I ordered hearing aids 4 years ago with them and they were great - I still had to pay $1,000 out of pocket above my company reimbursement. I went back this year and asked that they stay within my company's plans, and they said they had 0 options for me with my hearing loss. Wanted me to buy $4,000+ hearing aids -no thank you. I went to AOC really close by and they were AMAZING - have great hearing aids with everything I wanted - all within my budget. Do your research before overpaying. read more

I have been going here for about 3 years. Appreciate they can help but moving in from out of state they charged $300 fee t bring in an outside hearing aid. No real issues after that other than feeling pressured to upgrade my hearing aids from the Starkeys I have. Then I went in because I thought the plastic wax guard was stuck inside. They took it from me and asked if I had my other one, I did , and they took that one too. Came back in and my one seemed to be fixed. I had scheduled to come back later this month for the hearing exam and get the new Starkeys. Well, today I got the bill. They billed my insurance 3555.00. A discount for insurance of 2013.43 but then 76.71 for EACH of my hearing aids repair or modification (didn't know he was doing anything to my right one!), an office visit charge 65.65, and physician bill of 1322.50. I now owe 1541.57 all because I asked them to look and see if the plastic ear guard was stuck. Now I certainly can't afford my new hearing aids and... that left hearing aid stopped working after a week. I took of the rubber ear plug and didn't see they had done anything. Doesn't look like a wax guard is in there at all anyway. I sit here crying. I work 2 jobs and cant hear out of my left ear still and cant afford new hearing aids now. Hard to take off work to go there and lost money trying to get help. Great care is worth paying for but honestly, this is ridiculous when all I asked them to do look at it and see if the wax guard was stuck and it still isn't fixed anyway. I also want to add- I really like this office, I do. But one other thing, I scheduled my appointment and got a call back from the office. I called the office back and the lady said it was probably just a call confirming my appt for the next day. When I got to the office, it turns out a balance was owed and they didn't want me to be surprised when I came in. I was a little off guard. read more

I don't normally write reviews. Especially not like this one. However my heart goes out to the people (mostly seniors) that I have seen as customers at the business. I would stay far away from this company. They have shown to be either fraudulent or totally unethical. When I had my first appointment Dr Wahl was adamant that I needed the Starkly brand) after doing research I learned that the Oticon were a better fit for my needs. I ordered hearing aids (oticon) Dr Wahl and I agreed he would submit the order for the top-tier. When I got my receipt it had the lower tier on the receipt. When I brought it to their attention, I was told it would take a few days to get the correct receipt. The day I was supposed to pick them up they told me there was a mistake and I would have to wait until the next Wednesday which was 9/3/25. I went to pick my hearing aids up and Dr Wahl actually took 2 of the little tools and set them aside and was going to keep them. He stated "those are more for him than me ". I asked him to put them back. As I was driving home (with my new hearing aids in. I noticed that the air conditioner in my car was extremely loud. (Background noise). Which is one of the downsides to the lower tier hearing aids, and because I have tinnitus I needed the top-tier. Moving forward when I got home the air conditioning in My Home was extremely loud to the point to where I could not keep the hearing aids in. At this time, I did some research and started looking at the hearing aids. I noticed that on the hearing aids, the description was the name of the lower tier hearing aids. However, on the receipt, the name, the description name on the receipt was for the top-tier hearing aids, and the serial number on the receipt was for the lower to your hearing aids. I also noticed that on the first receipt I got when I purchased the hearing aids. The description is the top-tier hearing aids And the billing code is for a totally different hearing aid. Now, when I first met Dr. Wahl, he bragged about how long he had been there and that it was a family owned company. So I was initially confident that he knew what he was doing. From my experience evidence shows that they're either pulling some sort of fraudulent scam or something because from the time I had to correct them and have them put the top-tier hearing aid on my first initial order receipt. And then the two other receipts with the discrepancies of the billing code and the serial numbers not matching the top-tier hearing aids I put a fraudulent claim in with my health insurance. Again, my heart goes out to individuals that aren't paying attention, especially our seniors that go in there trusting that this is a safe place and that they are not going to be taken advantage of and that just don't do the research. The effects that I had from getting the Lower to your hearing aids how it affected my hearing with my tinnitus was torturous. And so Dr. Wahl called me back and left a voicemail stating that I was correct and they were going to fix it. It was just a clerical error. I don't believe it, why because the clerical error was brought to their attention when I first pointed out that they told me we were ordering a top-tier, but the receipt said the lower tier. One would think that with all the experience he says he has it would've been fixed the first time. AND as a professional when he was putting in the batteries in my hearing aid, you would think he would check the little small writing of the description of the hearing aid, which clearly had the label of the lower tier hearing aid. Are you telling me that A supposedly experienced Audiologist would miss that ? So where is the discrepancy ? I believe they didn't think they were gonna get caught. I believe they've been doing this for some time and because of the demographics of the people that they serve it hasn't been brought to their attention. !!! Stay away from this company.!!! If your parents are going here for hearing aids, I would encourage you to check the receipts. Make sure they're getting what they're paying for and they're the proper hearing aids for their hearing needs Because from my experience, Dr. Wahl pushes the Starley, which may not fit everybody's hearing need.!! he's probably getting a commission or something for selling those. One more thing I have also experience that if they want to change your appointment time, they're just gonna send you an email saying this is your new time without you confirming that you can even change the time. Which at the end of the day could cause a lot of stress for people.!! Bad business all the way around I don't care how long they've been in business. It's unethical and causes a lot of stress, which is something we don't need these days. Please find another audiologist.!! Stay away!!! read more

