Always happy to enjoy a discount to wonderful local productions. It allows me to go and enjoy theater more often.

There's limited food/snack options and the drinks are a little pricey, but in all fairness, the prices are on par with other Theaters. If you have balcony seating, there are no elevators so you will have to take the stairs..which are quite numerous ....important to know if you have walking limitations.

The performance was wonderful and the voices of the cast were absolutely beautiful. The theater itself is large and you can see very well. I'm not very tall and even though people were seated in front of me I had a perfect view of the stage. The seats are comfortable and the ushers are very helpful. I believe there are concession stands on every floor as well as bars where you can get soft drinks or alcoholic beverages. The concessions are quite expensive but you expect that when you're at a theater of any kind. Very easy to find parking in the area. There is a large parking structure right next to the Civic Center as well as different parking lots where you can easily just park and walk across the street to the theater. The only rule that I have seen is that you do not bring in a bag that is larger than 12 in by 12 in. You go through a back check and walk through a metal detector but that's pretty common for any type of concert as well. Inside is very comfortable and I always enjoy coming here for a performance.

We then went out to the flight deck where lots of planes are available for you to climb into. But the best was the lower levels of the ship. They have mannequins dressed in various roles and decor so you really can imagine how it was. They also give you an audio device and there are places here and there to click and listen to a short blip about what you are looking at. Really brought it to life. This was my favorite. Price: we bought tickets through the AAA website and saved a few bucks per person if you area a member.

We arrived before they opened to ensure parking (although the parking will be changing in the near future) and got in line. I could go on and on and ON about all the amazing things we saw, experienced and learned, but I will spare you the details and get straight to the point. You can seriously spend an entire day on this ship and not see it all so I strongly suggest you plan your day before arriving. We entered and spent our day going up. DO start your tour by seeing the short film about the Midway (west side of the ship as you enter). It sets the stage for the entire day. *The 3-D interactive experiences are extra, but worth it! *You can eat lunch aboard the ship with tables outdoors over the water. *Wear great walking shoes, you will get your steps in! *There are a lot of stairs and walking, so make sure you're in shape to take it all in And most of all TALK TO THE VOLUNTEERS!!! There are men and women with hats on all over the ship. They served in the military and many actually served UPON the Midway! Their experience, first hand knowledge is invaluable. The cost is worth what you get. Plan an entire day and take as much in as you can!

I purchased Padres tickets through a 3rd party vendor that ended up being from Spectator Tickets. The vendor messed up my order and I unwittingly purchased tickets for the wrong day. I immediately called and was put in touch with Julia at Spectator Tickets. All sales were supposed to be final, but she empathized with my situation and worked tirelessly for hours to find me tickets on the day I wanted, which was today! She not only was able to find me tickets but I did not have to pay any additional charges because she found seats in the same section for the same price for me! Its rare to find companies that will bend over backwards for you these days, even going against "procedure" to make sure that the customer is happy. I'll definitely go out of my way to buy tickets from Spectator Tickets next time I need tickets. I highly recommend that you do too. And their prices were way below face value!

There's a looooot of people, but it was very easy getting in and out of the venue. I didn't care much for panels, so just checked out the exhibit hall for like two hours. I actually think the outside activations around the gaslamp district are waaaay cooler and that doesn't require a badge, but it requires either early RSVP which is hard/competitive/timing is tricky or hours of waiting in line (which I did all of once). But still a cool event! I'd highly recommend coming other days. The energy is very good and it'd probably be easy to make friends here.

"Broadway San Diego 2016-2017 Preview Presentation & VIP Party was Fantastic ! "…read more My wife and I were invited to the 2016-2017 Broadway San Diego Preview Presentation and VIP Party a week ago at the Balboa Theatre in San Diego, and we had a great time !. My wife and I have been President Club season ticket holders at Broadway San Diego for several years. Every year Broadway San Diego has a special invitation only Preview Presentation and VIP party for President Club members. The purpose of the event is to view the entire up coming and new play schedule for the next Broadway San Diego Season. The presentation was hosted by Barbara Lee Edwards from KFMB Channel 8 news. After watching a short preview of which plays that were going to be featured for 2016-2017 season, we listened to live performances by singers from the Sound of Music, and the Lion King. Lead singer Tshidi Manye came all the way from New York City, just to sing the famous "Circle of Life" song to us. Tshidi's performance was breath taking ! After previewing the 2016-2017 season, the VIP Presidents Club members were invited up on stage for a very special party. The party included wine, champagne bars, and a magnificent collection of decadent finger foods, which were prepared by St. Tropez Bakery & Bistro. Everything was delicious ! Sarah Jordan the Senior President's Club Representative who my wife and I deal with the most, is Awesome ! Sarah is so professional and precise, as she has handled all of our wants, needs, and requests perfectly over the years. Sarah also played a large roll in the success of this event. Vanessa Davis, Sarah Jordan's boss, and who is Broadway San Diego's Groups, Patron Sales, & President's Club Manager, did a wonderful job organizing, and preparing everything for this Broadway Presentation and VIP Party. Broadway San Diego Vice President Joe Kobryner started the VIP Party off, by introducing all important sponsors and guests to the VIP Party members. Towards the end of the VIP Party, the director of Marketing and Business Development Carl Thompson, raffled off several very nice prizes for all guests in attendance. This night at the Balboa Theatre was Informative, Fun, Fantastic, and was nicely organized and executed by all Broadway San Diego employees. Great Job ! The Nederlander Group would be very proud of you !

Sound: The main factor, and this place is not bad at all. The vocals were maybe a hair low, but that's based on a three-man band so I dunno how they'd check a bigger act. Volume not high enough to merit earplugs when standing just in front of the sound booth, but might have been close to necessary by the stage. System sounds pretty clear and well balanced overall. 2. Temperature: Eugh... Warm, oppressively so. Dunno if the AC was broken or just off, but it got toasty considering it was a show where most of the crowd were pretty static and there was solely a headline and no support sets. Outside temperature wasn't oppressive either, seemed worse than similar sized venues. 3. Plenty of parking for (what still seems to me an excessive amount of) $20 outside. Traffic getting out was chaos, with people cutting queues and nobody organizing egress until the actual gate.

I was disappointed on several levels: First and foremost, the quality of the comedians was mediocre at best! The crowd rarely laughed and when they did laugh, it was weak and unenthusiastic. I recently attended Jim Gaffigan's performance and laughed my ass off (and I don't laugh easily). Secondly, I got to the Fair a few hours early to see some exhibits and get dinner. When I presented my ticket at the main gate, I was told I needed a different ticket to enter the Fair. The gate agent referred me to her supervisor who said this problem has been happening all day to other guests. The supervisor directed out of line and to the Box Office. The Box Office agent said she could not help me even though I showed her my official eTicket to the Comedy event. She directed me to the far end of the fairgrounds to get my ticket to the Fair from The Sound box office.
