The best grinders. The salads are good. The pizza is ok. But everything else is so amazing. The pasta is also good.

We had a group of 6 and came in on a Saturday evening. The pizza was good - the crust was a bit doughy but the cheese and sauce were good, and the toppings were plentiful. The bread appetizer was good, but a bit of a duplicate of the doughy crust. One of our party who wasn't in a pizza mood ordered a grinder and gave a "meh" review to it. There was a huge private party and we were seated near the door - it kept opening - then loud music and lots of noise - then the private party door closed. It happened ~50 times during our meal, and was a bit disruptive to conversation. In hindsight, I would have found seating away from that door. read more

Let me start by saying that I love Mancino's. The food is always delicious, and as far as taste goes, tonight was not an exception. I waffled between 3 and 4 stars tonight, because while the pizza tastes good, it's not what I ordered. I ordered a build your own 12" sausage, pepperoni and mushroom pizza with extra cheese and 2 garlic sauces for pick up. It was ready when I arrived and the two sauces I added were in the box. I got home and we dug in only to discover that the pizza was missing the sausage. It was definitely a bummer, since we usually get grinders or pasta, and this was our first Mancino's pizza. It won't stop us from coming back, but if I order pizza again, I'll definitely be peeking under the cheese before I leave. read more

100 % SALT. They use the CHEAPEST lunch meat they can buy!! The cheese on my grinder was minimal and 100% salt and rubbery. If I wanted to eat salt I could do so out is a salt shaker! Even the god awful dressing was pure salt!!!!!!! read more

I eat here a couple of times a week. Love the buy 2 combo deal. The pizza is good. Soups. The cheesy garlic bread is phenomenal. The salad with the candied nuts is amazing, too, just wish it was romaine or mixed greens instead of head lettuce. Ambiance is nothing special. You order at the counter and they bring you your food. I have been going to Mancino's pizza since I was a young kid. Mancino's has always been a very big part of our town. There are many things that I do like on the menu, with the majority of them being the grinders and the breadsticks. The pizza is good, but it is not as good as it used to be. When I was younger they have many different options to choose from when it comes to pizzas and grinders. I have tried most of the grinders on the menu, and I can say they are very good. The breadsticks are one of my favorite things to order because they are different than most other pizza restaurants. They are very light and fluffy and they spicy cheese sauce is the best part. As far as grinders go, one of my absolute favorites is the club grinder. The price is about average for the amount of food you get. One of the downfalls I have recently found about this restaurant is the chicken Alfredo. My family and I used to order this very frequently because it was very good. Recently, however, it has changed and is no longer good. As far as recommendations, go, if you've never tried Mancino's, I would recommend giving it a try. It is a little different from other pizza chains. As for me, I will definitely go back for more grinders and for the breadsticks with the spicy cheese sauce. read more

I was bombarded with rave reviews from my sister and her husband and since I only go to New Castle (. my hometown) and a great while I always go to another pizza place with phenomenal pizza I thought I would try something different this time. The breadsticks were delicious but didn't come with any sauce or cheese to dip it in even though I pacifically asked for it and thought I had paid for it? The Grinder I got was cold and little too no toppings and it was just awful!!! The pizza just plain suck! Papa John wanna be at best! Needless to say I am never going back! This is a local pizza and grinder joint that's full of area sports and HS memorabilia. I think they only hire high school kids, which is a good thing. This place is amazing! We have ordered pizza and Cheesy bread from them and it was Fantastic. Pizza was cooked perfectly top layer of cheese on both the bread and pizza was a nice golden brown the crust on the pizza wasn't to over or under cooked and the crust on the bread was crunchy around the edges and soft in the middle TASTY! The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The delivery driver was kind and speedy. Pizza was still Hot the Cheesy bread was melted back together so we had to slice it again, But Who Wouldn't Like That. This place is our new favorite! I highly recommend it. Very unfriendly service. Employees acted like they were very unhappy that we walked up to the counter to order.

