Pastor Paul is a registered child abuser and is still working here. Do not come here and definitely do not bring your children here.

St Raphael Parish - Renovated church

I went to St. Raphael school K-8 and attended / served Mass here growing up. I have been to both…read morethe original and newly renovated church. I hate to be critical here, but I'll try to justify my rationale of why I'm upset. Here are the highlights: ~ The Church: Since the renovations, it's become a more modern looking church, even though it still has the same Altar and crucifix as the original. Being so close to the original church as I was growing up, I couldn't help but feel sad and disappointed in the renovations. To me, it lost its holiness. The original church just had that feeling that I was entering into God's presence. When I go the Cathedral downtown or St. Mary in Avon, I get that same feeling. It definitely enhances my worship to God and makes all the difference. Certainly, the modern churches like this one are beautiful looking, but to me they lose that holiness I long for in my worship to God. See pictures of each attached. ~ Music: The long time music director/ organist / cantor here is special. I love his rendition of the hymns: the Magnificat (Chepponis), Jesus The Lord (Roc O'Connor), One Bread One Body, I Am The Bread of Life, and Taste and See, to name a few. Since the renovations, though, he hardly sings anymore and they have assigned cantors for each Mass, which is unfortunate. ~ Priests: Over the years, St. Raphael has been blessed with many priests starting with who I grew up with: Fr. Callahan, Fr. Tom, Fr. Craig, and of course Fr. Tim. I also loved serving for some of the substitute priests (their names escape me). From what I've heard, it sounds like the other priests who have now come and gone are great too, which is a wonderful thing and what you hope for in every parish. Overall, it's a great parish, community, and school. I enjoyed it during my younger days, but I've since moved on and attending other parishes that will enrich my love for God even more -- and that's most important for all of us to find.

Christ the King Church - Quiet Retreat -- Saturday, 28 February 2026

I visited Christ the King Church for a Quiet Retreat on a Saturday in February 2026. I also visited…read morethe church for a Sunday morning church service back in December 2025. Prior to both of these days, I was given a quick tour of the church on a day after service, back in October 2025 by a friend who attends the church. Christ the King Church is part of the Vineyard Churches group of Christian churches. The church has a beautiful sanctuary inside that is fairly large with plenty of seating. The Sunday morning message by the Pastor is similar to other messages that I've heard from other non-denominational churches. The December 2025 church service that I attended was their Christmas service (it wasn't on Christmas Day). Their choir sang traditional Christmas carols and the piano player played organ sounds. It was lovely. The Quiet Retreat in February 2026 was a free and wonderful event. It was a Saturday spent with reading parts of scripture (The Holy Bible), praying as a group and individually, journaling (optional), and spending time alone in the church. With so much noise around us in the world, it was nice to spend the day in a little silence. The Quiet Retreat lasted from around 8am to 3:30pm and I had fun. The church provided snacks, tea, and lunch. It appears that they plan to do this retreat again so check their Instagram page or church website if you are interested in attending. If you are looking for a church in North Olmsted, then visit Christ the King Church. Everyone there is welcoming and friendly. **** GOAL of 250 reviews in 2026 - 135/250 total reviews in 2026 - 976 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 19 June 2026

The kids areas are beautiful. Fun murals on the wall and a play place in the preschool section. The people helped us around and were super welcoming. Great music, very good quality and heartfelt. The message was great, very relatable, scriptural and laced with humor. I appreciated how practical and folksy it was. The pastor greeted us after service and was super chill and non-pushy. All around great experience, definitely a great option if you are looking for a church in the area.
