They've done work for me several times. A bit pricey but if you need expensive shoes repaired or other heavy duty sewing you can't go wrong

She honestly told me that the zipper would cost $15 and the price of the shoes brand new was around that price, maybe $20 total.

Just One thing is: he does not take debit or credit cards... just an FYI. So make sure you bring cash & bring a couple 20s with you before you enter. I think he also takes checks too. .. just a healthy warning unless if you bank at WinTrust. There is one bank a couple doors down that you can pull money from at the ATM beforehand.. you have to pay first before any work is done. We had to end up doing that. But no problem- we bank at WinTrust so we're okay... The owner said he can do it and give him a couple days to complete. Came back after about a week later and the soles of the shoes were done. It was a very good quality replacement, and his workmanship was pretty much straightforward. There was no blemishes or anything to our nature so: Overall, my wife was very happy with the the work involved. The quality of the replacement was better than the OEM on the shoe in my opinion. He was a little bit more expensive, but you get what you pay for. We'd go back for shoe repairs.. One star is just deducted because of the convenience of the cash issue in which we have no problem with. We do understand the theory behind it. It could've been that he was burned way too many times. So again we get it. However, from a customer standpoint inconvenience, it is a slight inconvenience for those who are not near a bank or don't carry cash around. But again: we get it and the service as well as the quality/workmanship is there, but the ability to work with credit or debit would put you at you at five stars. We would definitely come back again though, he did a really good job on the shoes. Thanks for the work!

See, most superheroes are like a working stiff in regular real, and abandon the briefcase for the cape. I go the other way. I leave my purple cape (fastened by a lipgloss glow ring) at home and become Courtgirl during the week. Except Courtgirl is the working stiff with the suit and the briefcase. If there's one thing that hippies and working stiffs alike had in common this week, it was battling the elements outside. The salty snowy slush affects everyone, especially shoes. Yes, shoes are people, too. I don't buy expensive clothes and shoes, so I was extra pissed when I scratched up my new Sofft ankle boots. They were out of my price range, but I got them anyway because I knew they would be great for running through the pedway to court. But of course, I precisely scratched them up and they had a strand of huge digs cut in the front toe. I found myself with fifteen minutes to spare between court calls and thought I would see what Ace could do for me. Everyday I round the corners of the pedway and see the sign "SHOE CLINIC" and I figured it was as good a time as any. I am amazed by the work they did on my courtshoes! The owner of the shop spread some thin glue in the flapping leather bits, then the guy Walter used this giant bin of black shoe polish to fix it a million times over. There were a bunch of applications of show cream and polish applied with varying brushes and rags. It was $9 including the shine. I have to say, it felt extremely strange to get a shoe shine, but I highly HIGHLY recommend it. It was almost as great as getting a pedicure. The way they work the cloth over my feet felt like a massage, right through the courtshoes! I read the paper that was kindly left on the way-raised-up seat and pretended I was a famous business man in a train station, and not a non-famous courtgirl in a pedway. danananana *bam* danananana *pow!* dananana *~!zap!~* ACE Show Clinic... to the rescue! ...and yeah I did get in trouble with pedway security for taking that pic. ...and yeah I did win my Motion that morning. ... and yeah everyone else's shoes were super slushy and unshined.
