    So excited to paint these!

My wife and I decided to come here for our anniversary. We arrived just as they first opened on a Sunday and were greeted by the lovely young lady that was working. She guided us on how to get started without hovering and she was consistent on checking in throughout the entire process. This is a great experience for all ages and it challenges you to be artistic in your own way. They offer beverages in the studio and you can eat while you paint if you choose to grab some food from the food court area upstairs.

Had an amazing time here painting pottery with my husband. We arrived 1 hour before they were closing and stayed there for 55 minutes, but we didn't feel rushed at all. Basically you walk in, look around at their pottery selection and pick what you want to paint. Once we did that we picked a table and the person working gave us a run down of how the entire process works since it was our first time there. She was very helpful and friendly, but let us do our own thing after she was done talking with us. The music and ambiance here was really calming and nice. I noticed they have snacks for sale as well. Once we finished we paid and we were told to come back in 1 week to pick up our creations. I definitely recommend coming here. There is stuff for all ages too and it's very family friendly. I'll have to update with a picture of the final product once I pick up!

I found the Painting Panda in November 2022 when looking for a local pottery painting shop. It has since become my favorite spot to spend a weekend afternoon, bring my friends, or have date night. The studio is super cute and tucked in a convenient location inside the antique mall. It's close to the exit, has lots of parking, and had neighboring shops and restaurants that I can pop over to. There are snacks available at the studio for purchase and the owner is also okay with you bringing outside drinks. The shop is well lit and has ample seating as well as room to pop up extra tables right outside the studio but still inside the antique mall. The music is at the perfect level and the decor looks homemade and isn't distracting. There is an entire separated area for the unpainted pottery to select from and the selection is impressive. There are some consistently available favorites, but the general options are constantly rotating. Every few weeks, there's a nearly new selection of pottery. The prices and sizes vary greatly, so there's options for everyone! There are small pieces that cost as little as $3 and some large ones that take many hours to paint and cost $45+ (plus you can work on pottery and have it on hold to come back and continue painting at a later date). I absolutely love visiting though because the owner Noelle is super friendly and knows how to make everyone feel like they belong. I have seen the owner remember multiple people by face and recall their names. My first time visiting, I was quiet and in the zone painting for hours without interacting much and yet when I returned, she could recall which pieces I had painted and my name immediately. Noelle treats everyone this kindly and makes them to feel special. The rest of the staff that she hires are all friendly and fit right into energy level inside the studio.

I absolutely love this place. If I could give a higher review I would. I've been about 5 times now and each time is better than the last. The employees are always so kind, welcoming and helpful. I've brought any and every friend I possibly can here and each time we have such a blast. I've included some pics of my creations, one before firing and the rest after. I've never had a peice come out weird or bad as I've taken the instructions of the studio very seriously. I've never had a peice damaged after firing. When I pick up my creations their always expertly wrapped with bubble wrap and protective paper. The music they play in the studio is always at a nice quiet volume so you can still hear it but doesn't overwhelm the senses. Always a calm quiet environment to come spend a few hours with friends or loved ones. Their selection of instruments to help with the art is astounding as well. Multiple trays of stencils and stamps. Toothpicks and paint pens for intricate work, as well as all kinds of different brushes and other tools. I can't stress enough how much I love coming here. I'd be here everyday if I could afford it.

I love this place. The owners are lovely, kind people, and the studio is open and has a really good vibe. Everyone's happy and relaxed and kind, there are a million different things to paint, and the prices are super reasonable. I've been back half a dozen times already- there are great gifts year round, it's very kid and painting party friendly! Perfect for any skill level.

I painted a dip platter and my mom painted an egg platter!

My mom and I came here and it was a super fun experience! The owners are very friendly and helpful and they have a good variety of items to choose from. I highly recommend and I know we'll definitely be back! Super excited to see the final product when we pick them up!

