This place is well hidden behind the many vendors taking up the area but my husband and I got lucky and someone was able to show us exactly where they're located. Fresh shrimp and fish fried right in front of you; they also have carne asada that is to die for! The men working the stand are friendly, fast and also speak English. They take cards as well as cash, and if you do use a card payment there is a $1 extra charge. This place was so delicious we had it for lunch one day and then breakfast the next. There is a sitting area in the back with tables and chairs that is shaded and clean. Overall a 10/10 experience, the food was so good I didn't even take a picture I ate it so quickly. Arguably the best shrimp tacos, period. Tucked away in Los Algodones is this little gem of an eatery. It's not a restaurant but so worth the visit. My favorite is as you have guessed the fried shrimp tacos, their fish tacos are lovely as well but the shrimp is by far the star in my opinion. Order at the taco station, signage will guide you as to what the process is. Food will be handed to you and you then get to doctor it up to your liking. For me, it's the best with everything on it, the guacamole sauce (small extra fee of $0.50), shredded cabbage, pickled onions, verde salsa, salsa roja, squeeze of lime. Well we were lucky enough to eat at Lupitas this Sunday before noon. Nice little hidden spot between entrance and exit by the border gate. They deep fry the home breaded shrimp, fish, ( fresh as you order) carne asada tacos were wonderful also. We had two shrimp tacos, two fish tacos, 3 carne asada tacos and a shrimp quesadilla between the three of us, a couple small side of guacamole. Drinks a Mexican coke and bottle of water. All cost us $33.00. About $3+ for tacos, burritos $8, and quesadillas $9. Nice little private patio with clean tables with salt and napkins on them plus upon getting your order a salsa bar to " dress up" your tacos according to your taste. Finally, I found the best place! I could not believe how much fish and shrimp they put on my tacos and how delicious they are. I love the condiment bar where you can put anything you want on top of them. They are small and two would probably be enough for most people but I had three and I'm happy I did. The fish tacos are $1.75 each and the shrimp tacos are $2 each. There are tables to sit at and a swamp cooler. They are across the street from the purple liquor store in the middle of the block right after you cross the border. Ask anyone for directions. My dentist said she eats there. read more

For less than $2, you get a full tortilla (the smaller size for tacos) of delicious fish (light), shrimp (favorite), or beef (tender and tasty) then you can add sour cream or chipotle sauce (in the squeeze bottles), shredded cabbage, red sauce (little spicy), green sauce (slightly spicy), pickled onion, and pico de gallo (no jalapeños, so it's mild).
