I suffered with nerve pain running down both of my legs constantly and severe back pain for 9.5 years before going to the disc institute. I started treatments Oct 2017 and finished the treatments in Feb 2018. I started to notice improvement in my pain approx half way through the treatments and by the end of the treatments I noticed a significant decrease in both the nerve pain and back pain! Dr Manella told me that my discs would continue to heal for 6 months to a year. I am now 6 months post treatments and I have NEVER felt better! I have been working with my pain doctor to get off the 3 medications I had to take previously to control my pain. I am completely off 1 nerve pain medication and I am taking 2/3 less pain medication and still working to get off it completely! I have NO PAIN and I continue to notice improvement! I can't tell you how happy I am with Dr Manella and the Disc Institute! They gave me my life back and I am forever grateful for that!!!!!

My nurse Nelson was an exceptional delight! Usually it takes nurses a few tries to find a good vein for a blood draw/IV but he did it on the first try. Surgery itself was only about 30 minutes. My boyfriend was well informed during the entire process. There was a snack area and TV in the waiting area.

During my ultrasound in October, the computer was left on and open when the technician left the room where I could see the other patients' information, so that's a HIPAA violation right there. 2. The consent process on January 21st was not thorough and was rushed. I work in clinical research so I know exactly how it should be done. The consent form was very briefly explained to me and then I was asked for my signatures without even seeing the actual document. I had to ask to read the full consent form for myself. The staff member who consented me acted and confused and like I was taking up her time. Once I fully read through the consent and signed, I asked for a copy of the completed document to be sent to me, which was never done, until I had to ask for it again. 3. I was supposed to receive my second treatment on February 24, but I was suddenly told by MCV that my insurance required a redo of the ultrasound before we could proceed. I trusted their word and expertise and came in to do the second ultrasound. I really started seeing red flags when I got a call on March 20th, again only a couple days before my rescheduled procedure, saying that they were still waiting on approval for my insurance and would have to reschedule it a second time. I talked with several people through my insurance, who read thoroughly through the policy. I also spoke with a nurse representative through my insurance to confirm that they never requested a second ultrasound. Still on March 20th, I get a second call from a different person in Metro Vein Center saying to disregard their first call without any explanation. I'm finally able to get ahold of a patient care representative who has no idea what is going on and keeps saying that they thought my insurance changed when it's literally been the same for the past four years. I call again and talk to a different person who is unable to get in touch with the Macomb location because it actually closed at 2 PM when the first lady said it closed at 3 PM and the website says it closed at 6 PM. 4. Why do I get the feeling that I am being lied to, and they are avoiding my questions and concerns? Do they have an issue with my insurance and are taking it out on me? Regardless of what is going on, something definitely feels fishy, and I deserve an explanation from a single person rather than talking to somebody different each time I call. I'm exhausted, in pain, and tired of getting the runaround, and no I am not going to email patientexperience@metroveincenters.com. I expect a call. You guys have access to my contact information which hopefully did not get leaked or anything like that, but at this point, my trust and patience are running very thin. Now it seems like they can't get their story straight. After my first treatment, I went back to get an ultrasound to make sure the veins were closed properly. Then the manager at the Macomb location said this was actually done due to "patient concern"?? (this is not true) Then she reverted her previous statement and said what I originally thought which was confirming the procedure closed the vein. I have been asking the same questions several times and have yet to get a direct answer. The team at the Macomb office says I will hear from the authorization department, but I haven't heard anything from anyone despite trying to follow up with her multiple times. I get the feeling that they are more concerned with money and scheduling appointments than the actual patients' concerns, and well-being...

I am pleased to know and use 4 different locations out of 6 for my wellness or feeling under the weather office visits. On January 5, 2026 I had a sinus infection that needed attention plus was given a antibiotic in the end of my appointment with Dr. P. Patel. He is one of the many doctors in this medical group. My regular doctor Jennifer Hichme and Kristina Batkins were unavailable when I urgently called here. The Staff at the appointment desk was kind enough to fit Me in with him and I was glad to be taken care of in a kind and attentive plus responsive way. High Fives to the staff here at this office in the Corewell Health Medical Building On Hall Rd and Tilch. The lobby is small but I wore a mask since I was ill and others were sitting half in a wellness area and half in illness section of chairs. This location also has a blood work lab that is only by appointment. I was taking care of after a 15 minute wait since I was early for the time of my appointment. The nurse to complete my vitals and short conversation was very kind and pleasant with her job. Dr. Patel was considerate, helpful with my questions plus knowledgeable to my previous health condition and surgery back in September 2025. He was careful to prescribe Me a medication for the sinus infection that would not interact with my new meds, so I appreciated that concern and attention. Like the other Silver Pine locations, the office experience, care of quality, and type of care was caring and concerning. I connected with my Corewell Health Portal the next day to read his notes about my illness appointment and results. My prescription was sent to my pharmacy after I left this office and was ready in less than 30 minutes. I am glad to have this location available and close to My Home in Macomb when I need to see My 1 of 2 doctors based on their schedule and appointments open here. The Physicians here are advanced and can vaccinate with flu or COVID shots and treat a patient with respect. My 5 stars are true based on my visits in the Silver Pine Medical Group.
