This is a great hotel with excellent staff and the North Suite was a highlight despite some quirks. We stayed at The Oyster Point Hotel over Christmas while visiting family and had a very positive overall experience, even with a few hiccups along the way. The front desk staff was professional and courteous. One young man was clearly in training, and the young woman guiding him was extremely knowledgeable and polite which to me was a great example of mentorship done right. Unfortunately, our original room had a heater that was rattling loudly and had pooled water on top of it, which I recorded and showed to the front desk. To their credit, maintenance responded quickly, and the technician was friendly, professional, and even helped move my luggage. He brought us keys to a new room, and the front desk upgraded us to the North Suite, which was an incredibly thoughtful gesture. The North Suite was fantastic with a large space with a massive balcony and beautiful views, along with a comfortable seating area outside. Sadly, due to the season, it was too cold to enjoy the balcony, but we appreciated the feature. That said, the suite wasn't perfect: The shower area was oddly dark, with little lighting. There was no air vent in the bathroom, which seemed unusual. The sink was smaller than the one in the standard suite. Neither of the two TVs worked, though I didn't want to complain during the stay and just mentioned it at checkout. The bathroom door didn't latch, which was a minor but noticeable issue. The smoke detector is missing from the ceiling, which gave me pause. Despite those flaws, the service and staff stood out. I witnessed two bar employees being rudely berated by guests over late food (which obviously wasn't their fault), and they handled the situation with professionalism and calm. I was so impressed by their professionalism under pressure (and so thoroughly disgusted by that table of senior citizens who should know better than to act that way) that I tipped each of them $50 each on top of our drink tab to make up for how poorly they were treated. Speaking of which, the bar area is a wonderful little spot, with friendly staff and the occasional live music, making it a fun place to unwind without leaving the hotel. The cocktails are excellent as well. This hotel has long been our go-to when in town, and while there were a few issues this time, the staff's attentiveness and care truly made the experience special. We're already looking forward to our return in 2026. TIP: Be mindful of where you park! The handicap parking is limited, and one of the spaces is under a tree that's heavily populated with birds. Our car was completely covered in bird droppings. I mean absolutely covered. Avoid that spot if you can. read more

