This post is regarding their newly opened Yuma Location at the corner of 16th Street and 1st Avenue. I placed an order to go. I then watched them put to-go orders up on the counter, one after another, for the next 35 minutes and calling names for people to come and pick up their orders, without hearing my name. Finally, I went up and asked about my order that I had placed 35 minutes previously. They pulled my order up from under the counter and swore to me that they had been calling my name. Honestly, I felt Gringoed. Not cool! I will not be going back ever again and will be steering all of my fellow workmates and friends away from this place. Also, the place has only been open a few months and already is looking bad. Down around the baseboards, by the doorway, on the way to the restroom, which I did not use, was filthy. Last note: The Burrito was not awful, but nothing to write a good review about. Uninspiring taste, considering I paid $13.50 for it. And the guys that are preparing them are right on the other side of the customer counter having conversations with the counter customers as they work. So everyone's burritos and tacos are getting breathed on by both the employees and the customers at the counter as they prepare them. I'll stick with Monster Taco, thank you not so much. read more

Very nice job in remodeling the inside, great color scheme, new furniture and spacious and clean. Pretty simple menu, which is nice, not much selection in meat for a place that is featuring grilling. Service was ok, staff not super welcoming but not rude or dismissive. Would help to have a menu board or menus at the door, they are at the register and have to navigate people ordering or servers taking out food to get one. We had the queso taco, vampire taco and quesadilla, tried asada and Aquila. Aquila had a good taste to it, asada was ok, not very seasoned, hopped supper fine and with good portion, for the tortilla they are using. Red salsa on the table was fantastic, green sauce good but not great. Did order grilled Serrano peppers and onions which they forgot to bring out and had to go ask for them. Overall, nice place, decent food, good prices, not enough for me to return, as nothing I can't get at any taco stand in Yuma. read more

The food is good and the cooks are super nice. It's the girls in the front that have the nastiest attitudes. I used to come here every few weeks get a couple tacos and I'm on my way and it never fails with the girls it doesn't even matter who's there. They always seem nicer to men but I've heard them talk about other girls in there, and be rude to not just me but others. I see most of the complains here are the rude staff and trust me when I say it's not the cooks at all. I really wish the owner would look into these girls because it sucks that they're making his business go downhill read more

The Smell of Carne over a Mesquite Grill is great. Flavor of the meat is so much better than cooking over a flattop. Do wish they had guacamole. read more

We were in town for a funeral and after the services had to find some tacos served Sonora style. My girls' father highly recommended we try this place that apparently was the place for tacos after partying in San Luis (on the Mexico side) back when he was younger. He did warn us that the only thing was that we would leave "smelling like tacos"! Umm... Okay...? Anyway, located in a strip mall with plenty of parking, the place has both tables and booths for eating inside. No outdoor seating available. When we walked in there were only a couple customers, but by the time we got our food, the place was packed! It seemed strange to me that the only meat choices are asada and tripas and because that's all they offered, of course I had to try both! I'm not normally one that orders tripas, but I asked that they be crispy and they did not disappoint! There were four of us in our party and everyone ordered asada tacos with me adding on a tripas taco and my friend ordering also a bean and cheese burrito. She is actually still salivating over her burrito as I write this review and it's been over 24 hours that she took that last bite! She swears it's the best tasting beans she's had in a long time! Beans were mashed but not liquified and this sent her into la-la land! Go figure! She never mentioned anything about her asada taco! Being from SoCal, I actually learned that tacos are made with either flour or corn tortillas in this part of Arizona and that was some rather impressive news to me. I like both, but prefer corn for tacos, however one of my daughters ordered hers on flour (she already knew this info!). We all loved our food and we almost instantly knew why their dad said we would surely walk out smelling like tacos... Somebody please buy them a fan! It was like the great smoke out once they got cooking! My eyes were literally watering from the smoke, but all the other customers (probably locals!) seemed oblivious to the clouds of smoke they were sitting in! Other than the smoke, food was delicious and they serve a great salsa! Tacos could use a bit more meat, but they are definitely tasty. I highly recommend the tripas (and a gas mask)! read more

Grilling directly thru carbon gives a better authentic asada flavor. Do wish salsa would be hotter / spicier. read more

