Here is what happened: One of the first interview questions that was asked was around kicking people out that didnt agree with their political opinions. Next, the white women discussed blood/moon rituals, and was scolded by the other owner to stop. It was unprofessional and did not highlight their dynamic in a positive light. I was then asked to teach someone who had never thrown before, the owner, which I wasnt Informed of, or I would have prepared. The expectation to teach a surprise lesson was incredibly inequitable and a horrible interview practice. The fact that she didnt know how to pull was shocking, as this is a basic technique in ceramics. She didnt inform me that this was a skill she needed to be taught. Unfortunately, all the owners now how to do is turn a kiln off and on. Everyone who purchases a peice is lucky that the glazes stick. I went home feeling pretty terrible about the experience. When I called to ask about the status of the position I was told that they chose someone with more experience and a degree. Y'all i have a masters degree in ceramics and have taught high school ceramics for 10 years. Linda then admitted she didnt really know why they went with another canidate and offered a sales position which i declined. Overall incredibly disrespectful, inequitable, and unprofessional.

They were pleasant enough while the kids worked on their projects, and very engaging with the kids. 2 of the staff members were great with the kids. When it came time to pay ... Debit cards are not accepted -- there are no signs indicating this. Only annoyance when you try to pay with a card. I asked my kids to leave their projects there so we could go get cash. The owner didn't seem to think that was enough. Since they were done she wanted assurance I would return so she didn't lose money. She wanted me to leave my kids there! When I said no, she was not pleased. I don't leave my kids with many people, especially NOT strangers! I offered to let her see my license so she could have my address. I had every intention of returning, my kids wanted their projects. I ended up leaving a debit card there since I have 2 and went to get cash with the other. Admittedly when I returned I didn't say but 2 words to her. I was upset that my integrity had been questioned and she wanted to keep my kids. What mom would go out of her way to give her children an experience and then not return to pick up their work? This is one place we will not return to and will tell anyone we know to avoid.

This was enough time for her to finish a little dish and I completed a mini bowl. The owners are super sweet and walk you through the entire creative process. It's very organized and sanitary. They have everyone wash up before, choose their clay, and even pour the paints for you. Lots of people were coming in to pick up their creations. It takes about a week to finalize and you come back and pick up the final piece. Totally recommend for a fun date night or a cute get together. Located in Kent. Street parking available. The staff was friendly and helped us understand the process of picking out a piece and painting it. There are also instructions on the wall on the steps you need to take to decorate your piece and there are labels everywhere to make sure you know what you're doing. When you first walk in, you pick a piece of pottery out to decorate/paint. There are a ton of items to select from including bowls, mugs figurines, and plates. I picked a little bowl to paint and pulled up my Pinterest board for inspiration. I went to go pick out my colors and they all had swatches on them with 1-3 coats of paint to show you how it looks when fired. They also have precision tip paint bottles (in the same selection as the regular paint) for little details and stamps. They provide you with assortment of paint brushes, decorated pieces for inspiration and different foam applicators for ombre looks. They also give you ceramic palettes and a water mug to clean off your paintbrushes. After you're done with decorating, you clean up your items and put them in the correct compartments for the staff to wash. Then you pay and they tell you when you can pick it up (usually within a week). There was only one staff member when we were there, but she was super helpful and kind. As we left around 6 PM on Friday, it got very busy.

The site also stated they do not need to inform the customer , "as my policies page covers substitutions" she stated. I don't have an issue with charcoal but I certainly would not purposely lay in a bath of it. I believe in honesty and the site is aware the product sent was incorrect but believes I am a liar and refused to refund my money. My last email from the site stated "But really I would never be in your position because I don't believe any of this happened, and you can't show evidence to the contrary, so you weren't in that position either. I genuinely hope you get help for...whatever has gone on in your life that has led you to this conversation." Nice customer service! I have never posted a bad review but I did today and to the BBB.

They have an array of bath bombs, wonderful lip balms, moisturizing soaps, and room scents. You could spend all day in here especially with the classes offered. I am grateful to have taken a informative and thorough class. It gave me a lot of generous options in how to make soap and what I can use and make in small batches. The teacher was so encouraging, and greatly took time and consideration in answering questions and offering the best feedback. She has a genuine love for her artisanal work and it mirrors in the way she treats her students. Thank you for such a wonderful representation of small businesses in Tacoma. I came in not knowing what to expect and leaving quite loved. Oh yeah, she shares a store with a vintage clothing store. It is so cool!

So we celebrated 5 birthdays, 12 of us came to paint ceramics, we brought snacks, and drinks. If you didn't have any snacks, this place has snacks and candy you can purchase. Since we were a large group we took the upstairs level. Not easy for people with knee problems, but we managed. So we set up our snacks, Italian sodas, and birthday cake, then we went downstairs to choose what we wanted to paint. Items range anywhere from 20.00 and up. One of the birthday girls had to bring her granddaughter and she had a blast. Another young gal took her newborn and carried him in a pouch while she painted. Staff was very helpful. We had a color chart to choose our colors, we told them what we wanted and they brought to us and replenished paint when needed. Each station had water, sponges, brushes, lazy Susan, and a tray for your paint. We held the space for two hours. Perfect timing because they closed at 5pm on Sunday. They will glaze our projects, and next week one of us will pick it up and bring to everyone. Now we want to go back and take a pottery class. Everything is so affordable including the classes. I've been to a few paint your own pottery places and had recently seen this place so decided to…read morestep in a whim with two people. Make sure you wear layers, it was FREEZING inside. I'm used to more of a selection of pottery to paint, but there were still definitely something for everyone, but it might have skewed more to items for kids. Prices were higher than I've seen at other places, but this is more of a mom and pop type shop so I'm glad to pay it. After you pick out your pieces you are given a tiny pallette for your colors and you have to write down your color choices for the worker to dole out your paint to you. I didn't love this. I can see how this is helpful from kids using too much paint or making a mess. but with three adults it was a bit annoying to have to keep asking for more paint refills. We weren't given any direction on what to do. Two of us had done this before but one of us hadn't so we had to be the one to tell him to wipe the dust off your piece, make sure to do three coats, etc. When we got our finished pieces back, I was a little surprised that the entire piece wasn't glazed. I'm used to every side being glazed including the bottom. One of us painted a turtle and he left part of the face blank, and that part didn't get glazed which was pretty weird.