Be extremely careful when dealing with this group! Verified with Medicare supplement that I did not have hearing insurance, however I was transferred to AARP Hearing which provided a referral to this group for a free audiology exam and reduced prices for hearing aids - that's where the customer service fell off the cliff. Waited a week to get in for an appointment. When I showed up they immediately wanted to collect a co-pay. Explained everything in full and was told that they will not bill copay but would still bill insurance - this after telling them three times the same story as above. This is just another way to bill you then collect on the back-end, and if you don't pay, they send you to collections. I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

My daughter has earwax buildup issues we've been able to treat at home. This time the earwax wouldn't budge. We took her to Ascent, they only charged $50 while others wanted $100 to $390 to see my daughter(we're self pay). My daughter and I were soooo excited when in just a few minutes the doctor removed the wax and my daughter could hear again!!! The other place charged us $100 and only irrigated with no result. That other facility referred us to a specialist who wanted $390.00 to see us. One last thing to add about Ascent... my daughter is 22 yrs young and thought the young doctor who helped us was very cool and made her feel very comfortable!! Over my 20+ years of using hearing aids I have engaged three hearing aid providers. Ascent is by far the most professional practice I have encountered. Practice is well staffed and organized, minimal waiting times. Something you would think would not need a comment is cleanliness. I am impressed with how sanitary and clean the operation is. My experience with audiologist Katie Seever was exceptional, she is caring and knowledgeable about the finer nuances of my devices. To me your provider is as important as your selection of brand/device. To have optimal assisted hearing you need a quality device and a caring provider who will work with you. Good people but they charge too much for service calls. They say you can take a service contract for about $240 a year and that will cover all service charges, but new hearing aids should not require service calls other than replacing the tubes, anything else would be covered under the hearing aid warranty. read more

This is, by far, the BEST practice I have been to with regards to my hearing loss. The first appointment sealed the deal. I have been to several audiologists and NEVER have they tested my hearing WITH and without my hearing aides inserted. I've been to this location twice with my father and neither time did the person at front desk named Jenn have on a mask. The first time she was very rude to another employee when she was asked a question about my father's account (very flippant attitude), and she also coughed a lot. I'm really worried she might be spreading covid. She was laughing, flirting and conversing with one of the doctors but mean to everyone else. I think her behavior is very unprofessional and she should see a dr about that nasty cough. read more