The restaurant downstairs was next level--seriously some of the best food I've had in a long time. The room was spotless, comfortable, and really well done. I went for an overnight with my girls to get away for a day. I booked the Pyster Point Hotel because of the beautiful view, fitness center, and room service. We would have liked an indoor pool, which they didn't have, but that was an oversight by me for not checking. I really wanted to love this hotel, but didn't. For the positives, the staff is wonderful. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the view is just beautiful. Check in is after 3pm, but they were able to accommodate an early check in, which was appreciated. The rooms are pretty small and a bit outdated. The hotel definitely use some TLC. The bathrooms are also quite small and cramped feeling. They do have the tiny. shampoo, conditioner, soup etc, where I'd normally prefer the larger containers that are usually installed in hotel bathrooms. The heat / ac in the room is mounted by the wall and pretty loud when turned on. There also isn't much to do at this location, no game room, pool table etc. In addition to the rooms being small, you can either get a king size bed which would have been tight for the 3 of us, or two doubles. They do not have double queens, which would have been more comfortable, only two doubles. There are no pull out couches, but you can request a rollaway which is twin size, and they gladly would have brought one in for us. The drawers were a bit broken, hard to open and close. The TV was small and on the older side. I booked the River Double ~ which is only $10 more than the Deluxe Double, and has an amazing view of the Navesink River. I bought the winter escape package which for an additional $96 includes a three course dinner for 2 in their dining room. What I failed to understand is that the Winter Escape Package includes a limited menu of what you can select from. I already knew that I would need to add to this package as there were 3 of us, however, I hadn't realized how limited the options on this package would be (it's not their full menu) and ended up adding a lot more so that we could each order what we wanted to eat. Again, the servers and service was wonderful, and the restaurant was very uncrowded for a Saturday night. The food was quite good. Another disappointment was that roomservice is only until 7 or 8pm, though you can still order food to go until 9pm and at 8:30pm they did offer to either deliver the food or let me pick it up. Normally places we have stayed if they offered room service it's until at least 11pm on a weekend. The only thing I did notice is that when I put the food outside after eating, it was still there when we left the hotel at 11am. The fitness center is in a very odd location, 2nd floor then down half a flight of stairs. I would never have been able to find it without assistance. We were there only ones in the fitness room. It does have one small old shower and a bathroom, however the bathroom did not have any soap to wash your hands. They do offer complimentary muffins and coffee in the lobby in the morning. We were excited to try breakfast, which opens at 8am, however we waited for a while and when I realized nobody was seating us, I asked the front desk and they had problems with the pipes / maintenance and did not know when or if the kitchen would be back up, so we ended up getting Ubet Eats for breakfast. Check out is at 11am, however as I attempted to bring our things to the car at 10am, our key for some reason was disabled. I went to the front desk and was given a new key, which also did not work. There were some birthdays and events while we were there, and looked beautiful. I definitely would consider hosting an event here, if booking a room for 3, I'd probably consider getting adjoining room for the space. Today I had lunch at the restaurant in the Oyster Point Hotel. Very nice venue with a cozy type atmosphere and if you go ask for an outdoor table if available. My appetizer was a half dozen blue point oysters broiled on the half shell with garlic and herb butter and they were delicious. My entree was an order of fish and chips. I think the fish was halibut and was cooked to perfection, fried in a light oil with some killer French fries with a side of coleslaw. So lunch for two was about $90 plus a tip, not cheap but for me it's an old story, nothing really good is cheap and for quality food I don't mind paying for my pleasures. Great place to to on a date! I understand this hotel is a business, but I do wish companies remembered to show some humanity over corporate policy. I booked a room as part of a wedding block. And the day of the wedding, my husband and I both woke up with very sick with COVID. (Lucky us). We obviously couldn't go to the wedding so I had to call and cancel the room. Since you have to cancel 48 hours in advance, they couldn't refund me any money. I asked for a credit for a future stay and they said no. Again, I understand it's policy but this was part of a wedding block so obviously my intention was to be there. Nothing like being too sick to move off the floor while the lady over the phone just says "it's policy" over and over. The world is dark lately, it would be nice if everyone was a bit kinder with one another. read more

When you walk in there is a beautiful area with vases of flowers. They had an adorable turtle bell to use if no one is at the front desk. When we arrived, the hotel was packed. They had two bridal showers going on and an engagement party. We checked in, and our room was on the 5th floor. This hotel has a fabulous view, of the water for most of there rooms. We had a king size room, which had the view of the lake. They also have a nice restaurant on the premises and a full bar with live music. We had a group of us renting rooms for the night, because we were going to a show close by. Impeccable Cleanliness and Maintenance: "Rooms were spotless, and the facilities were well-maintained." "The hotel's cleanliness surpassed my expectations." Comfortable Accommodations: "King size bed was exceptionally comfortable." "Rooms were a nice size, the restroom were small. They offer free valet parking, which you'll need if you show up during events. Losing a star for lack of parking spots and surprisingly for the bar to be closed when we got back to hotel at 10pm on a Saturday from our show. We all thought we were going to have a few drinks to end our evening. Especially on a weekend evening. They do offer free coffee and tea in the main lobby in the morning. read more

We had a party of 12 on a Sunday evening with one other table in the restaurant. The Meals came out 2 at a time , it's short some people were done with their meal or didn't want to eat it before the last person even was served . I would say 30 minutes from first meal to last. The food was Not prepared well!!!! The veggies raw. The entrees loaded with salt. They served pork instead of chicken as ordered to a woman who keeps a kosher lifestyle serving it saying here is the chicken on the bone.. Just imagine if this was an allergy situation it could have been a physical disaster, not a moral disaster, still either way there is no respect! . I called the manager. He should no remorse. No apologies. I did use an explicit word in my frustration and that's all he can focus on . The restaurant manager unprofessional did not take responsibility for his subpar food did not take responsibility for his staff , left 2 young adults in charge of a restaurant with no management on the premises . I have hosted events in the past there and I've had dinner there and they've been successful but after this experience with nobody taking responsibility for a terrible evening, I will not go back and I would not suggest anyone to go there.. read more

