It's a gorgeous venue with two cool outdoor dining that's covered. Its use is for shows like tonight which was Burlesque. Weddings and other events are held here including tea parties. Seeing this little Victorian Belle of a gem online really got us excited. I passed some run-down neighborhoods to get there. And the property itself isn't as large as I envisioned in my mind. Parking is minimal and most people just parallel where they can along the side. But the house itself is absolutely stunning. There is so much detail in the stained glass on every single door. Even the dust corners on the stairs are uniquely ornate. All three levels are completely decorated. And festive Christmas fixings are adorned everywhere you look. The house is so well managed, and it is so lovely to be able to actively enjoy a piece of history. The hostess was very flexible about changing our seats when we were too close to our other patrons. Personally, we were in the Winnie Holgate Room, which has creamy beige walls and blue accenting. It overlooks the courtyard and has very pleasant views. Foodwise, we got to trial some mushroom soup. It was so rich and tasty. It was concentrated, full bodied unami with a hint of herbs. Everything else was presented on a tiered serving stand. The cucumber cream cheese and salmon sandwiches were pretty basic. The smokiness of the salmon was muted. The caprese skewer had a nice tangy bite to it with just enough basil to give it some fragrance. Out of all the pastries, the peach scone was the best. There was just enough of the fruit pieces to give it some texture without overwhelming it. The accompanying jam and mascarpone were spot on. The cherry and chocolate scone was a little drier. And the fruit chunks were very large in ratio to the chocolate. It was not a complimentary combination. In regard to the tea, Smiths is always great quality. They have good full bodied flavors with low astringency. Overall, the food and tea were pretty decent. And this was indeed a unique experience in a historic location that not only serves high tea but also caters other events. I would much like to come back in the spring or summer when the fountains are functioning and everything is in full bloom.

There were so many details to manage and Autumn and Katy didn't miss a stitch! Tragically, on the morning of our wedding, a close family member passed away unexpectedly and we needed to make some big changes to our plan. Both Autumn and Katy were incredibly kind and jumped into the action to coordinate with vendors and guests to adjust the plan as needed. The wedding began with an outdoor ceremony on the Redwood Deck at the Hoyt Arboretum. Autumn and Katy were the first people on site and worked with our rentals vendor and florist to ensure everything was delivered and picked up on time. They also set up and decorated the site beautifully, provided a gorgeous charcuterie board and drinks, and ensured all of our guests found the site and were greeted upon arrival. They also worked tirelessly at the reception location coordinating with the restaurant, florist, DJ, and cake baker to ensure everything was on track. Throughout the day, they managed a myriad of details to ensure everything continued to run smoothly and at the end of the night, they packed up all of the extra food, flowers, and decor so that we could maximize the time with our guests. Afterwards, they managed all of the pesky returns so we could relax and enjoy the weekend. Honestly, when we started planning our wedding, we weren't sure we needed a wedding planner or day-of coordinator at all but looking back, there is no way we could have done it without Autumn and Katy's incredible support. They were absolutely exceptional and we can't recommend them strongly enough. Thank you so much!

Knowing that this was going to be one of the most important days in our lives, we did a lot of homework and interviewed several planners. In addition to experience and strong references, the single most important factor to us was chemistry. Warm and genuinely caring, we connected with Carisa from the start and knew we didn't want to entrust our wedding to anyone else. The other factors we considered: 1) clear, reliable communication skills - including the ability to listen and really understand our vision and intention for the event; 2) strong organizational skills and follow-through; 3) established relationships with the best vendors; 4) clear design inspiration and passion; and 5) a game-day MVP who calmly directs the show behind the scenes and makes everything run smoothly. Carisa delivered on every criteria, and, in fact, exceeded our high expectations. It has now been over a year since our special day, and we still get compliments from our guests who tell us it was the best wedding they've ever been to! The whole experience was truly joyous and magical, and Carisa and the entire Adornment Events team were essential in making our dream a reality. The financial investment in hiring Carisa and her A-team to seamlessly orchestrate our big day was worth every penny, and we could not have done it without them. We cannot recommend Carisa and Adornment Events highly enough!!!
