Captain Larry handed each of us a Hawaiian Leis as we boarded. It was so unique sitting at a floating bar with our adult beverages & snacks as we slowly cruised in and out of different parts of the bay. Weather was perfect. Captain Larry is Da Man! I ordered a Diet Coke, a Bloody Mary, and the shrimp quesadilla with sour cream and salsa on the side although they don't have guacamole. The food was really good, and they are one of the few places that have a gluten-free option for quesadillas. The food was really good too, and I loved the drinks. I also loved the chairs by the pool, and I was relaxed most of the time. The only things that I have in mind regarding the pool regard some members of the staff. I noticed at one point that one of the lifeguards wasn't paying attention to his section of the pool when two boys were roughhousing in the water. He was either looking away or talking to someone else which was dangerous to pool guests. There was also a time when all members were kicked out of the pool area because of preparation for a picnic event. I understood that they needed time to prepare, but they didn't have to kick everyone out so soon and there was a woman with a clipboard who was short and rude with guests and members who were paying to be there. One of the guests had even filed a formal complaint, and I could see that it was a mess. Although it was a not-so-great experience, I know that the club is pretty great for the most part and this only happens once in a blue moon.

During our boat ride out to see the whales, we saw fisherman and many beautiful beachfront homes. Also, Melissa explained about the other sea life in the area. She was open to questions. It was finally close to 3 PM, before we saw approximately 7 whales. It's little tricky to photograph the whales, as the waters were choppy. (Plus, you don't want to lose your phone). Just a suggestion for upcoming visitors: Food is sold upon the boat. However, I would recommend bringing your own snacks. The pretzel we had was just fair. Also, plan on dressing in warm layers and bring gloves. It was cold! Overall, we had a spectacular time see these wonderful whales. Got back to the area across from Jenkinsons around 845 and idled until the fireworks display, which was okay but partially blocked by a building. Not sure why the captain chose to park the boat there knowing that some folks would have an obstructed view. Parking is a bit problematic as you are blocked in by other cars, and there is no one to irect traffic out of the small lot when it's over. Overpriced but all in all not a bad evening at the shore.

Since the venue is…read morefairly far south in New Jersey, it would have been difficult to make it back to New York City after the reception, so I stayed locally for the night. The venue itself is large, modern, and seemed relatively new. They also offer lodging onsite, though I did not stay there. The ceremony took place in a large chapel space on the lower level, with windows overlooking the water and nearby boats, which created a really nice backdrop. The main floor was divided into two large spaces. One side held the cocktail hour, featuring a large bar and numerous food stations spread throughout the room. On the other side was the reception ballroom, which had multiple bars, a large dance floor, huge crystal chandeliers, and expansive windows overlooking the water. The overall design felt very airy and open, with lots of white and light wood finishes, clean carpeting, and spacious layouts throughout the venue. The food was enjoyable, and there were some fun touches during cocktail hour and the reception, including a bacon station and a roaming coffee liqueur cart. The staff was also excellent throughout the evening, friendly, attentive, and well organized. Overall, this was a lovey waterfront wedding venue,l (Manasquan River) and I would definitely recommend it for anyone considering a wedding or large event in the area.

There were a few dogs enjoying the gorgeous summer day and, for the first time, Brie met another morkie-poo! She also met a golden doodle that looked like her twin, only 5 times her size!