Seems like the staff is not cooking orders, in order. Folks that ordered right after me, received their pizza 20 minutes before me. Folks that ordered right before me completely finished and left before we even got food. When I checked on the status, I did not get any sense of urgency from the staff or even a verbal apology, and it was NOT busy. There were several take out orders during our wait but they also appeared well staffed. The pizza would have to be the best I have ever had in my life to wait 40+ minutes for a 12" regular crust pizza. It's good ... just not worth the wait or lack of emotional intelligence demonstrated by staff for delivering pizza to folks that ordered at the counter after I did. I was born and bred in ole New Castle, so lots of the restaurants hold special places in my heart. For example, I went to Mancino's on Valentine's Day with my first boyfriend. This was my job in high school. I overcame my fear of hot ovens by working here! There are a lot of monumental occasions from my adolescent period that happened in this restaurant in a small strip mall in a small town. That being said, Mancino's is what it is. It's a pizza/sandwich/pasta place and they don't try to be anything they aren't. You're not going here for fine dining or to be wow'ed by presentation or service. You're going to get some decently made food. Some people aren't in to that, and that's cool. I think that Mancino's could improve, yes. I think that their prices are a bit high for what you receive, and I think that some things could be updated such as decor and the menu. If you go though, I highly suggest ordering the veggie grinder sans black olives. If you're feeling pizza instead, you can't go wrong with the Pride pizza. It's basically a supreme pizza with a fancy name. Top it off with an order of cheesy breadsticks or garlic cheese bread.... and end with a chocolate chip cookie. *Bonus Ex-Worker tip** Ask one of the employees to unwrap the cookie and half-bake it in the oven so it's really gooey and warm. Another less than optimal experience this evening, not by the quality of the food but the choice of the staff. We arrived at 1940 hours and after waiting 5 minutes while one employee took an order by phone, we were advised they had closed the dining area and so wouldn't be able to take our order. After noting the fact they close at 2000, I asked why closing the dining area early they were unable to take a carryout order. After consulting with his boss, he came back to take our order. We had pizza delivered tonight. It came all stuck to the top of the box and all that was left in the box was crust and sauce. We had waited for almost 2 hours for this delivery and when we called and asked for a replacement they told us we could have 10% off our next order and that was all they could do. When we asked for a replacement again, they told us we would have to wait 2 hours to get it. So, only just realized this place is a chain. Credit to them, I suppose, that it always felt like something local to me. A friend of mine who collected swords in high school had his birthday party here once and some people held a fake duel, re-enacting scenes from the Princess Bride. His swords, however, were not rapiers like in the Princess Bride and were actually a little too heavy to toss easily from left hand to right hand while saying, "I am not left-handed" or "I am not left-handed either". Oh, uh...spoiler alert. Sorry about that. Whatever you do don't put the iocane powder on your pizza unless if you've been slowly building an immunity to it over the past few years. I LOVE Mancinos, there aren't many left but the ones that are left are very good. This one has that nice small town feel to it, food was GREAT & service was good as well....I mean heck they even bring you your food to the table. LOVE the kitchen set up, it's all up front and open so you can actually see them making your food. All around a great place & pricing isn't that bad, I mean u will spend the same type of money at a Subway & the quality isn't in the same league as Mancinos. Also the Half size grinder is about as long as a Subway Footlong (8 inches) and it was a perfect size lunch. On Saturday September 1st at around 8pm I ordered a large pizza breadsticks and fries. When I picked up my food I asked why three boxes. The manager explained the breadsticks and fries have their own box. I drove twenty minutes back home and when I get there to my surprise I have breadsticks and fries and SOMEONES HALF EATEN MEAL WITH DIRTY UTENSILS AND NAPKINS IN THE BOX!!!. I have the pictures to go with it. I immediately called the restaurant and explained what I had and was delivered an apology. I drove back to the restaurant, another 20 minute drive. When I get there the manager told me it was a workers food by the name of Juda, which is also the name written on the box. I explained I wanted my money back for the time I wasted driving as well as getting to eat cold food waiting on me back home. She said no and offered gift certificates. I explained I would be contacting the owner, I believe its Wayne Shafer. A few days passed since it was a holiday weekend and I called and Shafer was not in so I left a message. No reply, I have left multiple messages and still no reply. This is a disgusting way to treat customers as well as a health code violation which is ironic seeing how they have a health code sign on the front door about no outside food or drinks, but its ok for them to put nasty eaten food with my freshly prepped food. Regardless I didn't want to write this review because it can be detrimental to a business but I waited long enough to get this settled but with no help from the owner it wont happen. To preface this- any other time I've eaten at a Mancino's, the food was delicious. This place was looking pretty run down. I guess the theme of the decor was backwater hick sports & pageants, as there were pageant shots, as well as local sports teams pictures haphazardly placed on the walls. The one tiny TV showed racing, & the video game was a giant monster of a machine offering the highly enjoyable & apparently popular game of virtual fishing. Wow. The employees were taking tomatoes out of the box & slicing them without washing them. My sandwich tasted OK, but it took almost half an hour to get a vegetarian sandwich and a personal pizza made. There were only 2 other couples and about 4 workers in the place, so to toast some bread & cheese & slap some veggies & mayo on it, & take that long seems a bit too much. I worked here for several years in high school, but Mancino's has some great food. It's nothing fancy (fancy doesn't exist in NC). It offers a small town atmosphere and a large, semi-creative menu with pizzas, sandwiches, salads etc. Great place to bring kids and loud families. They have two large party rooms too! read more

I would gladly give this restaurant 4 stars had I reviewed it a year ago. Recently the food quality and specials have went downhill. They have never had very friendly staff but they weren't rude. They were just always kind of Meh were here doing a job we hate but we will make sure you get your food. I can accept that.
