What a great experience!…read more I had a laptop that literally crashed; I mean it fell from a table and shattered the screen and loosened the power ports. It was dead in the water. I use this laptop every day in support of a small mom and pop business and it was dead in the water. I spoke to several people in the area and they recommended their service. I spoke with them and we developed a fix. I would have to have the screen and ports replaced, but, given the age of the laptop, it was not worth it. I did not have a recent backup, so I was in a bind. They gave me prompt service and great advice as to cost, given the age of the laptop and whether it was worth the effort. I decided on a new laptoo and they were able to download the files from the damaged laptop. They had me up in running in a short amount of time and I was able to continue our business with minimal downtime. Would I go back to them??? Hell Yeah. Five Stars.

He wasn't able to recover the data and I was still charged the full $80 hourly rate. He did mention more advanced (and very expensive) recovery options, but I wish the limits of what he could do himself and the cost if nothing worked had been clearer up front. For serious data recovery, I'd consider a dedicated specialist and ask detailed questions about fees and expectations in advance.
