    Dessert pizza

Went to this place on a whim. Decided to get unique items. Went with the garlic pepperoni bread - delicious, loved the crispy pieces and just greasy enough. Got a spaghetti and meatball pizza - absolutely delicious. Definitely should have added parmesan - don't make my mistake. And then got the dessert pizza with cinnamon and brown sugar struesel with icing - also delicious, would highly recommend added baked apples - that should be outrageous! Wild also love to have with a size of ice cream. All in all very impressed and will get again!

This far exceeded all expectations I had for pizza. There were plenty of TVs to watch different if you need something to do for yourself while you're waiting. On food. They have taken out or dine in. This is not a chain restaurant , it is family owned but they have several locations. The waitress was attentive and got our order and drinks quickly. The breadsticks came out very promptly and the pizza followed shortly after. We had breadsticks and a large spinach tomato basil pizza. The combination of flavors was a taste bud explosion! The menu had such a variety, whether you were in the mood for a sandwich or had a picky eater there should be something to accommodate everyone. I can't wait to go back and try some of the different pizzas!

There is a load of pepperoni and sausage under all of that cheese!

Art's has been around since 1956 serving the Anderson community with great pizza. If you have never had Art's and remember Jack's pizza, then you know Art's. Art's isn't a traditional NY style pie, it isn't Chicago deep dish, it isn't Detroit style, and it certainly isn't like the big chains try to pass off as pizza. Arts is unique and doesn't have much competition. I order Art's for delivery when I am hankering for a good slice of pizza and tonight was one of those times. I ordered a small pepperoni and sausage tonight and as usual, it hit the spot! Art's pizza is filling and a small pizza is more then enough for two people. The toppings are piled on and nestled with ooey gooey, melted cheese. All of this is laid out on a bed of yeasty dough. The dough is freshly made every day and they use fresh ingredients. You just can't beat it. Art's pizza can be seen on the more expensive side but if you removed the deals the big chains offer, the cost is similar. It is worth every penny! Take my advice and skip the cheap pizza deals and the 30 minute delivery guarantee. Art's is among the best in town!

In town for work and I wanted to just grab something quick to take to the hotel for dinner. I came across this place and I'm always down for a local pizza place. Easy to read signage greats you on the outside of the building. The website is easy to navigate and super simple to order from. I was able to place my order and select in store pick up in just a few minutes. They also appear to offer curbside carry out service as well. The dining room is large and comfortable. I would not say that the dining room is bright even though the entire front of the building is glass. As I entered the building I could tell that they were setting up for a large dine-in group. They had probably 12 pizzas setup for the group to choose from. They seem to know how to handle a large party. The carry out counter in all the way at the back of the dining room. The team members were friendly and helpful. If you are paying with your card and want to put a tip on it, you have to tell them before they run your card. I ordered a small pizza (12") and an appetizer of mac and cheese bites. The mac and cheese bites have to be homemade. They are cubes of delicately battered cheesy gooey noodle goodness! Get them! You won't be disappointed! The pizza is a thinner crust, not super crispy though. It's cut into strips, which I find fun and interesting. The topping are fresh and delicious! I will note that the sausage actually tastes like sausage. So if you're expecting the bland meat lumps that many pizza places have, you'll be surprised. But if you're expecting good, well balanced sausage that has a little kick to it, you'll be delighted. If I'm ever back in town for work overnight, I will be stopping here again. In fact, I might just stop in for the heck of it even if work doesn't bring me here! :)

Got off work early and U live an hour away so I decided to find some place to eat before going home. Found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. After searching through the reviews i decided on trying the Roast Beef since was said to be "to die for" by another reviewer. The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice and i ordered the roast beef and i added banana peppers. First i want to say you do have to use the fork and knife provided because it is soaked in the broth sauce........ But that's a good thing I am surprised i did not make a mess because i could not get it in my mouth fast enough. Both the green peppers and banana peppers are very strong/potent in flavor which again was good. There where strong the way if you have ever bought fresh organic peppers and how they have a stronger flavor naturally which tells me they use great ingredients. Roast beef was high grade as well and for the price it is a rather large sandwich. It definitely makes it into the top 3 roast beef sandwiches I have ever had and the best one from a restaurant. So good I will have to come back to try their pizza.

    Decent salad with Ken's dressing.

It is worth the drive!!! All pastas are made fresh. The staff was so friendly and accommodating! They have a piano player as well...what a treat! I sat in the back corner and took it all in! The food was outstanding, I ordered Linguine Frutti di Mare- homemade linguine ( delicious) served with clams, mussels, scallops? Shrimp, cherry tomatoes, evoo, garluc, parsley cooked in a white wine sauce!!! As you can see I absolutely hated it... lol! I has an expression and lava cake for dessert. The lava cake was a little overcooked- that is the only complaint.... Other than the lady sitting across the table from me that talked loud enough for the whole restaurant to hear her conversation. I wish people would be more observant and realize they don't have to talk so loud when they're sitting at their table it made it difficult to hear the piano player and it went from a relaxing stress free feeling to an annoyance. I was so happy when her food arrived. This place is very special. It's very small. I got in because it was very early in the evening. I believe their doors open at 5 o'clock. I would highly recommend reservations, but if you have a special occasion that you're celebrating, and it appeared that several people did this is worth the drive!

