedding decor and tear down!(:

The staff here are efficient and professional at their jobs and never encountered an issue with anyone here. There was even a time my boyfriend and I were watching a movie and suddenly the movie cut off due to an alarm and they ensured everyone got out okay then they allowed us to return back, once it was all cleared, to finish the movie. Though there was a few times the popcorn tasted burnt but those times have been counted on one hand. The drinks never tasted bad here which is a great sign as I have been to other theaters that have the fountain drink machines that have a bunch of options but it doesn't taste good. The seats here are more comfortable and spacious too. The membership here is pretty great too and even if you don't do the paid version, you get a free drink on your birthday which is nice.

She just said, "We can get those tickets purchased here," and she rang me up at the concession stand. The lobby, women's bathrooms, and theater were all pretty clean. And there was a large selection of popcorn buckets (merch) for multiple movies (Moana, Minions & Monsters, Supergirl, and one of two others I can't recall). Really, the only thing that was less than desirable was the popcorn; I think they scraped the bottom of the machine for me, because we got a large popcorn but most of the bucket had tiny pieces. Overall, I love this theater, especially the recliner seats.

The field was small and the strawberries were on the smaller side, but that was expected and similar to other farms we've visited before. The reason I'm writing this review is because of an uncomfortable checkout experience. While we were waiting in line to weigh our strawberries, we noticed the staff member at the scale zeroing out the container for the customers ahead of us so they wouldn't be charged for the basket/box itself. She even explained it out loud, which we thought was considerate. However, when it was our turn, she did not zero out the scale. We didn't say anything at the time and assumed maybe it was an honest mistake. What felt disheartening was that immediately after we paid and stepped aside, she zeroed out the scale again for the customer right behind us. My friends, who are of Hispanic ancestry, felt very uncomfortable and singled out by the interaction. I don't want to accuse anyone of racism or say this was intentional, because I don't know that. But I do think it's worth sharing because these kinds of small differences in treatment can really affect how people feel in a space. Our overall experience was okay, but that checkout interaction left a bad impression.

We visited Duris Strawberry Farm on the first day of strawberry picking (Jun 13, 2026) and it was a…read morecomplete madhouse. This was about 30 minutes after opening and the small parking lot was completely full. Cars were parked haphazardly all along the street, making it difficult for two way traffic (we had to drive on the grass). Luckily as soon as we pulled into the parking lot a car reversed out. Score! Picking is hectic but organized. They give boxes out at the main stall and have a flag system to mark how far down the row has been picked. The problem is that most people didn't actually use the flags. On the other hand, it's not like the rows were picked very well in the first place. We started at a random one in the middle and there were still plenty of huge and juicy ripe strawberries even on the first couple of plants. We ended up filling our entire box, weighing in at 8.25 pounds by around half way down the row. At $4.75 that was almost $40 in strawberries! The employees said that they would rotate to a second field of strawberries later in the day for more fresh picking. The strawberry variety of the day was Puget Crimson. Since this was the first day, the cream of the crop were still available, meaning huge, juicy, flavorful, ripe strawberries all over. Puget Crimson typically seen at farm stands and markets are medium and small size; these were massive, with the larger ones averaging over 35 grams a piece. Nicely sweet too - I measured a mash of five strawberries at 10.9 brix and a second at 12.1 brix! This particular variety has a decent amount of acidity, but are all full flavored, unlike the first pick of Sweet Sunrise I had a couple of weeks ago, which were huge but somewhat watery. They are deep red/crimson in color, especially for the extremely ripe ones, and mostly conical, although we found a small number of mutants, one looking like 4 or 5 strawberries fused together! Check out is easy. Pro-Tip: there are two checkout lines, one on each side of the stall. The line furthest away from the pathway to the strawberry fields seems to always be shorter. In my case, only 3 groups in line instead of 20+ groups. Warning: these strawberries are planted on top of very sandy dirt, which sticks to the strawberries. Even after soaked and scrubbing, dirt still sticks onto the skin! I will definitely be revisiting Duris Strawberry Farm next year for their first day of strawberry picking!

She said they have great produce so we stopped there on the way home along River road and I'm so glad we did. They had big juicy sweet strawberries picked today just like she said. It was a great tip so I'm paying it forward for anyone who is looking for strawberries. It's best to call them before you go since when they run out, they close and we barely made in time after a late lunch. They only had a few half flats of strawberries bu the time we got there. GPS got us there the back way but once we found it, I have to say it's very easy to find.