This review is based on The Pearl, which is the restaurant and bar at the Oyster Point. The Pearl has a beautiful view of the river and a notable happy hour menu as well. (Monday - Friday from 4-6.) at times, they also have live music upstairs too! I highly recommend sitting on their outdoor like patio, for an excellent view and ambiance. I've never officially needed a reservation here, but they do take reservations, so I'd recommend making one on nicer days. Their food and service is always fantastic. (We really love the bartender, JP, who is infamous for making us fun, mixed drinks, based on our preferences!) i also enjoy that you can have a tequila flight here, with a generous pour. In terms of food, my husband really enjoys the short rib or scallop and shrimp meal. The lobster bisque soup is also large and a family favorite. The only thing I had here that I did not love, was the kale dumplings, as I found them to be a little dry and lacking flavor. The only downside is if there is a wedding or event upstairs, at times, the bar area can get crowded with guests, depending on the timing. Everything is outdated the carpets were stained all over the place. The bathrooms were bla . I felt the air-conditioning in the room wasn't working that great. I took the two vents out there had to be at least 2 inches of dust on them. I washed them out in the bathtub it was disgusting. If you're looking for a top-notch location for a bridal shower, I highly recommend the Oyster Point Hotel in Red Bank, NJ. The service, food, and location are all outstanding, and the prices are very reasonable compared to other venues in the area. The hotel's location overlooking the beautiful Navasink River is simply breathtaking. And, it's conveniently located for guests in Monmouth County and not far from the Parkway. We booked the Palm Room (A, B, C) for our roughly 40 guests, and it was the perfect size for our party. The valet parking was very convenient for our guests, and the staff was attentive throughout the entire process. We ordered the Sangria bowl, which was a big hit, and were able to bring our own cupcake/cakes and set up a table for decorations. The cookie favors were from The Cookie House in Manalapan, and I would also highly recommend them. The plated lunch options we chose were the grilled salmon and a chicken dish, both of which were excellent. The staff was so nice and friendly to me and my guests the entire day, and they really helped make my bridal shower amazing and unforgettable. Very disappointing...drove 2 1/2 hours to eat here. Came for Sunday brunch. Menu was different than one they had posted on their website only a few day earlier so missed out on one of the items that we had selected them for. Burger ordered medium, came well and was dry. Shrimp po boy had 4 shrimp, a third of the bread only had lettuce and tomato in it. Works out t o $5 a shrimp. Bread just ok, not po boy style. Service lacking. Asked a waiter t o have the burger sliced in half. Ten minutes later still had not returned. A minute after that, same waiter came back and asked if "we were ready for our burger". This hotel is in a great location within walking distance to the center of town & Count Basie theatre. We lucked out with our room - was on the top floor with a view of the river - so nice! Room was perfect for us and had a refrigerator. Bed was comfortable and the bathroom counter was nice & large. Room was clean and we had no issues with staying there. Parking is tough if there are events going on but they do have a valet during those times. We also enjoyed drinks at the bar. Front desk people were cordial. I booked two nights at this hotel through a third-party website that the hotel promotes, and also paid an additional $58.53 for reservation protection, thinking I could change the reservation without incurring excessive charges. I called to cancel the reservation 12 hours later because of unforeseen circumstances, but I was still charged over $500 for a room we never set foot in. The hotel staff told me that they could do nothing because I reserved it online through a 3rd party, yet they list their rooms through this third party, which provides reservation protection that does nothing to give any flexibility with reservations. I would be fine with paying for one night, but being charged for both nights is absurd. These hotels need to have more accountability in their outsourcing of bookings. So, yes, I would not recommend Oyster Point because it takes no responsibility for its own bookings or customer service. read more

