i was having shoulder surgery and wanted to get out and have fun my last day before this painful journey. i type this review with one arm in a sling  ... i chose to spend the day in Cinci.  i love playing with my camera and walking about. my husband who known me well after 23 yrs knew getting out would get my mind off my fear.       i had commented several times id like to send the day exploring cincis murals and thats what we did. we looked up a mural map and parked ... walked about. our own self guided tour. we didnt see them all .. just small potion. it was hot and humid but really fun.        this was one we found and i tried to pic the plaques to keep track of what we needed to find next time.  cinci has amazing murals!

It is worth noting this building has become an immersive art experience building. It was originally…read moreVan Gogh, but is now Monet. They control the number of people for each time slot well, and you don't feel crowded if you want to linger and read information. They have comfortable seating areas in the 360 exhibit area, and the entire "show" was probably 45 minutes before the art starts to repeat. The best part about the immersive art is that you could choose to sit through it more than once, if you wish to. There's no time limit once you are inside. I think they do a great job trying to cluster information together to help you understand the training and path, and life, journey of the artist throughout each phase of their life. it's easy to just walk up and stare at a painting. I love that they took a certain view of the parliament building and showed how the artist painted it five times throughout his lifetime and how his style and colors changed with each phase of his life. I really think they tried hard to blend and history together, which is unique. It gave me a deeper appreciation. I didn't pay attention to see if there was an elevator, but we did take a lot of stairs to get from the restrooms on the bottom floor to part of the exhibits on the first floor, and the upper floor would be where the movie viewing gallery would be where you are immersed in a 360 circle with the art. I love that they used an existing downtown building and that you can park and walk to so many restaurants and museums in the downtown Cincinnati area. We chose the Fountain Square parking garage, went to eat at Nada and walked to the Monet exhibit. We noticed on the walk that we could've also went to the contemporary art museum, which is right downtown but we were out of time. It could be a good full day of lunch and art. The building is a little chilly, I would recommend having a coat. I think it's such an older large building. It's probably very expensive to heat. This was a great girls trip day event, and everyone enjoyed it from the 20-year-olds to my mother who is in her 60s.

The immersive experience was cool and well, as advertised, it was definitely immersive. I realize the Van Gogh experience has moved on, but the Monet is running currently and I'm certain it's as good. I'll say it was worth the cost of admission, so there you have it. Whoever puts together these exhibits knows what they're doing.

Never would I have guess we would be going on such an interesting tour and having a wonderful meal after the tour in this area. So good to see this progress. Our tour guide was Laura and while she gave useful historical facts she definitely left us with less than a hospitable feeling and that it was a bit of a drag to be giving the same tour over and over. Maybe this is the norm or maybe she was having an off day but if you are busking for tips at the tour it is a good idea to pretend to enjoy your job. Still glad we did the tour and it left us wanting for even more information on the OTR area.

I adore hearing the old stories about the cities I visit and this one, is one of the better tours I've been on. Linda clearly LOVES leading the tours, She knows what she's talking about and no question threw her. She had a great sense of humor and even let us know about other tours for later in the evening. I will take the other tours that you have in the future when I visit for longer times. These are great!
