Yeah, yeah... I know. Ticket scalpers are whack, but sometimes when you REALLY want to see a show, a sporting event, or a theater production... a professional ticket scalper is your only safe option. The argument can be made that ticket scalpers are the reason a lot of hot shows sell out in San Diego, but since there's no law against swooping up enough tickets to spiff out an entire African village, there's not much we can do if we wait too long to buy our way into a concert. Flight of the Conchords, for example: I waited two days to buy my tickets after they went on sale... and guess what? Sold cleeeeeaaaaaaaan out. Damn! Now I have a few options: 1. Creepy Craigslist encounter where you're essentially gambling on the fact that the person you're buying your ticket from is honest (and won't kill you in a Rite Aid parking lot). 2. EBAY... I always suck at buying stuff on there. Always outbid right at the last second. 3. Stub Hub... a great alternative, but a high mark up on tickets and service fees. 4. Local ticket scalper. This time around, I went for option 4. If I'm gonna be throwing down a few ducks on concert tickets, I might as well spend it in town to help boost our local economy, right? OG tickets to the Flight of the Conchords show were going for $50 ($35 base, $10 'convenience charges,' and taxes). Because the show is tonight, Atlas had a special ticket price of $60/ticket. Not half bad, considering most of the tickets floating around the internet are going for anywhere between $85 and $100 each. These guys are pros and they've been selling tickets locally for 20 years. They won't burn you (as it's their livelihood at stake), so even though it puts you in a strange moral dilemma, it's worth the peace of mind to buy from a legitimate source. If you're reading this review and you're teetering on buying tickets of your own... DO IT!

    Beautiful stadium.

This thing is basically a floating city. At its peak, thousands of people lived and worked aboard, and there is an ACTUAL FULL ASS RUNWAY on the flight deck. You can walk through the ship, see where people lived, worked, ate and slept, and then walk upstairs and find yourself standing next to fighter jets. The ship is named for the Battle of Midway, the WWII battle where the United States sank four Japanese aircraft carriers and turned the tide in the Pacific. I don't know how many miles you could walk on this thing, but it's several. Fascinating!

We purchased tickets online weeks before, which I would also recommend as it makes entry much faster. Upon entry, I would recommend getting in line for the Midway movie, it's a great documentary, along with being air conditioned. Once we finished the movie, we started our exploration of the ship. There are multiple aircraft on the level you enter on. We decided to explore the ship after exploring the main level where some of the aircraft are stored. There are multiple areas to explore on the ship. You are able to everything from the bunks for sailors, control rooms, air traffic control, mess hall, and all the areas (there are a lot of them!) that make the ship function. After finishing the deck tour, we headed up to the flight deck to see the remaining collection of aircraft. There are fun cockpits to sit in and take pictures, along with great views of San Diego and the bay. I would recommend giving yourself at least 3 hours for a good tour without rushing.

I purchased Padres tickets through a 3rd party vendor that ended up being from Spectator Tickets. The vendor messed up my order and I unwittingly purchased tickets for the wrong day. I immediately called and was put in touch with Julia at Spectator Tickets. All sales were supposed to be final, but she empathized with my situation and worked tirelessly for hours to find me tickets on the day I wanted, which was today! She not only was able to find me tickets but I did not have to pay any additional charges because she found seats in the same section for the same price for me! Its rare to find companies that will bend over backwards for you these days, even going against "procedure" to make sure that the customer is happy. I'll definitely go out of my way to buy tickets from Spectator Tickets next time I need tickets. I highly recommend that you do too. And their prices were way below face value!

Sound in main stage can be decent, while I saw 2 acts in side stage and sound was poor for both. A few chairs at main stage for raised "Premium Seating"- no apparent AC. when they turned on the large fan, which had dust all over the front, you can guess what happened for the first minute or so. It's kind of funny as they have this sign which says "Craft Beer" but the lack of a line was a bad sign. There were a few IPA, Modelo - not Negra - and not much else. Want a soda - go back outside by entrance. It's really not hard for them to have some other options, as they're in cans and bottles, they could even pick up something simple like Guinness in a can or a local beer like Mike Hess. Parking is OK, but the last show we saw was pretty full, as was the lot by showtime. They claim World Famous...hmmm. Maybe when SOMA was actually South Of Market it was famous-adjacent. If we compare it to a similar size club such as the Observatory, the Observatory has a sloped floor with better viewing angles, much better drinks, and a better stage. If they continue to get bands we want to see, we will go back, but we will wear comfortable shoes, and get a soda or water on the way in.

The ticketing process was confusing, and when we arrived, security told us we had purchased only one ticket instead of two. We were directed to the ticket booth, where the woman with curly hair and glasses was extremely rude and unhelpful. We explained that the website's "General Admission 2 for 1" promotion was misleading, but instead of helping resolve the issue, she simply told us it was our responsibility to purchase the correct ticket and directed us to buy another one. There was no effort to understand the situation or find a solution, just an attitude of "your problem." We ultimately left disappointed and had to dispute the charge for a service we never received. Very poor customer service and a frustrating experience. We will not be returning.