I lived in Monmouth County for the first 24 years of my life. And in Red Bank for the last two of those years. I was familiar with Oyster Point, and I had driven past it like a million times. I'd stayed at its sister hotel, Molly Pitcher, before, so when many trips and events were canceled due to COVID, I treated my husband to an overnight to Red Bank at Oyster Point. The COVID protocols were solid. Temp checks at the door. "Sneeze guards" were up at the front desk. Disinfecting Protocols were listed out. I got a riverside view room, which was nice around sunset. However the room faces East, and well, you get a nice wake up call from the sun (Blinds were not, in fact, room darkening). If you're okay with waking up that way, go for it. But it would make my decision easier to not stay on the river side. The hotel itself could use an update. It looks more modern, especially compared to its sister hotel, but the rooms need more outlets (hello, first world problems, but could barely find an outlet to charge our phones!). The showers left a lot to be desired. Water pressure wasn't great. The toiletries were nice though! There is a mini fridge to store your snacks or drinks. I could not find a room service menu, which was annoying because I really wanted to be waited on haha. I know I could've called the front desk, but we were only there one night, and we just got some jersey bagels instead. And if you're a Mets fan...don't expect to watch your games here! Only YES Network available, not SNY. Had to stream on our phones, and the WiFi here is...not so "great." If you decide to stay in Red Bank, I'd suggest staying closer to the main roads (for us NYC walkers, it gets VERY dark in this area, virtually no lighting), and Molly Pitcher would be more desirable in that case. read more

Upon pulling up, it seems as though this place is out of the 80s and could stand a good upgrade. Had very low expectations for what to find inside.. But.. was pleasantly surprised once I entered.. very sparkly, light, airy, and modern looking. From what I understand, had been recently upgraded. The bar area was very nice with a beautiful view of the harbor. Too bad it was foggy, but we could still imagine! I visited this venue for a wedding tasting.. Bill, the event coordinator, was friendly, had a good sense of humor, and very accommodating. During a tour of the wedding party suite, the rooms seemed a little worn down... a little cleaning wouldn't hurt.. walls a little scuffed, furniture seemed a bit dirty. I probably wouldn't stay unless necessary (but I'm a hotel snob!) We couldn't see the actual room where the wedding will take place because they had an event going on... I probably would have ensured that this area was available during a wedding party tour, but.... we were pleasantly surprised to find that all carpet and fixtures would be new by the time to October wedding comes. That's great to know! As for the tasting, Natalie was a great server and makes a WONDERFUL sangria!! Wonderfully tasty. Food was tasty... many different options for the wedding. Our Valentine's Day was spectacular thanks to the staff and chef at the Pearl Restaurant in the Oyster Point hotel. The four courses including butternut squash salad over arugula, brie bites, shrimp cocktail, crab cakes, filet mignon, swordfish with clams, strawberry cake and chocolate cake were all perfection. Our server was very attentive and friendly. We were not rushed through the meal so we enjoyed a long, lovely evening. I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant. I'd never stayed at the Oyster Point Hotel before, nor will I again. Booked two rooms for one night before a business event at Bell Works--a single for myself and a suite for one of my speakers and his wife. At check-in, I asked the young woman at the front desk to book me a taxi for 7 am the next morning and to add the speaker and his wife's name to the $650 suite. She told me that the taxi wouldn't take reservations and wrote their number down for me to call, then asked me to write down the names for the suite, which I did. I went up to my room, and while making the advance taxi reservation, which of course the taxi company took, I noticed the air conditioner was much too loud to sleep, and then the closet door fell off in my hand when I tried to open it. Maintenance took the cover off the air conditioner for the rest of my stay to stop the noise and put the door back on. At 4 am the day of my major event, I wake up to a frantic 12:30 am email from my speaker's wife. She and her husband were at the front desk, and were told they didn't have a room. I flew downstairs to find out that they had ultimately gotten a room, but not without great fear first of being stuck in a strange city with nowhere to sleep with a speaking engagement in 7 hours. I talked to management after checkout, and they said they were comping both rooms, but only comped a quarter of my total bill, a response not commensurate with the terrible experience at a hotel, which for the price, should have done WAY better. And, they own the Molly Pitcher in Red Bank also, so beware! read more

As the saying goes, 'location, location, location', and The Oyster Point Hotel certainly has that. Located along the estuary and close to a wide range of shops and restaurants, it has a lot to recommend it, Unfortunately, the devil is in the details and for an establishment that tries for Boutique status, it falls short. In our View Room, overlooking the water, there were bare hooks on the wall where artwork had been removed. The stopper in the bathtub did not work. The safe in the room did not work. The walls were so thin that we could clearly understand a casual conversation in the neighboring room. The staff was extremely enthusiastic and friendly, but other than sympathy, they could do nothing about the room's failings. I should add that the hotel restaurant, The Pearl, which is reviewed separately, was quite nice. So, overall, a stay that could have been a joy turned out to be...adequate. read more

