I heard good things about Art's and finally got a chance to come in for a pie while I was in town visiting my sister. What a colossal disappointment. We ordered one of their Round the World pizza and, wow, I don't even know where to begin. The mushrooms must have come from a can. They were limp, soggy, and disgusting. The pepperoni were the kind of greasy, flavorless disks you'd expect to buy in bulk at Sam's Club, and the "sausage" looked (and smelled) more like Alpo than Italian sausage. The green peppers were OK, so I guess that's something. Maybe they had a bad night, but I doubt it. This place serves pies with all the care, passion, and attention to detail you'd expect to find at a Little Caesar's...or perhaps a gas station. Just gross. read more

In the mood for Arts pizza this afternoon - ordered the extra large combination - the crust was thin and weak fork required - slightly burnt - breadsticks had little flavor directly from grocery store and heated up - not impressed for 30 bucks! Should have stuck with roast beef instead.... Scott I have been eating Arts before you were born - need to time travel you back to get an Arts thirty years ago! Best Pizza In Anderson Art's has the best pizza in town. Their cheese pizza is the best cheese pizza I have had outside New York City. (You can't beat NYC for cheese pizza.) Their lunch buffet is a real bargain, drink is included in price. Wait staff is friendly. Highly recommended. When Mom was in Florida I would take a combination pizza that I had frozen and we'd share it. read more

Not sure what happened but I will try again one day soon. Last evening I place a take out order via phone. Paid for it with my card ( which cleared). Then to my surprise, my ordered was cancelled by the restaurant. The place on Scatterfield. My money was placed back on my card with no reason or explanation. My wife and I got an Art's pizza for the first time yesterday and boy have we been missing out. We ordered the "around the world" for takeout and it was fantastic. Crust and sausage remind me of pizza king a little. Definitely recommend this place! read more

Went to Portillo's yesterday and had their italian beef. It paled in comparison to Art's. I probably have not been their for 30 years but I grew up eating them and I'm in my 60's now. I considered their sandwich the standard to judge others and few compare. read more

Since moving to Anderson, I think the pizza situation has been the hardest to handle. For some reason, decent delivery just isn't in the cards. As it happens, Art's makes a fantastic pizza! The sauce is delicious, the cheese blend is on-point, and the service is Indiana-style friendly. Not only that, but they make a pretty good Italian Beef sandwich too! For someone with Chicago roots, that was a great find! Now if only they would hire some delivery drivers. read more

First time for art's Pizza. My man, son and I came here for lunch and all got the buffet. I love any kind of bread and Art's pizza crust was very good. Not greasy at all and a lil thicker, which is my favorite. Pizza was good. The reason I gave only three stars is because the buffet barely had any pizza on it and the place was busy. Should have been stocked for guest. And they only had one waitress so of corse drinks were not refilled actually we were almost done eating before we got first drink. Waitress was very friendly and worked hard she was just outnumbered. So thank you for trying. read more

We've ordered from Art's twice in the last month. The pizza is delicious! They're so generous with their toppings and the marinara is bright and fresh. Our favorite was the bacon pizza. The second time we went we got tenderloin sandwiches and mozzarella sticks. Both were very good for the price! It was like two sandwiches in one, they were so big. We dropped our credit card when we went to pick up the order and the employees were so kind to call us to say they picked it up. And the time before when we ordered they got a pizza wrong and when we called to tell them they ended up giving us a $20 giftcard and the correct pizza for their mistake. Over all, it's a great place! Definitely worth trying. It was much better than we ever expected it to be. read more

Thought I would try the other Art's in Anderson for a gauge of how it stacked up... the Italian Beef was alright not bad but not up to par with the original... you get less meat and the bread was fair. Think I will stick with the original read more

This is by far the best pizza buffet I've had. We went to the lunch buffet and although it was a little pricy (9 dollars but included drink) the pizza was delicious. Every piece was stacked with toppings and tasted like you were eating super fresh home made pizza. Will come again and recommend everyone give it a try. read more

I've only ever eaten one thing here: the Italian roast beef sandwich. It is the most delicious sandwich in the state of Indiana. They slow roast the beef in a tomato based sauce, then serve it with melted cheese and peppers. It is a messy sandwich, but who cares when there's a party in your mouth. I live in Indy and it is well worth the drive to Anderson! read more

A thousand times better than your typical chain. Minimal grease, fresh toppings that they are generous with, yummy REAL cheese, and best of all, the sauce, which I am super picky about, is phenomenal. I haven't ordered from the Hut or Papa since discovering Art's - in comparison, Art's toppings are pricey, but what you get for the price is much higher quality than the cheaper chains. read more

As many times as I've been here, I've only been in the dining room twice. Every time I come here, it's been so welcoming and cozy. The staff there is the nicest group of people you could get. One of the best pizzas in the country! I have been in the food and beverage business for 40 years and rate Art's Pizza as good as Gino's East or Lou Marinetti, which is the best in Chicago for thick crust pizza even though Art's is not a deep dish pie. My family has been buying pizza and roast beef sandwiches since the first Art's opened on Fletcher Ave in 1956. I unfortunately live in Orlando, FL and only get the pizza once or twice a year. When my parents were still alive, they would be bring me an Around the World Pizza, my favorite, frozen so I could still enjoy a taste from home. Always the best! I know I will go against conventional opinion but the roast beef sandwich was less than satisfying. No flavor. I can appreciate others loving the sandwich. The bread was soft and roast beef tender. I am extremely disappointed in Arts Pizza today. I am on a business trip and I call my elderly mother daily to check up on her. She was frustrated this time. She had ordered a hot roast beef sandwich "to go". When she got home, it was a cold sandwich and not good. She didn't eat it. I told her I would call them. I got no where with the manager. He asked me so many questions and even insinuated that maybe my mom did not even come in. We've done business with Arts or years and years. Never did I expect to be treated like this. All I wanted was for them to agree to give a free sandwich the next time she came in. Well, no more business with Arts Pizza. We'll do without. read more

Art's Pizza is a local business, now in its second generation of family ownership. I grew up on their pizzas. This is the real thing...they make their own crust, their own sauce, and season their own sausage, and that's real cheese on that pizza, too. I have allergies to a lot of common food additives, and I can eat this pizza just fine. I especially recommend the lunch buffet if you aren't familiar with their pizzas; you can sample several and enjoy salad and pasta and garlic cheese bread as well. It's very reasonable to eat there, and you get a lot of food for the price. Go in, sit down, and take a deep breath and get ready to enjoy your food. read more

Amazing! We started with the garlic cheese bread and it was excellent. Art's marinara sauce is the real star of this appetizer. Our pizza was up next and they did something most places won't do. They split a specialty pizza! We got half buffalo chicken and half Philly cheese steak. I preferred the buffalo and my wife preferred the Philly. This will not be out last trip to Art's. This is some of central Indiana's finest pizza. Please don't miss an opportunity to eat here. read more

Hadn't experienced an Art's roast beef sandwich in quite a while so I decided to see if they have remained the same. Sorry to say that they have considerably less meat than they used to, and the price has risen to $8.35 for one with cheese. Wow, that's expensive. They still remain quite tasty but cost way too much for no more than you now get. read more
