We both felt the job would be too hard as both the jacket and lining need mending. we took it to Asap. She quoted $20.00 and promised a quick turn around. We had it back that afternoon. I hate giving bad reviews to small businesses, but this place deserves it. It was probably my fault for bringing a military uniform to a civilian tailor, but I was reassured that they had experience with them. The lady who took the measurements said she wasn't sure if she could lengthen the sleeves, but included the price in the ticket just in case. When I picked up the jacket there was a different lady who told me she had no idea if the sleeves were lengthened or not, but that was the price on the ticket. When I went home and inspected the jacket closer it turned out that they hadn't been lengthened. I gave specific instructions on wear to sew the patches on, and even provided pictures with instructions and they were put on incorrectly. read more

I got married in 2017 and a nice lady here took my bodice in to make to smaller speedily and skillfully. Sorry I never posted my review... I had never needed this work done before, this was my first time needing someone to fix clothing for me and she made the experience very easy. They ask you to bring in all the structural elements of your dress to make it as accurate as possible. In my case I had a hoop skirt which barely fit in the room. My wedding dress did not fit me AT ALL, and it was a very expensive dress, which made me a little nervous to get it altered. But she did an amazing job and the price wasn't too outlandish. It was amazing when finally my wedding dress fit me perfectly, and the bustle was perfect too. My dress had to be altered all around the open back, the hips, the length..... it was pretty incredible how she got it all perfectly. And the fabric around the back was this thin sheer fabric that seemed impossible to fix but she did it and you couldn't even tell that it was altered. read more

THEY do great work but are a little more expensive than I am use to. They are also usually amenable for doing same day work for double the price. I am a great customer who never tries things on after theyre finished, never brings things back, never complains and always pays cash upfront I would have given this business 4 stars if i hadnt had an issue regarding a credit they owed me that was never validated. I prepaid for four items to be altered in August. When I got home, i realized that one of the pieces wasn't flattering enough to invest additional money in. I asked the owner if she would just keep the credit for me till next time. I came in two times after that but the owner was never there. I just figured I'd get the credit applied to my alterations when I eventually saw the owner. Went in today, (5 months later), and owner insisted i had used the credit - I hadn't. I didn't argue (even though i was positive i hadn't used the credit), because it honestly had been so long since i saw the owner in the shop, I had assumed she had sold the business to the other tailor. I have another tailor on Beacon Hill who is great and a little less expensive. I will likely go back there next time, I have lots of stuff to bring in. read more

I've utilized this alteration shop several times for things like replacing zippers, hemming jeans and slacks, etc. The work is always done well and completed on time. The price is slightly higher than I would like to pay, but she does offer a discount for paying cash, and the location is fairly close to my home and convenient to get to. I can be in, try things on for measurements, and back out the door in 10 minutes usually even though she has a fairly busy business. The owner is very nice though she takes a little time to warm up. She has the magic touch with or hide and tends to have several she is caring for in the shop. Overall pleasant and convenient service. read more

I had found the most amazing dress on a sale rack and it was marked down about 50%, so I bought it even though it didn't fit perfectly. I've never had anything tailored or altered before, so I was pretty nervous to take this great find somewhere. When I finally decided on ASAP bc a friend said she'd had her wedding dress hemmed there, I took my dress in and it only took a few minutes for her to pin it and ask my opinion, so the whole process was pretty painless. I think it was $20 or $25 to have an unlined cocktail dress taken-in in the waist and hips, and she told me to come pick it up in a week. A week later, I came flying in straight form work, trying to catch them before they closed. She didn't seem to mind at all that I walked in at about 5:59:42. I slipped the dress on, fell in love with it all over again, and thanked her about a hundred times. It fit perfectly and looked even better than I had hoped. I'm so excited to have found a flexible, local, inexpensive tailor!! Next time I need something altered, I'll definitely go back to her, and I've already recommended her to my friends! read more

I went here based on the reviews but wound up disappointed. I brought it 3 jeans, two to be hemmed and one to have waist taken in. The hems were $12 each and the waist was $26. It's hard for me to figure out out how Rose had her work done so inexpensively. There was a definite problem with communication here. I wanted the jeans to keep the original hems and shorten the length. She said yes. I think the problem is you try things on and she is very quick in marking the item. Well after coming back to pick up said items, I realized that I did not get what I wanted. She said the hems would have been double the price for the trouble. Are you kidding me? Sorry the prices were not fair and the stitching just wasn't that special. read more