The place books parties all day weddings all night it's loud the party rooms are hot. They need to do some thing with the air conditioning system. There's only one bathroom for like three or four parties going on my suggestion is come here during the week when it's not busy and check it out for yourself. We came in on Friday night for date night. There was no one at the host stand so we went up to the bar and waited a few minutes to be seated outside on the deck. The deck is beautiful even on an overcast night. The restaurant seemed very understaffed and we asked for another minute after we got our drinks. Unfortunately that minute turned into about 10-15 minutes but it's okay we were enjoying the margarita and sangria we ordered. Side note: both drinks were very good. We had asked about the Tagliatelle Pasta being in red or white sauce due to a tomato allergy and waitress said it's in a white sauce and would be a good choice. My girlfriend went with that and I ordered the Spicy Lobster Pasta. While waiting for our food I ordered a Sam Summer off their beer menu... they don't have any because they didn't reorder yet.... so why is it on the menu? I then went with a Blue Moon and guess what? Out of that too! It's summer, where are the summer beers? Food came out and yes the Tagliatelle Pasta was indeed in a white sauce, but there were tons of tomatoes in the dish so she took it back, apologized and said it shouldn't take long for chef to make another one. Well, fast forward a solid 15-20 minutes and I'm now done with my average meal and a little upset her food hasn't come yet so I just tell them to forget it. She offered to wrap it up but I declined, major disappointment. They did comp the whole meal which was appreciated so we left her a tip because we felt bad and should have at least been charged for our drinks. Not sure we will be returning for anything more than a drink with a nice view. I'm known to be a bit picky about hotels and have a chain I prefer. However, I was here for an event so stayed at this hotel. I have to say, I was very pleased. It was very clean. Had a nice ambiance. The views from the room were incredible. I had lunch in the restaurant - crab cakes and a salad - delicious. I do want to call out one staff member who's name I did not catch. I arrived early (around 11am) on Wed 1/22 and hoped to check-in early - sometimes possible, sometimes not. The woman working the front desk informed me they had been sold out the night before and didn't have rooms available yet but she would let me know as soon as one became available. She could've called or texted me but knew I was in the restaurant. She came straight to me in person as soon as a room was available. I've noticed reviews commenting on the staff needing more training or experience. Well, this is them getting it. I noticed much of the staff is young and they are likely still learning. But I had a very pleasant encounter with every staff member I engaged. I think some people need to remember what it's like to just be getting started in the workforce. read more

My advice, consider another restaurant first! o - We had a 2 HOUR WAIT FOR OUR FOOD! There were empty tables as well o - The restaurant was so cold that people were waring coats in the dining room. Outside temperatures were in the 40s. o - The entertainment had electronically amplified instruments and we could barely talk to each other located far from the band! There is no sound dampening walls, floor or seating to absorb echo's. If the kitchen staff is not capable of handling the size of the dining room why not remove tables and not overbook the place? We stopped at the Oyster Point for drinks on a quiet Monday night. There were a few people at the lovely bar, a classy and sophisticated place for a cocktail. I loved this place, and thought it would be cool to return and stay overnight. The Oyster Point was more Cape Cod than Jersey Shore, but the "Shore" surprises me everyday. I guess the gentrification is over, and the Jersey Shore is now known, but there's still time to discover gems like the Oyster Point Hotel. read more

Checked in with 2 friends for a one night stay in Red Bank. Check - in was easy. The hotel appeared clean until a bed bug crawled out of one of the tucked bed sheets. Front desk did not seem surprised & or concerned, they offered another room which was NOT acceptable. At 11:00 PM, my friends & I left the hotel & ended up driving home. I was told management would contact me the next morning & by 10 AM I had not heard from anyone so I called the hotel & was told it could have been an ant. Further investigation would be necessary & the manager would not even speak with me. Shame on you Oyster Point!!! 6 days later & still I have not heard from anyone. read more

When you come to a quality property you expect quality food. Not the case with this chef. Staff is terrific and accommodating. 5 stars. Dinners have been marginal. I have been here for 8 days eating at the restaurant 7. Kind of only choice doing covid. Chef needs to put passion in the cooking, presentation is great , fails in flavor. read more