Its an open kitchen.You think you'd be welcomed in by the smell of delicious Carne Asada on the grill, but no instead it smelled like cleaning chemicals major red flag ,( but hey let's give them the benefit of the doubt ) My husband and I ordered a Carne Asada taco on flour and a tripa on corn along with a bean and cheese burrito. Everything came out to about roughly $12. Now we waited about 20 minutes for our order to arrive. The restaurant was 60% full so it's kinda understandable . As we waited, we sat near the register and the kitchen. I noticed behind the register they had the aguas frescas. The large foam cups were near the Jamaica water and had drippings or smudges of some type of red, which I assume was the Jamaica. Every time someone ordered a Agua Fresca the lady at the cashier reached behind her and grabbed a foam cup and didn't bother to wipe off, even if the person was getting an Horchata drink. Every cup was being handed out with red smudges. Now let's get to the food. They bring you a stainless steel container with salsa. Presentation poor , that thing had so many smudged fingerprints on it looked like it had just came from a daycare. I don't think they have ever bothered to wipe them down . My husband's Carne Asada taco was shameful . I truly believe they don't marinate their meat. It was as if they had soaked it in water overnight, then cooked it , because it was pale grey in color and desperately needed salt and It had NO flavor. My tripa taco was the worst I've ever had ! As soon as I took a bite, It felt like they must've sprinkled some sand in there because I could feel the crunch against my teeth. It also lacked in flavor. Very sad . The worst of all was the bean and cheese burrito. They had whole pinto beans in it, and it was extremely watery. The water didn't even taste like pinto bean broth just brown water. The so-called Monterey Jack cheese was more rubbery than my shoe. It had no stretch whatsoever and no flavor. I felt like I was eating old silly putty. The only thing you can taste was the burnt tortilla. I don't know who encouraged this poor persons vision, but he people of Yuma do not deserve such disgusting food, do better. read more

I don't know what these other reviewers are talking but this is not a decent place for tacos. To start the kitchen is one of the dirtiest areas I've ever seen. The register is placed in front of an open kitchen area where dropped and spilled food was seen all over the floor the sink was overloaded with dishes the prep area was littered with who knows what. The sitting area has tables that have various papers shoved under the legs to balance them and the bathrooms are gross. The meat is grilled daily however what you're being served isn't exactly the freshest. After you place your order it arrives in 5-8 minutes. The reason is that the meat your served has already been sitting for far too long. From what I saw the meat is initially grilled then placed aside in another metal container to be staged. This kept going and when I placed my order he was re-grilling these pieces and then placing in a different container to be chopped. The issue is once it's been grilled and sitting it should be cooked. However it continues to cook while sitting then regrilled and then placed in a different container to sit some More. Needless to say the tacos I ate were so hard and dry I couldn't even eat. Let alone they aren't seasoned at all. This is nothing like the original place. The short ribs tacos had mostly fat to them and were also not seasoned. The staff ate friendly but looked so overwhelmed that I'm sure this is what leads to the kitchen looking like so disorganized. read more

Our family wanted a quick lunch before running errands and wanted to give this place a try. From the start there was no welcoming and once we approached the cash register we were served with the most non enthusiastic and monotone service as if we were bothering the cashier. After place our order the food was delivered promptly with little to no appeal. The portions were small, flavorless, with little toppings available. The salsa was slightly mild with little no flavor. The tacos were bland with no flavor and to top things off we found a hair in my son's tacos. After taking the food back we received no apology for the hair. The restaurant was very busy and dirty. I went to use the restroom and it smelt like raw sewage, this place was screaming red flags from the start but we still are there with an open mind and $60 later... which I wouldn't have had a problem with the pricing if the food was good; it was not. Maybe that's why they have you pay first so you can't get a refund once they serve you the product. The radishes were old, the lemons had no juice, and no salsa verde. Overall the experience was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had which is rare because we frequently like to eat out especially when we go out of town. My disappointment is immeasurable and the only silver lining was that I know to never dine here again and to recommend to anybody reading this interview to STAY CLEAR and spend your money elsewhere where you will enjoy the food and get your moneys worth... please heed my warning. read more

As soon as you walk in you get the smell of San Luis Mexico taco shop. Amazing! The meat was fresh and overall delicious.