The experience comes with either rigatoni or Alfredo noodles with Guanciale. The noodles and sauce were good but the pork cheek was not for us. 1/2 of the bites were pure fat. The rest of the meal was outstanding including the calamari/shrimp appetizer, Caesar salad, and the caprese salad. We already talked about going back to try other main courses. They had 3 options for nonalcoholic mocktails/drinks so that would be an improvement they could make especially for the non drinkers that would still like a NA wine pairing with a nice Italian dinner. You can bring your own with a $15 corking fee. The ambience was relaxing and romantic. They had orchestral music of popular songs so it was fun guessing what songs they were. There was a piano in the center of the restaurant and the mood lighting made the place seem even more cozy.

A true Italian gem in Fortville!…read more I went to Cortona's Italian Cuisine & Wine Bar for my birthday, and what an amazing experience! From the outside, you would never expect to find a place like this along Fortville's main street. But once you walk in, you feel like you've been transported somewhere completely different. Cortona's is an original, family-owned Italian restaurant, and you can really feel the passion and authenticity behind it. One of the coolest things I've ever seen at a restaurant is their chef preparing pasta right in front of you and finishing it inside a giant wheel of cheese. It's such a unique experience and something you don't see every day! The wine was fantastic. We had a bottle of Syrah Castagnino, which was excellent. I had the Pasta al Fumo with Italian sausage, based on Laura's recommendation, and it was absolutely delicious. Laura was wonderful from beginning to end. She knows the menu, makes great recommendations, and knows exactly how to pair the right wine with your meal. The fresh bread was also amazing, and we finished the meal with dessert that was just as impressive as everything else. The portions were very good, and the cozy ambiance made the whole evening feel special. After dinner, we went to the back section of the restaurant, where they've expanded the building and now have space for private events. It's a beautiful addition and gives the restaurant even more character. If you're looking for an authentic Italian experience, great food, amazing wine, and a cozy atmosphere, give yourself a good treat and visit Cortona's. Ask for Laura--she'll take great care of you, help you choose some fantastic dishes, and recommend the perfect wine to pair with your meal. Definitely one of those places where you walk in expecting one thing and leave feeling like you've discovered a little piece of Italy in Fortville.

It was hopping on a Friday night. I had been wanting to come here for a long time.. Everyone I know says this place is really good. This is a 3.5 star review. The bruschetta was 4 pieces and soggy. It was also 15 dollars. They don't serve table bread for free so I ordered some for $4 and it was about 5 1/2 slices of the same bread they used for the bruschetta. It was served with a bowl of oil with balsamic vinegar. I also asked for my pasta to be saucy and the waitress looked at me and she said, do you mean you want extra sauce? So for $2 extra I feel I got a normal amount of sauce so I'm not sure what a regular amount looks like. Unfortunately the pasta was pre-denté. Everyone else's dishes were steaming hot and the pasta was visibly able to be twirled around a fork. Mine was warm and I had to cut it with a spoon and fork just to get it separated for many bites, which were very chewy, almost hard. The ragù was fine. The atmosphere was nice for dinner. I read some other reviews and they are definitely mixed. One of my friends who had been before warned me after I was excited to initially try the cheese wheel pasta, to be careful. She said hers was wet and vodka flavored, so I didn't get it. Similar reviews said the same. I will say the calamari was some of the best I've had lately. Not chewy at all and a lovely light batter, served with tomato sauce. I did find it odd that the sauce was cold. Everyone else seemed to really enjoy their meals so this gets the 3.5 stars.

It's not much to look at from the outside - in small strip mall off Fall Creek about 2 miles north of 96th, but the inside is both luxe and comfortably cozy. At just 12 tables, you get your table for the night, so there is no rush and your evening can be as long as you want to make it. They also have a gorgeous little side wine room that you can rent for parties of 6-8 for dinner. And there's a little bar area that seats maybe 4-6. We had reservations for 6pm, so there were only 2 or 3 other tables occupied when we got there, but they filled throughout the night (& we left close to 8pm). Our server Shaunda was delightful, and the owner Dan came around and checked on all the tables a few times as well. We were presented with a cous cous amuse bouche, a nice refreshing bite to start the evening. Hubs had an Italian Old Fashioned and I asked our server to pair wine for me, so it was a Decoy Sauv Blanc with our first course - the mussels. We asked for extra crostinis in order to soak up more of the delicious sauce they came in. Next was the beet arugula salad, so good! For entrees, hubs had the pappardelle bolognaise and got an iced T, and I had the short ribs with risotto, paired with a glass of cab franc. Dessert was coffee (americano) for each of us, and we split the tiramisu (see all my pics). We ate and enjoyed everything! Total with tax was right at 200 before gratuity. So this is more of a splurge place for us, (of course would be less without the beverages we did) but we will be back. It was a really pleasant evening and another big win for me picking birthday places! #yum #ReviewsByRL
