After carefully reading all of the reviews of the Crossfits in Lodi and visiting Crossfit Lodi we decided that this would be the best fit for us. The class schedule was convenient and had plenty of times we could come without changing up our schedule. The pricing was right and I like that they have options for different membership types so everyone can find one that fits their budget and schedule. (Yes, it is more than your typical gym membership but it will kick your butt in gear in a short period of time and you're basically getting personal training at every workout which makes Crossfit a steal! ) They ask that you do 4 fundamental classes if you have never done Crossfit before which I think is great, you get one on one attention to teach you the basic lifts to make sure you don't injure yourself. We did 2 fundamental classes just to brush up on the lifts. Our first session was with Rose and she was such a sweetheart. Our second session was with the owner, Jamie, who is awesome was well. I felt confident being in both of their hands. Everyone at the gym (owner, coaches and members) are all so nice and very welcoming. There are members of every shape and color so if you're hesitant to give Crossfit a try because you're intimidated, don't be, everyone is welcoming. I love that this is a small gym so there aren't people fighting over equipment, its not too crowded and you continue to get one on one attention throughout your workouts. I love the atmosphere and whether you're the first to finish or the last everyone encourages you and cheers you on. You don't feel like you're competing with others at Crossfit, the focus is on competing with yourself and setting your own personal records. I have found that since I began doing Crossfit I am much more positive with myself, the little voice in my head no longer says "You cant keep going" to "You can do this, keep going!" I look forward to my future workouts at Crossfit Lodi.

Not only that but they have helped me see past my own personal mental barriers to do things I never thought possible. I feel great and am on my way to looking great! Not only are the trainers and owners stellar, but the members are as well! Everyone is so welcoming and encouraging regardless of your fitness level. To say I love the place would be an understatement.

The first competition held @ #CrossFit #Lodi. It was a success and I look forward to the upcoming second Santa Smackdown.

However, it has been a rough few months for me and I haven't been able to go lately. I decided to cancel my membership with the hopes of returning once everything settles down. When I messaged the owner Gabe, I was being honest about why I had to cancel even if it's my right to keep my personal issues to myself. Seeing as I am the one paying, I feel like it's up to me to decide whether I want to terminate the service or not. Instead of respecting my decision to leave, I was met with passive aggressive behavior as seen in the screenshot below. Before committing to this, just take into consideration that you might be met with the same attitude when you want to terminate your membership.

Stay with me: Facility - The 209 building is one of the biggest facilities I have ever seen. They have several racks, a separate rope climb section, indoor track for runs and 20 or so rowers and bikes. I can go on and on! No shortage of equipment. Lastly, the place is very clean! Coaching - The coach for my 9am class today was knowledgable, energetic and communicated well. He worked just as well with the veteran members as he did with the newbies. I'm not an expert by any stretch, but all of his teaching methods were sound and consistent with crossfitting best practices, to the best of my knowledge. Crossfit 209 is setting the bar for Crossfit Boxes in the 209 area code and beyond. Good work guys, keep up the good work!

"Join us at the 5am class!" they said.. I responded, "WHAT?! That's the middle of the night!!!" After some contemplation, and no other convenient time, I started coming about 2-4 times per week.... and I LOVE IT! I go to sleep a little bit earlier at night, but start my day off with more energy and better attitude. The coaches, Torsten and Josh, are awesome! Inclusive atmosphere, all different levels of fitness, no pressure to perform harder than you're comfortable with -- but enough pressure to push your boundaries and encourage progress. I lost 18 lbs. in the first 2 months!! From 189lbs.- 171lbs.!! Ultimately significantly lowering my cholesterol. I do t even know who I am anymore!

I joined ASAP when I was new to weightlifting and CrossFit. I had run numerous half marathons,…read more10Ks, and 5Ks, so I considered myself in pretty good physical/cardio shape. I knew that all the research said that runners should be not only be cross training, but also weightlifting to prevent injury and support their running goals. Still, weightlifting was a whole new ball park and I was so frightened of injuring myself and not being able to do the cardio that I loved. Contrary to my reservations, joining ASAP and my journey into CrossFit has been anything but frightening. The coaches listen to your fitness goals and history, know your reservations, and they easily offer modifications when/if needed. Every coach leads you through a thorough warm up, models the movements, watches you practice the motions with them, provides feedback, and then transitions the class into actually starting the WOD. As a runner, working out with ASAP has only made me stronger and faster. I have PR'ed my 5K, 10K, and half marathon times, even placing top 3 at a few local races. (Not to mention one of which I was pushing my 2 year old in the jogging stroller!) I completed my first trail marathon and CIM this last year. I have always felt competent as an athlete when it comes to cardio, but I've never felt so strong and capable. I am so thankful for such an encouraging community of athletes from all walks of life, various ages, and athletic goals/backgrounds. CrossFit is such a humbling endeavor, but it is extremely motivating, as well. I constantly am inspired by the athletes around me. I love that ASAP prioritizes the goal of healthy living (i.e., to stay healthy for your kid, to be an active grandparent, etc.), instead of being motivated simply by physical gains and appearance. I love that ASAP offers a program with the flexibility for mamas to continue to strengthen our bodies even through a pregnancy. I stuck with ASAP's CrossFit program throughout my entire pregnancy and the coaches supported me to listen to my body, while providing modifications for any movement. Now I am 16 weeks postpartum and I am back in it, stronger than I thought I'd be. My ability to get back into running so quickly postpartum is also a testament to ASAP's program. Like many mamas, I am dealing with diastisis recti and my PT has encouraged me to continue ASAP's CrossFit program, as most movements allow me to continue to strengthen my body without exacerbating the problem. I highly recommend ASAP if you want to see improvement in your health and overall wellbeing.
