Her attention to detail before, during and after the trip was unparalleled and she saw to it that things ran seamlessly. The itinerary was planned with care and consideration of our preferences and the hotels, excursions and even connections were arranged with us and our desires in mind. Short version: NJ Transit Asbury Park station may not be the most up to date facility, but it gets…read morethe job done. It gives all the basics needed for train travel, but could use an update hopefully in the future. Definitely not bad, it handles its purpose well for the most part. The Deets: I spend quite a few weekends in Asbury Park now. Two of main ways to get there besides driving from "the city" is either by ferry or train, and of course the NJ Transit train is both less expensive of the two and gets you right to the center of town. This part brings me to the subject of my review today, the NJ Transit Asbury Park station. Mainly, it does the job and is adequate. Yes, it may be a bit dated (OK quite a bit dated) and not in that old classic nostalgic type of way. But it has a pretty spacious waiting area inside where you can shelter from the cold/heat, a dedicated ticket office, bathrooms, etc. It even has a little snack area available when open, which is a modest simple little corner you can order and get refreshments while you wait on your train. The station seems to have limited hours for accessing the inside on weekends, just a heads up on that one. The AP station is not bad however it definitely could do with a facelift and some TLC, but it handles a customer's needs adequately. He goes ABOVE AND BEYOND what he needs to do. He plans the air, airline seats, last minute changes, cruise arrangements around Norway and Amsterdam. He then arranged for us to take a transfer to the Thalys (train) to Paris. We did the Eiffel Tower, The Louvre tours as well as sight seeing. On top of that he arranged the transportation to Disney Euro in Paris where we stayed another 4 days and obtained park passes which he managed as well. I can't say enough on how personal and professional Dave is - please use him as you wont have to research anything or arrange as he is a one-stop shopping. We will use again and again and again. And I'm a partier so I'm usually unbothered by a little noise. if IM complaining about noise that's a bad sign. Aside from that the rooms aren't very welcoming. The uncarpeted floors have a cold vibe and the old air conditioner from the 80s sounded like it was on its last leg. The price of the room is that of a 5 star hotel and the lobby and event spaces are amazing. But the hotel rooms themselves feel like a 2 star hotel unfortunately. Really needs an update. The bed was comfortable but the furniture, the noise, and the old AC system were surprisingly low effort. I wouldn't stay here again unless I absolutely had to due to proximity to their event space.
