We first met Sandra when she lived in San Francisco, and photographed our nieces as babies. We loved her pictures, and just wished that she could relocate to the east coast. . . As luck would have it, she moved to New York a few months before our son Max was born, and we decided to do her "one year later" package - 4 separate shoots chronicling the first year of Max's life. We have had 2 sessions already, and have been utterly thrilled with the results. Sandra has a gift far beyond taking amazing pictures. We had a wonderful experience with Sandra Reid as our wedding photographer. We were both thrilled with her friendly and relaxed demeanor, her professional manner, and (of course) the quality of the pictures she takes. My wife and I are rather gun-shy when it comes to having our pictures taken, but Sandra did a great job of putting us at ease. From our first phone call, to the last request for another back-up copy our engagement pictures, Sandra went totally above and beyond. She was always prompt, flexible, accommodating and professional. She even flew across the country to take our engagement pictures! Her pictures, of course, speak for themselves, but all of our friends and family have been tremendously impressed with the pictures Sandra took at our wedding. Several of them, I think, could have graced the pages of any fashion or wedding magazine (should they deign, of course, to let normal-looking people onto their pages...). After doing a lengthy online search for professional photographers who take baby photos in New York City we came across Sandra Reid's website and were instantly taken by the incredible shots of other babies she had posted to her website www.photosandrablog.com. Her bright, fun and unique shots were exactly the type we were looking for. We ultimately decided to contact her and arrange a date. Sandra was extremely easy to work with.. She was flexible in terms of arranging dates and times that worked best for us. She was also very helpful making sure that she understood exactly the style and type of photos we were interested in. She welcomed us into her studio which was very warm and inviting and did a great job making us feel instantly comfortable and at home. She was also wonderful with our daughter who is usually skeptical of strangers, reserving the biggest smiles for mom and dad. Amazingly, she was taken with Sandra at once and she was able to bring out some great smiles immediately. Shortly into the shoot we became very concerned when it became clear that our daughter was tired and fussy. We didn't think she was going to make it through the shoot but Sandra worked very efficiently and fast, allowing us breaks in between to feed and cheer up our child. Despite our best efforts,, our daughter wasn't in the smiling mood for a majority of the day; however, you would never know that based on the final result. Sandra must have captured every single smile she gave us and the end result was exactly what we were hoping for! We couldn't believe how smiley she looked in the end. I can not emphasize how happy we are with the results of our shoot. I got married in November 2010 which deems this review long overdue but I thought it necessary to express my true admiration and appreciation for the beautiful pictures that Sandra Reid was able to capture on the most important day of my life. I found Sandra on TheKnot.com while searching through photography vendors in the Boston area and was immediately drawn to her vintage/antique style of shooting that seemed romantic and ethereal. Though fairly new to the east coast as she had just moved across the country with her husband, I was convinced that she would add a fresh eye to an all-too-familiar town that had already been saturated with your cookie-cutter photographers. I was sold the day after meeting/speaking to her in person. Not only was she extremely friendly but she put in that added time and effort to understand us as a couple. How did we meet? How would you describe eachother using 5 adjectives? What's our sense of style - playful, classy, etc? She talked about her passion for photography with so much conviction that I knew I had made the right choice. Sandra photographed us for both our engagement shots as well as the day of the wedding. Because I could go on and on about why I loved working with Sandra, the output itself speaks louder than words. My wedding photos created a stir amongst my family/friends once they were posted - all positive reviews of course but hearing the cries of excitement from single women with no intentions of getting married to suddenly wanting to walk down the aisle after having seen my photos is extremely flattering. Thanks to my husband who already made me feel so very special but I have Sandra to thank for making me look like the beautiful bride that I always dreamed of being. Sandra is an amazing photographer. My family has hired Sandra for many years and we recently had the privledge of working with her as our wedding photographer. We did our engagement shoot in NY where she did a wonderful job of making us look great despite freezing temperatures. Our wedding was the opposite extreme but you'd never know we were melting in the 106 degree weather when looking at our photos. Sandra does an amazing job capturing the essence of each person and each special moment. She makes you feel instantly at ease and her photos reflect her subjects comfort. Sandra photographed our baby at about 2 1/2 months and several things were clear from our photo session with her. Firstly, she LOVES her job and clearly puts love and passion into the photos that she takes. (This also makes it a very fun experience to have a photo session with her!) Secondly, she comes prepared with ideas and experience but is also open to any ideas that you have...she's willing to try new things. Thirdly, she works quickly and efficiently; she had our photos to us just a few days after the shoot. We love the photos Sandra took of our daughter and will cherish them for a long time to come.