So fun! My girlfriends and I went for the first time recently and none of us could draw - AT ALL! But the step-by-step instructions and fun atmosphere made the whole experience a really fun one. Bev, the owner and our instructor, did a great job showing us the ropes and trying to get us to relax and not take the painting process so seriously. It was a lot of fun to walk around the class during the process and see everybody's renditions of the object we were painting. Some of the women got a little carried away with the alcohol during the class and got so loud we couldn't hear the instructor sometimes - but I guess that's the risk you take when you decide to serve alcohol. I was so focused on doing my picture that I didn't even really drink most of my wine. But they have a great selection of beverages and I suppose it can help folks loosen up a bit and not be so scared to paint. This studio has really fun decor and the employees are friendly and fun, too. Overall, a really fun time and we will be back! Can't wait! read more

I have been to Arts-n-Carafes 5 times now! I absolutely love it! Bev, the instructor is fabulous! You get a glass of wine (several to choose from) and some yummy snacks that vary from class to class. But the main focus is the painting. You get all your supplies - canvas, paints, brushes, apron, etc - to paint the painting that Bev will walk you thru. It's fail proof! Trust me when I say ANYONE can do this! Mine are all amazing, and have even had people try to buy my paintings and commission me to paint one for them! (ha-ha!) I do NOT consider myself an artist in the slightest! It's a great girl's night or a date night out! She offers specials, so be sure to sign up on her email list and "like" Arts-n-Carafes on Facebook. The variety of paintings is the best in the area by far, as I have tried other businesses like this. I went to Arts-n-Carafes this past weekend with 3 of my friends. We all had such a great time! I was worried how everything was going to play out - I've never done a class like this... or painted anything for that matter! After my glass of wine and some snacks, I was loosened up and ready to paint! I was nervous at first, but you get over that quickly. I loved how we were able to pick what we painted by the day we chose. There are a lot of great paintings hanging up to give you some inspiration as well as a craving to return!! So everyone had their own spin on their painting, although the idea was the same... we did the "Funky Tree". I can't wait to go again! My only con (which does NOT reflect my rating) is my own fault... They offer snacks as well as the wine, but I'm a vegetarian so I didn't have a lot to choose from.. nuts and crackers, etc... But that is definitely not something to complain about because I had an outstanding time! read more

Tons of fun and really satisfying! I am a computer and book geek and I was REALLY unsure about this the very first time we went. I had never painted anything other than a wall before in my life and am not particularly gifted when it comes to creative endeavors; I was certain it would be an epic failure but figured I'd give it a shot! To my surprise (and enjoyment) not only was it a lot of fun, but my painting was actually pretty good! I've since been 3 more times and have tried more 'challenging' paintings and every time had a fantastic evening and come away super impressed with myself! It's a great 'date night' with your partner and a fun 'girls night out', I even have friends from out of town planning to visit so they can go painting too! I met Bev by accident shortly after she opened up. Unfortunately, I've only come in 3 times, but I guess I'm picky about the theme of painting I want to do. There was one time that I "cheated" on Bev and it was not a good experience. That one was a traveling one and was held at a winery. Major downsides, the winery staff was snobby, the instructor was not pleasant, and the lighting was horrible. What you get at Arts-N-Carafes, is a wonderful HOST in HER HOUSE. Bev welcomes you and makes sure that you are comfortable. This past visit, she even asked how the temperature was in the room! What a host! I learned very fast to leave my "perfectionist" trait at home. Come in, try different techniques. Sometimes the "accidents" look cool! This is a very welcoming, clean (amazing for a painting studio) and cozy studio. The set up reminded me of being in Germany at the pubs, where everyone sits near everyone and just starts talking about whatever. If you are shy, don't worry, there's still a private feeling because you have your own little area next to others. It was a wonderful experience. I was a little stressed at first because the lesson seemed to be moving pretty fast, however, I just said, "F it, my painting will come out how it comes out," and I let go. So fun! Plus, my painting actually looks decent. The instructor and server were both very pleasant. The instructor did give "students" one-on-one advice, too, if they asked for it. The instruction was simple and clear. I got a frame and now I have a Christmas present taken care of. woot. read more

I've always wanted to do one of these "wine and painting" parties. I'm so glad that I was finally able to do one...and we were able to do it with this great company. This was so much fun! We decided to have a private event at Urban Timber Coffee & Wine. It was great because we had someone in our party that was under 21...but she was still able to participate because we had it in a coffee shop. From the very beginning, Bev was great to work with. She answered any questions I had very quickly and was so nice about everything. Our artist for the night was Audrey. She was great! So much fun! This business runs like a well oiled machine , designed to make the customer feel comfortable right away. As soon as you walk in, you are given a card with easy to follow instructions about where to put your things, what to do to get set up. how many squirts of paint etc. everything is modeled. You are given your glass of wine and there's a delicious array of snacks. And, they do all the cleanup! It is just for your pure enjoyment! You can't beat it! You walk away with your own artwork it's also such an amazing deal when you think about how expensive painting is as a hobby (good brushes, canvases, paint, easel etc) there's a big variety in the paintings that she teaches its a great social atmosphere --I'm hooked! read more