You can immediately tell that the owner puts extra care and intention into everything she offers. I had the chance to talk with her about some of the pieces and materials, and I really appreciated that many of the options are local -- always a big plus in my book. One detail that really stood out to me (and that I learned sets this studio apart from others in the area) is that she also finishes the bottoms of the pieces. That extra attention ensures everything fires properly in the kiln and helps the pieces last longer. It's such a thoughtful touch that shows how much pride she takes in her work. I also loved that all services are included in the pricing, so there are no surprise fees later on. That alone made the experience feel relaxed and stress-free. The selection is fantastic -- from small knickknacks to decorative wall pieces, to dishes like plates and mugs. I genuinely think anyone could find something here that fits their style. And best of all, you're not rushed at all. You could honestly spend the whole day there and no one would mind. While we were there, another woman came in with pottery she hadn't finished from a previous session. She set up with her tablet and headphones and worked quietly for a couple of hours -- it was really cool to see that flexibility. If you don't finish in one visit, you can pack up and come back later, which I love. Turnaround time was also impressive. From when we submitted our pieces to when we got them back, it was only about a week or two at most -- much quicker than I expected. And the results were beautiful. I'm so happy with how everything turned out and can't wait to come back again for another occasion. Highly recommend this studio to anyone looking for a creative, welcoming, and thoughtfully run experience.

Here is what happened: One of the first interview questions that was asked was around kicking people out that didnt agree with their political opinions. Next, the white women discussed blood/moon rituals, and was scolded by the other owner to stop. It was unprofessional and did not highlight their dynamic in a positive light. I was then asked to teach someone who had never thrown before, the owner, which I wasnt Informed of, or I would have prepared. The expectation to teach a surprise lesson was incredibly inequitable and a horrible interview practice. The fact that she didnt know how to pull was shocking, as this is a basic technique in ceramics. She didnt inform me that this was a skill she needed to be taught. Unfortunately, all the owners now how to do is turn a kiln off and on. Everyone who purchases a peice is lucky that the glazes stick. I went home feeling pretty terrible about the experience. When I called to ask about the status of the position I was told that they chose someone with more experience and a degree. Y'all i have a masters degree in ceramics and have taught high school ceramics for 10 years. Linda then admitted she didnt really know why they went with another canidate and offered a sales position which i declined. Overall incredibly disrespectful, inequitable, and unprofessional.

Debit cards are not accepted -- there are no signs indicating this. Only annoyance when you try to pay with a card. I asked my kids to leave their projects there so we could go get cash. The owner didn't seem to think that was enough. Since they were done she wanted assurance I would return so she didn't lose money. She wanted me to leave my kids there! When I said no, she was not pleased. I don't leave my kids with many people, especially NOT strangers! I offered to let her see my license so she could have my address. I had every intention of returning, my kids wanted their projects. I ended up leaving a debit card there since I have 2 and went to get cash with the other. Admittedly when I returned I didn't say but 2 words to her. I was upset that my integrity had been questioned and she wanted to keep my kids. What mom would go out of her way to give her children an experience and then not return to pick up their work? This is one place we will not return to and will tell anyone we know to avoid.

So we celebrated 5 birthdays, 12 of us came to paint ceramics, we brought snacks, and drinks. If you didn't have any snacks, this place has snacks and candy you can purchase. Since we were a large group we took the upstairs level. Not easy for people with knee problems, but we managed. So we set up our snacks, Italian sodas, and birthday cake, then we went downstairs to choose what we wanted to paint. Items range anywhere from 20.00 and up. One of the birthday girls had to bring her granddaughter and she had a blast. Another young gal took her newborn and carried him in a pouch while she painted. Staff was very helpful. We had a color chart to choose our colors, we told them what we wanted and they brought to us and replenished paint when needed. Each station had water, sponges, brushes, lazy Susan, and a tray for your paint. We held the space for two hours. Perfect timing because they closed at 5pm on Sunday. They will glaze our projects, and next week one of us will pick it up and bring to everyone. Now we want to go back and take a pottery class. Everything is so affordable including the classes. So glad this one exists, because the one we used to go to in Auburn to pain canvas closed down permanently. I posted a photo of the wall of ceramics to choose from. After you pick out your pieces you are given a tiny pallette for your colors and you have to write down your color choices for the worker to dole out your paint to you. I didn't love this. I can see how this is helpful from kids using too much paint or making a mess. but with three adults it was a bit annoying to have to keep asking for more paint refills. We weren't given any direction on what to do. Two of us had done this before but one of us hadn't so we had to be the one to tell him to wipe the dust off your piece, make sure to do three coats, etc. When we got our finished pieces back, I was a little surprised that the entire piece wasn't glazed. I'm used to every side being glazed including the bottom. One of us painted a turtle and he left part of the face blank, and that part didn't get glazed which was pretty weird.
