Endlessly patient(even with a stop for feeding) - she spent many hours to help make sure she got all images we were hoping for (even with our pup!) I found this photographer to be difficult to communicate with. I booked a session for 3 on a Sunday…read morebecause it was the only one available, and then asked if I could switch to "closer to noon or after 3" if at all possible. She switched me to 2pm and then asked for a deposit. 2pm was actually worse for me, and I was then I was stuck being asked to pay for a time I didn't want. Is difficult to tell from my description, but from the context of our conversation one would assume that "closer to noon " meant 11:30 or 12:45, not incrementally closer to noon as interpreted by the photographer. I would have thought it more appropriate to check with me first before signing me up for a time I didn't want and expecting me to pay for it. I cancelled the session and Marta said that it was unfortunate and she would need to find someone to fill the spot. Then like a complete idiot, I sent her a deposit anyway via Venmo because I felt guilty. I thought maybe she would tell me it was ok that it was just a misunderstanding, but no, she took the deposit and didn't even say thank you. I later asked for it back, because I was feeling stupid for being so nice. She said something like it was cold that day and she had to sit in a car for 1.5 hours (which I don't think is relevant) and that it was too late , which it clearly was not, because I PAID THE DEPOSIT AFTER I HAD ALREADY CANCELED I'm a moron, which is a personal problem, but if you want to use this photographer make sure she understands you and you are communicating clearly, or you may be expected to pay for something you didn't ask for.

What bothers me the most is that paid extra to have to photos placed on a disc, and when I received the disc and viewed the photos, Alice's WATERMARK NAME WAS ON EVERY PHOTO. I was so disgusted that I had to spend HOURS cropping AND photoshopping the photos I PAID for just to remove her name. Some of the pictures where her name was placed made it virtually impossible to alter the picture :-( I, unfortunately, will never use Alice's services again.

She was incredibly responsive in emails, answered all my clueless and nit-picky questions in advance, and even helped us choose outfits for the family pictures (I sent her photos of the clothes we were thinking of wearing and she gave useful feedback). Her studio is warm and inviting and has a zero-stress setup for babies with a changing table, wipes, and even a nursing pillow for when I needed to breastfeed my son in the middle of the session. Her props and backgrounds are soft and minimalist and make for wonderfully classic baby photos. Shirly was also amazing at handling my baby and gently getting him into all sorts of positions while capturing his various expressions.