I used to draw a long, long time ago and wanted to get back into doing artistic things. This is awesome because for a nominal fee (the materials are all included plus a glass of wine!), I can come get instruction and take home something I can hang on my wall. I've been to two classes now and I've been really happy with both paintings. The instructor is lively and encouraging and the assistant keeps your drink full and your brushes clean. You won't be able to walk out of here and have a gallery opening, but you will leave here feeling proud of what you created and with a sense of serentity as you indulge in painting after you finally relax, realizing it's not that hard. I cannot praise Arts N Carafes enough! Bev hosted an excellent beginners class. She made the painting accessible and EASY, which was perfect for my fiancé and I who were even more basic than beginners. She gave easy, clear, step-by-step instructions so that by the end of class we were able to walk away with a beautiful piece of art that neither of us ever thought we would be able to make! Arts-N-Carafes is a great activity to do with friends or even alone after a long week at work as a way to relax and let the creative juices flow! I first went by myself since there was a painting I wanted to do that my friends weren't interested in and then I went back with a group of ladies as a surprise birthday gift for one of them. We had a blast. It's central location to downtown Renton makes is a great evening out for dinner and fun! No, and I mean NO experience required. I've gone several times now with friends, and on my own, and have always had a great time. I love watching everyone paint and it's fun to interact with all the other participants. I love seeing how differently we can all paint the same picture, and it all comes out in the end. It's a fun way to spend an evening -- an activity with wine and snacks and you get to bring a piece of art home! And in spite of your level of artistic ability, you'll end up coming home with art. I would highly recommend Arts-n-Carafes classes to anyone who finds joy in painting or being creative. While I miss the studio where the classes used to be held, the various locations where classes are held, in my experience, offers more convenience. Even though I am severely out of practice, I have not come home with a piece that I dislike! I went to Arts-n-Carafes as a skeptic - I am not a painter and a long time ago took at painting class and have never even looked at the project again. I was amazed at how easy it was and by taking the time to break things down step by step I was able to paint something that I have actually hung in my living room! Love Arts-n-Carafes. I have done two of the paintings so far and have enjoyed being able to paint in a fun environment. Bev is a great instructor giving step-by-step instructions and easy tips to achieve your own vision if you would like. Bev is an amazing teacher- I have no artistic experience and all my paintings turn out great! What a wonderful concept. I went by myself wanting to accomplish 2 things... have fun AND socialize. I did it at Arts-n-Carafes. I spent 2 hours creating a painting with my own hands all the while chit chatting and having fun with other women. (No men at this session). Love this place! I have done it three times now with different friends and have enjoyed it each time! I cannot draw a decent stick figure so to see three paintings on my walls at home that I have painted, still amazes me! Bev is so friendly and welcoming as is Cathy that helps her out during the evening. Nice music, light appetizers and a great atmosphere. Great for a girls night out! read more

OMG. This is the best place for releasing your pent up creativity. Always wanted to take a painting class but couldn't commit to regular scheduled. NOW I can go when I feel the creative juices and take my gal pals (or my brother, or my hubby) and we can get our paint on!.... This was enough time for her to finish a little dish and I completed a mini bowl. The owners are super sweet and walk you through the entire creative process. It's very organized and sanitary. They have everyone wash up before, choose their clay, and even pour the paints for you. Lots of people were coming in to pick up their creations. It takes about a week to finalize and you come back and pick up the final piece. Totally recommend for a fun date night or a cute get together. Located in Kent. Street parking available. No reservation needed.

This place is such a great date or friend group/duo idea!…read more My bestie and I first got here on a Saturday afternoon at almost 3pm not knowing how busy it would be inside, how long we would take making our stuff and how much fun we would had even though it didn't feel at all like it. When you get inside, you'll see a whole bunch of unpainted ceramics on the left-hand side of the wall consisting of many different things like cups, plates and figures among many other choices. You choose one and staff will seat you given it isn't a full house. They were also very informative in explaining their process and the ways of making your paint stand out when your ceramic gets glazed. The paints themselves are neatly organized in the back middle of the place, and there's a bunch of small resources like pencils, washable markers and color palette sheets to help you. Bestie and I took maybe 3 or so hours painting our stuff on our cups, and most people here did spend about as long as we did before finishing up as well, so I'd leave a lot of time if you plan on coming here. There is a cost on both the type of ceramic you use and the materials you use on it, and they notify you via text when your ceramic is glazed and ready. We were quoted a week but it took about 4 days for us to be able to pick them up, in which you provide your name to receive your final product. Overall, the process was seamless for both of us, and we had a really good time showing off our creative side here.

Before leaving the facility, I let the owner know that we were traveling from out of town and wouldnt be able to return in a week to pick up our pieces. Made arrangements to have it shipped and paid the fee. Even gave the dude $40 cash tip. Fast forward... I have made 3 calls since. Left a message the 1st time, go no call back. Called for the 2nd time, spoke to the owner & texted him the information he requested. Followed up with a text and a 3rd call - owner said he was just getting to the shop and he would call or text me with a tracking number. Guess what?? NO CALL BACK. Dont waste your money on this bunk ass shop in the middle of nowhere. Take your business elsewhere where they will appreciate you and have more professionalism. Customer service at its worst, here.