Never having been to an alteration shop before, I thought I'd be massively overcharged because it was kind of a rush and a fair amount of work. Wrong! I was referred to this amazing Russian woman for alterations from my favorite 2nd hand store, and boy was I impressed! There were a favorite pair of maternity jeans that I'd been keeping in case I got preggo again, but, keep trying to wear them with a belt to keep them up, lol. Deciding to have them made into a regular pair of jeans, I took this referral & went in one afternoon to explain what I needed. These jeans weren't the cotton belly patch kind, but, ones that had an elastic waistband around the back with buttons to pull it tighter if I needed to. Anyway, other alterations places told me it was impossible to do & make look normal. The woman at ASAP Alterations said "No problem, they will be ready in a week"...and they were! They look amazing & fit perfectly now! I am soooooooo happy, these are my favorite pair of jeans now. :) read more

I went with the bride to take her WEDDING DRESS to ASAP alterations so I took my BRIDESMAIDS DRESS to the same location. This place is AMAZING! The seamstress is a magician I swear! The bottom of the wedding dress had many layers with a long train in the back; the top had a high sheer neckline with lace and a beaded back all the way up the back. Needless to say this was a difficult wedding dress to do alterations on. The seamstress took this already beautiful dress and made it into something even more magical and more beautiful than what I could even imagine. When all of the fittings were all said and done the dress fit the bride like a glove! You could not see where any changes were made, nothing what so ever. Even the hem on the bottom of the dress, I would guess the seamstress took at least 6 to 10 inches off the bottom, I was worried it would changed the look of the dress but nope not at all. You could not even tell that an extensive hem even happened. I recommend this place 10000%. I myself am not married and when that time comes I will be coming here for sure! For my bridesmaids dress alterations that went just as well. The dress had 5 layers in the skirt and a lace high neck off the shoulders top. In the end my dress fit perfectly, and you could not tell that anything was done. The seamstress is very honest, blunt and to the point but hey I prefer it that way. She is very professional and in the end you are going to get exactly what you want. The COST for the alterations for the wedding dress was pretty fair from what I understand, maybe a little more than other places but I would pay more for PEACE OF MIND when it comes to someone cutting up a wedding dress and putting it back together. For the bridesmaids' dress my alterations came to about $150, she had to hem 5 layers of the skirt and took some fabric out in the shoulders. From what I understand the other bridesmaids in the wedding who had the same exact bridesmaids dress went to "less expensive" places (only $50 less) and let's just say there were a couple surprises after their alterations were done. This lady knows what she is doing and you can tell in the quality of work she does that she has been doing it for a very long time! read more

DO NOT GO HERE!! I tried to get my bridesmaid dress altered here. I first called and asked for a quote for a hem. The owner said I need to come in with my dress...ok, makes sense. I went in with my dress and after seeing the dress on me, she said it would be $50. FOR A HEM!!! I told her I will pass and go somewhere else. She then told me I owe her $10 for a fitting! I said that was not discussed when or walked in or over the phone. Needless to say I walked out and will never return. read more

The suit was held up in customs somehow and it ended up arriving only 3 days before our wedding. Then when he tried it on it was way too big. We were supposed to head out of town to the wedding venue the following day. We called her up in a frenzy, asking if she could help us. I would give zero stars if it were an option. I took a maternity dress to be shortened. When I got it home, one side was clearly longer than the other. I returned to have it fixed and the owner said she could see no difference. It looked the same to her. (It was blatantly obvious). Next she moved onto blaming the dress and the way I had hung it to dry after washing it. I attempted to explain that it was brand new and I had not yet washed it. It still had tags on it! She continued to interrupt me and try to show me the correct way to hang it to dry instead of taking responsibility and fixing it. I finally grabbed it & left because she was so unreasonable. Now I'm out my original alteration fee & have to go to a 2nd location and pay to have it hemmed correctly. Poor quality work & virtually no customer service. read more
